The main entrance stands slightly ajar.
This large room is filled with lavish furnishings, including several expensive antique sofas, beautiful oil paintings, and hand-woven rugs, all spattered with the blood and remains of three house servants. Two double doors, one on the eastern wall and one on the western wall, lead to each wing of the manor.
Two hideous undead creatures lurk in the room. They appear to be coated in a veneer of pure gold!

Yes, to both. Place yourself wherever you like near the double doors to start. Also, sorry for the delay. My campaign page didn't show me there were new posts!
Jahz bravely enters the room, singing the songs of his people. The smell of smoke is strong here, and some items look a bit scorched or broken, as if they were maliciously destroyed. Waze rocks the blue creature with a bullet.

Salim bounds forward trying to work his way onto the sofa opposite Bask
I'm assuming it's difficult terrain? Let me know if he needs a check. I'm also assuming he can try to acrobatics out of the way of provoking attacks, some GMs I've played with have ruled he's not intelligent enough to do that, but I'd argue it's instinctive. Either way, here's the roll
He tries to nimbly dodge out of the way of the Festrog's reach

Benedict provides some guidance to Barrabas about fighting undead, gleaned from the spirits of dead Pathfinders:
“As a barbarian, Uhtred of Usk, once told me, Go right at ‘em – nothing fancy, just smash their ugly faces right in. Perhaps you will find that helpful.” +2 on just about any d20 roll you want before the start of my next turn
Ancestor’s Council (Su) As a standard action the shaman can call upon her ancestors to provide advice and assistance to one ally within 30 feet. The ally gains a +2 bonus on any attack roll, saving throw, ability check, or skill check made before the beginning of the shaman’s next turn. The shaman can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma bonus.

GM MattMorris |

Bask, I think lions go where they want--sofas are a cat's natural environment! He can stand on that chair, and I agree that he would try to dodge attacks.
Salim circles his designated prey, and Bask uses the distraction to cut down the creature they are flanking. However, when he slashes through it, disgusting boils on the creature burst, spraying Bask with a noxious fluid. Fortitude save vs disease, please!

Dearest Abeesa,
I know your brother will attempt to deprive you of the wealth you have rightfully earned for this house. The door opens on a concerning scene. Fire is spreading across the room, which is a small, well-furnished room with two large skylights
facing north. The doorframe, bookshelves, and paintings along the southern wall have shriveled into charred wisps under the intense heat of a raging fire. Waze and Benedict move closer.
In this particular iteration of fire fighting, you need to make DC 12 combat maneuver or Survival check to put out a square. (Or use some kind of appropriate magic or other check.) The fire will spread two squares at the end of the round.

[dice=Strength check if needed]d20+3
No strength check necessary. Want to use that roll to put out a square of fire before you go in to the other room? The door is open.
Jahz sees a room that appears to be a master bedchamber, filled with a massive canopy bed draped with silk sheets and littered with an assortment of small trinkets and relics, all scattered among piles of scrolls and parchments. To the west, hunched at the foot of a small reading table, lies a bespectacled man with a sinister-looking dagger protruding from his abdomen. The man’s right hand is chained to the right wrist of a woman who screams frantically as she thrashes to pull a second chain binding both parties to the flue of the fireplace. The chain rattles but doesn’t give. Smoke billows throughout the room, as flames lick from burning overhead timbers.

![]() |

Well... it's not necessarily a better idea, but it's very much in line with Jahz's approach to life, so...
The half-orc draws his sword, blue light dancing up and down the blade. "Madam, lay that chain on the ground and cover your eyes! We'll get you out of here, or die trying!" He raises his sword above his head in both hands and brings it down with a mighty crack on the chain binding the pair to the fireplace.
Ideally, I'd use the roll above for a check to break the chain - either by attacking it or bursting with a Strength check. Weapon damage is included below if needed.
Longsword damage, Arcane Strike: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 = 12

GM MattMorris |

Sounds good. I'm going to eyeball this a bit, considering that they are described as "rusty chains"
The woman stops struggling for a moment and complies. Eyes squeezed tightly shut, she screams, "Free us! It's too late for the manor. We have to grab the valuables and escape!"
Jahz strikes at the rusty chains, scouring them but not quite cutting all the way through. (7 damage to chains; looks about 1/2 broken)

You've extinguished the fire, but it's only a matter of time before this whole wing of the manor collapses. The timbers overhead shed sparks onto the carpet, and the ceiling creaks ominously.
Out of initiative, but time is still a factor.
The woman chained to the fireplace insistently shouts, "Quickly, finish cutting us free!" The man chained to her groans and clutches at the dagger protruding from his belly.
