Antoine reacts at Historia... vilain talks? with frown eyes.
Wait... does mean.
"You are the original Historia?... but why?" exclaims Antoine.
He draws out his Camera with the "very intense" flash setting and give out against Red.
Camera (plasma rifle)+get'em: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 11 + 2 = 24vs EAC
f&e: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
+2 morale bonus against red.
| GM Hmm |
Antoine hits the Red robot dead on, and it looks like that shot was especially effective against it.
"Nice try. We're not here for one of your interviews, Antoine." Historia's calm voice states. "You have all outlived your usefulness, I think."

Naylor's concern for their leader makes their reactions just a fraction slower than normal. Still, as the threat becomes clear they attempt to become unnoticeable while moving closer to the green robot, drawing one of the four pistols strapped in easy reach, and firing.
Stealth+1 vs 20+CR: 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 17 + 1 = 22

Arc Pistol vs EAC: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Even while reacting, Naylor is also observing, trying to determine as much as they can about their foes.

"Hey, these guys are meant to be decommissioned! They've got some nasty armament." Teammates can read the spoilers for more details.
I am unsure where the turrets are. Do we need to destroy or can we disable them?
Pangea-Kappa
|
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Pangea does not understand at all this talk about going to get some transport... just to walk down a corridor?
Oh!
Getting it, the android tries to communicate by telepathy: Can you share the references for this coded language? I am not following what plan you are elaborating.
Having arrived in the sanctum, Pangea purposefully takes a breath, so that it is able to sigh... and addresses Historia:
"Historia, what responsibilities are so urgent you need to take over another body? And where have you stored 7?"
The fist sized mote of Dark Energy floating near Pangea's head moves to the android's hand, and turns into an energized fist of crackling dark energy as Pangea moves forward, walking past the cables on the ground.
Pangea then accelerates and charges the red bot' that Antoine has started taking pictures of.
"These bots are meant to be decommissioned, like you, 6!"
Solar Weapon Energized Fist vs. KAC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Magic B & f: 1d6 + 1 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 12 + 1 = 20
• Move action to walk past the cables in case they are Diff' Terrain
• Drawing weapon as part of Move
• Stellar Rush = As a standard action, you can wreathe yourself in stellar fire and make a charge without the penalties
Yuqab al'Huluw

Damn. I was afraid of this. Yuqab runs across the room toward his fellow operative. He snaps his fingers as he leaps into a somersault, rolling to his feet with a pistol in his hand and firing at the green-ringed robot. Swift action to call his static arc pistol, trick attack, fire.
Acrobatics to trick (DC 20+CR), yeti party: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 1 = 25
Trick damage: 3d8 ⇒ (8, 8, 2) = 18

L.I.B.R.E, are you influencing me in some ways?
| GM Hmm |
Naylor misses the bot completely, but knows its history well. She also realizes that the turrets could totally be destroyed, and are not that hard to hit.
Yuqab shoots the Green Robot with his Static Arc Pistol, doing a substantial amount of damage, as the creature's wiring starts to spark.

Id's antennae straighten with a start as Historia activates the wicked-looking robots. Historia-7?! No!! Don't worry, we're on our way to help you! He gestures toward the far robot and hurls three shining motes of energy at it.
Full action shooting stars (i.e. magic missile) at green.

Hawthorne moves deeper into the room, drawing one of the three rifles secured to the back of his armor. He stays relatively close to the east wall to avoid being caught in the spray of bullets from machine gun toting robots.
He takes aim at the (red) robot directly in front of him and fires.

