Annilda emerges from the poison garden, singing softly to her 'baby' cradled in her arms.
♫"Sleep, little centipede, don't you cry,
Momma's gonna sing you a lullaby... "♫
Bellisir Reycyne |
Bellisir exhales upon seeing Annilda, not realizing that he was holding his breath. He's not sure who grabbed him and pushed him out the kitchen door, but had they not, he'd be buried under tons of stone, wood, and glass.
"She is safe," Bellisir says. "Is everyone else ok?" he asks, noting that he can see that some of his friends are sporting some scratches and bruises. For that matter, the half-elf himself is feeling quite sore.
He makes a half turn to look at the collapsed structure, hearing the groan of wood as the remains begin to settle. Then he turns back to his friends and Annilda.
"We did it," he says and for the first time since arriving in Saringallow and becoming a part of the search for the missing youths, his placid expression changes into a weary smile. "The source of the bile has been eliminated. Saringallow is safe."
Soddy Daisy |
"Yes! Now we can let the Mayor know that all is well again - and we can go have more tiny breads from the bakery," Soddy agrees, her daisies bobbing cheerfully as she lightly bounces her feet.

2 people marked this as a favorite. |
“BOOM! There are no flies on Annilda.”
Gervase shows her respect using an unusual(?) idiom. “I was confident she would have been out a window at the first sign of structural collapse.”
Surveying the devastation, the ranger considers how much the party has gained compared to what was lost.
“This is probably best for the villagers in many ways.”
"Before the collapse, I was going to suggest salvaging that barrel of whiskey as a gift for Alcie Kruptin at the Witch’s End Tavern for looking after us. But that’s no biggie."
Annea Clivana |
Annea brushes the dust off of her clothes and takes a deep breath before sighing, [b]"Well we are all safe. I am glad that you are safe Annilda."
Annea gathers the group close to her and unleashes the last of her healing energy.

Boom Sticks |
"BOOM! is right Gervase. That's the biggest boom I ever heard or saw! I wonder if the bile exploded? Or do big buildings always make that much dust and noise?"
Boomy briefly considers a new career in demolitions...
Equinius 'Quinn' Bikakpu'unde |
"Wow, that was close. Thanks for the healing Annea. Oh, hey Annilda, I am glad you and your...ummmm....baby made it out."
Quinn glances around looking at the wrecked mansion and the path back to Saringallow.
"Annilda, we found a map that indicated mites were headed there to attack the town, all of its men, women, and babies are in danger. Do you know anything that might help? Like how many mites there were total or how many left recently? We need to keep those people and babies safe!

Back in Saringallow, Mayor Trinelli congratulates you for your bravery and resourcefulness. "100gp a piece for the records, as agreed," she says, handing each of you a pouch of gold. "Don't worry, no one's reported any more mites or goblins in the region. I think you've scared them away for good."
"You really should meet with the grateful folk whose families are mentioned in the records," the mayor encourages you. "Though it will take a long time for the damage to fully heal, a grim chapter in Saringallow’s history is nearer to coming to a close."
By the time you leave the mayor's office, people have already started lining up in front the town hall, curious to know what happened to their kin so long ago. Many tearful townspeople seek you out, to meet you and to thank you.
"Three cheers and a toast for the Heroes of Saringallow!" the crowd cries. Among the many happy faces, you see more than a few that you recognize, Nixa Volsetti; the haberdasher Petrellano Pindlion and his apprentice, Betrona Pindlion; the apothecary Majara Pricknettle and her apprentice, Gellion Vazarro; the innkeeper Alcie Kruptin and her apprentice, Morvinarr Albusin; the baker Gunty Keronna and his apprentice, Noemi Tauralio; Father Ildris Ruvarra and his adopted daughter and apprentice at the temple of Erastil, Nolaria Wintren; and the cobbler 'Dependable' Drummady Laterna and her apprentice Pavolus Laterna.
