Cast Flare on Blue Bandit
Garran Oakthorn |
Garran begins making his way through the deep snow toward the lodge.
Paldo Greenspan |
Paldo Casts Enlarge on Sigrun watching her double in size.
A humanoid creature whose size increases to Large has a space of 10 feet and a natural reach of 10 feet. This spell does not change the target’s speed.
If insufficient room is available for the desired growth, the creature attains the maximum possible size and may make a Strength check (using its increased Strength) to burst any enclosures in the process. If it fails, it is constrained without harm by the materials enclosing it–the spell cannot be used to crush a creature by increasing its size.
All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly enlarged by the spell. Melee weapons affected by this spell deal more damage (see Table: Medium/Large Weapon Damage). Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any enlarged item that leaves an enlarged creature’s possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown and projectile weapons deal their normal damage. Magical properties of enlarged items are not increased by this spell.
In short +2 STR, -2 Dex, -1 Att & AC, Battle Axe = 2d6, Reach = 10ft
Sigrun Barstad |
"Hah, you puny runts!" Sigrun can't hide now, as she's as big as the tree she'd been behind. Instead, she moves out to draw the bandits' attention, swinging at one of them with her now-comically-oversized shield. Unfortunately, she isn't quite used to the size increase just yet, and misses badly.

"Ugh...a little help here, please?" Sigrun staggers back up and out into the clearing, once again dripping blood everywhere.
Linge Hagebak |
Linge calls back Horn, inspecting the wound on his flank.
"Garran, can you heal him too?"
Paldo Greenspan |
Putting pressure on his wound Paldo said ”I think a few of us could use some help.”
Garran Oakthorn |
Garran moves away from the downed hooligans. "Gather round everyone. The is the last time I'll be able to channel the holy might of Iomedae." He sighs. "My faith is not as strong as it could be."
He raises his holy symbol high and calls on his goddess.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 5
"I have one prayer left. One that might let me attack those wicked fey... Or I can call for healing for one person." Garran's piercing blue-green eyes fix on Sigrun. "What do you think?"
Glim Murnig |
Glim moves to join his companions, fingers tapping restlessly at the empty loops where bombs but moments ago hung.
"A doughty fight, my friends. Well done. Bravery is not lacking in this group. Perhaps we might find healing potions within the house. A group this size would have collected a few items of such worth."
He eyes Sigrun's wounds, his lips pursing into a thin line. "Then again, caution begets longevity. Those fae may return at a moment's notice. I bow to Garran's wisdom."
That said, he links his hands behind his back and turns to consider the house once more, eyeing its doors and windows, trying to detect any lingering sign of movement.

"I'm fine. I'll live. Just have to be more careful", she says as she looks down. "And...I don't think I need to be big anymore."
Glim Murnig |
Glim pats Sigrun's knee, wiping off as he does so the mixture of bloody slushy snow that's caught in her armor. "I have found that being of small size has its advantageous, my dear Sigrun. Do not feel despondent. Fate has not been kind to you thus far. But when she turns her fickle favor upon you at last, I shudder for your foes."
Drawing himself up, tugging at his deep delving costume, he scowls at the home. "I shall take a look within the windows and see if anything else awaits us."
DM, did the half orc lady emerge from the home?
Perception to spot the half orc body: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Stealth toward the house to peer in windows: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
GM My Black Midnight |
Horn spots something in the window, and at his prompting Linge sees it too. it looks like someone peeked out of the window directly in line with Linge then pulled their head back into the room.
Glim hears someone yelling inside.
"Ten-Penny! what are you doing? get out there and help them!
as Glim approaches the porch, he gets a view into the front door. he goes very quietly and has not been spotted by anyone yet. he looks in to see a cozy looking common room of the lodge, with a crackling fireplace, a large dining table for 15 or more people, and a large bearskin rug.
he also sees two skeletons slowly walking towards the doors. the skeletons are coated in frost and ice, despite the warmth inside the house. in the back of the room he also spots the half-orc female.
Linge Hagebak |
Linge beckons her companions to get closer to the door.
"There's someone else in this room," she explains, pointing to the window where she spotted a silhouette.
Glim Murnig |
Glim fades back against the wall beside the front door, easing a bomb into his palm.
Then, looking to the others, he holds up two fingers, then mimics walking, indicating that they're coming out the door. That done, he fades even further back, to another window that will give him a line of sight on the half orc, drinking a formula as he goes.
I'm assuming I'm still under the benefits of my stealth roll, so not rolling again. Drinking a Bomber's Eye formula and moving to another window through which I'll have a line of sight on the half orc.
Sigrun Barstad |
Still breathing hard from the pain, Sigrun moves up carefully behind Linge, shield up and at the ready.
Paldo Greenspan |
Paldo stays hidden in the treeline and readies an action to cast flare on anything that comes out of the main door.
Garran Oakthorn |
Sword and shield at the ready, Garran moves back toward the lodge.
GM My Black Midnight |
please move your tokens where you want to be when describing movement. I tried to move people where they indicated, but i don't know how close people are trying to get to the building
the group soon sees what Glim was indicating. not bandits this time, but skeletons! skeletons covered in a rime of frost. they walk towards the group, holding no weapons but with sharp icy claws extended.

meanwhile, inside, the half orc yelps in surprise as she is chased down by a bear, and slashes at it with her sword.

kn (arcana) to identify ongoing spell effect: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 neither works, of course
Sigrun narrows her eyes as she feels the pull of magic on her, but she's able to shake it off. "No, thanks. I think I'll kill you instead." She turns and advances on the robed man, taking a heavy swing at one of his two copies.

Garran Oakthorn |
"Holy man?" Garran mutters. He had never really thought of himself in those terms. It was an accurate description, he supposed. These thoughts passed through his mind as he quickly moved in to attack the robed man.
Cold iron longsword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Linge moves behind Sigrun, and shoots a bullet at the half-orc. If she's still standing. If she's dead, then I'll cast Flare on the bandit leader.
Attack: 1d20 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) - 4 + 2 = 2 Got a bit cursed with the dice here!
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