| Sophia: Artificial Intelligence |
Meanwhile, Sophia scans the environment, searching for accessible control modules. "I'm going to see if I can't turn the environment to our advantage," she conveys to her creator-host.
Be careful, Historia--any of them--are skilled programmers.
"You focus on the battle in front of you," she chides before devoting her attention to brute forcing access into the nearest (right-hand) turret controls.
Computers (Hack Access): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
Naylor
|
Naylor is unphased by the minor damage from green's weapon but does not like how it is approaching and the look of the serrated claw. Naylor attempts to sneak back while staying in easy range of fire. They are torn between targets but remain focused on the advancing security bot.
Stealth+1 vs 20+CR: 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 17 + 1 = 36

reroll bluff cunning liar if lower than 7: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
Yuqab al'Huluw
|
Yuqab is unable to entirely dodge the machine-gun fire as he leaps away from Naylor to get some distance. He comes up firing hoping to catch the bot off-guard. Trick attack vs. green if it's still up. If not, he will instead draw his knife in his off hand and shoot at the turret in front of him (in that case, ignore the trick attack roll).
Acrobatics to trick (DC 20+CR), yeti party: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 18 + 1 = 23
Trick damage: 3d8 ⇒ (3, 4, 2) = 9

Static arc pistol (Targets EAC): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Electricity damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Crit damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Static arc pistol has the Arc crit property, so if this was vs. the robot then it should arc to the turret for 2 electricity damage.
| GM Hmm |
Hawthorne misses the Red Robot, but Sophia's insightful hack runs right past Historia's countermeasures and disables both turrets, which now hang limply from the ceiling! Antoine's and Yuqab's electrical attacks fry the two robots, which fry in a pile of sparking circuitry.
Bzzttt-ttt-ttt
COMBAT OVER!
The feedback from this shorts the command cradle! The overload spills into Historia-7's body, covering her in electrical arcs before knocking her unconscious for the moment—though the polycarbonate shell over the command cradle remains in place, preventing you from directly interfering with her.
Historia! Ziggy cries.
Meanwhile, some of you see a panel in the wall near the south door, clearly labeled “For Emergency Use."
The kit includes four mk 2 serums of healing, two tier 2 coagulantsAR, four tier 2 excitantsAR, an advanced medkit, four doses of sprayflesh, and three black nanite hypopensAR.
As you examine Historia-7's body visually through the polycarbonate shell, and a panel along the side of the command cradle can be used to bring up the physiological readings of its occupant. Historia-7 doesn't show any signs of physical injury, other than the overload that rendered her unconscious, but she is obviously in poor health and hasn't been giving any attention to her personal maintenance for some time.
Pangea-Kappa
|
Pangea looks down at where red's serrated claw ripped its thigh open, revealing some circuitry.
Pangea quickly checks the damage out, and sees it is not too bad.
So the android looks back up and raises its fist to smash.......
Nothing?
"Oh?!"
Somehow, the battle field is calm, and the fight is already over.
Pangea shrugs, and turns to trying to check out ways of getting past the shell.
Does the shell seem very super resistant?
Pangea taps it...
And there is no control panel to open it?
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Hawthorne the Innovator

Hawthorne moves over to the transpart shell imprisoning his faction leader and examines the effects of the electrocution and her overall condition. The LED on the side of his head changes back to a flickering blue.
"Nice work," he compliments the ace gunslingers.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
"This in concerning," he says after a few moments of visually examining the adroid and the surrounding auras. "This is not as simple as technomancy and certainly not a biologic disease. Restoring--or freeing--her from whatever 6 has done, if it is 6, is going to take more than I have up my sleeve."
Yuqab al'Huluw

Id-Sinitis

Mysticism: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Id hustles over to Historia's ploycarbonate shell, quickly examining her. This isn't just some spell or curse. Whatever is causing this is deeply ingrained in Historia's construction, and it's getting worse.
He goes to the panel and snags the healing items within. Is there a way to get inside Historia's mind? Maybe we can help fight this thing off from the inside.
| GM Hmm |
Ziggy examines the case. It appears locked from the inside, and secure. It would take heavy equipment to get her out... He looks to all of you. So, you think she's still in there, right? Maybe we'll find the clues for how to help her elsewhere in this complex.
Where do you want to go next?
3. Historia-6's old office
4. Historia-7's current office
5. The Server Room
Pangea-Kappa
|
"The server room, in case there is some current ongoing danger?"
Pangea shrugs, the android does not know much.
Hawthorne the Innovator
|
"Sophia and I could try to work on the servers to see if there is any clue as to what either of them have been working on," Hawthorne suggests.
Yuqab al'Huluw
|
"Yeah, sure. Let's head to the server room."
Antoine Desilets
|
Antoine listens the others and responds: "I would have prefer Historia 7 office, but i rally to your suggestion. The servers."
Id-Sinitis
|
Id mods and hustles to follow the group to the server room.
| GM Hmm |
The server room is locked. May I have a computers or engineering check?
Id-Sinitis

Encountering the locked door, Id makes a call on his comm unit. "Hey, I need your help here." A second later, a smaller shirren scurries over to the door and begins working on it.

As soon you enter this room, lined with softly humming servers, you make a disturbing discovery:
the lifeless corpse of Historia-6. A cursory examination reveals that his corpse has burned out from within.
A sturdy cable ending in a connector with a series of retracted blades rests near the body. The cable is attached to a machine that stands apart from the orderly racks of servers in this room: a squat technological device with silver circuitry tracings along its surface nearly identical to those lining an android’s skin.
You further realize that the Abrogation Matrix has been somewhat modified from its original function, enabling a kind of psychological bridge between the user and a target android.

Naylor immediately approaches the body to examine it.

Abrogation Matrix, a kind of hybrid technology used to control androids—a type of equipment banned in the Pact Worlds following the Thyst Rebellion in 154 ag, when androids were granted full citizenship. My wife told me about it.
But it seems différent than she describes.
Hawthorne, What Do you think of this?"
| GM Hmm |
Ziggy's antennae twitch, and he starts shaking as he looks at the horrible machine. Did he steal my Historia? Will we get her back?
The body of Historia-6 still has all of its own gear:
He also carries:
rifleAR,
The data storage device contains various investment accounts dating back to 193 ag, though the owner’s information has been anonymized. Most of the funds have been recently withdrawn, but 10,000 credits remain in the accounts.
Which office do you search next?
Hawthorne the Innovator
|
Engineering: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
"I find it both fascinating and horrific," Hawthorne comments as Antoine identifies the device as an aborgation matrix. "I've never seen this sort of modification before, though. Historia-6--it seems it is definitely 6--must have tinkered with it as part of his possession of Historia-7."
He retrieves the two junkbot grenades from the older Dataphiles' belt. "Best loot our enemy's corpse," he says. "It seems he was used to covert missions before he was lost behind the Godshield."
He points towards 6's office. "Maybe he left some clue to his overall plan or, hopefully, files that might help to reverse what he's done to Historia."
Naylor
|
"Antoine, you mentioned wanting to search Historia-7's office, why there before Historia-6's?"
Id-Sinitis
|
Id takes a moment to scoop up Historia-6's equipment. Whatever the next conflict is, these will certainly help us. He loads the medicinals he found in the first aid kit, as well as the rest of the unclaimed gear, into the null-space chamber. He pauses, looking at the data-storage device, and turns expectantly toward Hawthorne.
Any thoughts on claiming this stuff? Hawthorne's got some of the junkbot grenades, and I'm guessing Naylor and Yuqab could make the most of the incapacitator and the sniper rifle/ammo. If nobody else wants them, I'd like the armor with upgrades and the sonic suppressor, as well as the null-space which we can use to stach whatever we aren't using, like the medicines (especially if I'm gonna potentially be healing folks). Anyone want the grenades, ring, or hat? Can Hawthorne check the data-storage device for clues?
Naylor
|
Naylor watches Id as he gathers up the supplies, "I usually like to keep grenades and healing separated. If you like I can stash those grenades in my bandolier."
I'd certainly take the incapacitator and/or ring if nobody else wants them. I'm happy for others to claim them though.
| GM Hmm |
Historia-6's office is unlocked. As Ziggy comes up, pausing to breathe heavily, he notes. Historia-7 left her mentor's workspace untouched, as she didn't know his fate. She was always respectful of his memory.
Despite Historia-6's return from the Scoured Stars, this workspace remains eerily clean and sterile.
May have some perception checks as you search?
