Amenopheus says “I could not scry on Kafar and Nefti, and teleporting to an arbitrary point in the Pillars of the Sun would be a fool’s errand. Our best chance is to enter the mountains close to their starting point, and then follow their tracks.”
In response to the professor's questions, he continues.
“The Jeweled Sages were an order of scholars who took an oath to preserve the culture and arts of the golden age of Osirion. Their venture proved controversial, for the rulers that followed the Song Pharaoh were offended by the sages’ pretensions and deemed the order subversive. To escape persecution and safeguard the lore of our land, the sages built their headquarters in a hidden location. It makes sense that they should choose an isolated place like the Pillars of the Sun as grounds for their refuge. The conquest of Osirion by Kelishite forces during Osirion’s Second Age resulted in the death of most if not all of the sages.”

You hear a rumbling voice addressing you that sometimes almost sound like a howling wolf.
”I see new faces ... an honor to work with yoooouuu! My name is Kenji Haruuuu.“ Kenji says and bows to welcome the Ifrit and half-orc.
For those that know Kenji, it is a familiar voice but a very strange sight!!
Kenji is still a massive man. But the hair and beard that were blazing and burning so that they almost warmed his surroundings are gone and replaced by a fury face of a wolf-like humanoid.
He turns to his friends Fiata, Dario and Penthesilea.
“Skai woouuld suuuurely be as shocked as yooouuu! Our last encounter with the Ruuuby Sage and the Sage of Plagues triggered something in me! I dreamt of the past and Instead of encyclopedic knowledge, I learned so much through the tales, songs, and poems of the Ruuuuby Sage’s memories!!! But something also cuuuursed me!! And now I loooook like this … “ he says with sad expression on his face.
His equipment has not changed much. He still has a greatsword and a bardiche on his back, some more weapons at his side and a heavy shield in his hand. He still wears a fullplate that looks like it has been recently oiled.
Resting on top of his chest is an amulet showing the holy symbol of Irori.
Kenji again looks at Nevedno and Zeta.
"I am glad to walk the rooooaaad to perfection with yooouuuu." Kenji says in a crackling and sometimes howling voice.

But do we walk to the mountain? Time seems to be important to you in this escapade. Would it not be worth the arcane effort to get us to this starting point without delay?

The Professor is writing some notes, balancing a reference book on his knee and then holding a smaller tome in his hand. Without looking up, he says, "The Pillars of the Sun are in a dry, hot, and harsh area about 15 miles south of Eto. I suggest we get proper provisions and clothing unless you want to cook in your armor. Perhaps some camels too. Also, word is that Kafar and Nefti have been complaining about the Aspis Consortium. Perhaps they aren't as loyal as we think."
He finally looks up, suddenly seeing now faces, including the change in Kenji's appearance. "Oh, my. Hello, everyone. Professor Dario Westone, at your service. I'm mostly a religious scholar, but I dabble in all sort of things." He close the books and approaches Kenji. "Fascinating, my friend. Dr. Howard at the University will want to hear of this. Oh, and an old friend of mine could possibly help too...though the last I heard, he was up in Ustalav. Dantrian was always an odd sort."

Kenji nods with a smile after Dario’s comments.

Fiata races in and hugs Kenji! "I have missed you so much! And it seems as if you have a great deal to share with us as well."
After hearing Dario's description of the area, "I still have a wand that should offset most of the desert heat."

Kenji rejoices when Fiata embraces him.
“Oh Fiata, I was so afraid that youuu all wouuuuld see me as a stranger! After all I’ve changed a lot! But we stand tooogether tooo solve the puzzle of the Sages!“ he says with a smile and also looks at the Professor.

When you are ready to go, Amenopheus teleports you to the location where your quarry entered the mountains.
What is everyone's average speed? Also, please make a Survival check for tracking, and for those not benefiting from the Wand of endure elements, please make 2 fort saves due to heat exhaustion. Or let me kow how many charges you use, as I assume most of you will use the spells.

I'm going to assume we can have a séance before we go.
I will channel the trickster spirit taking stealth and perception as my new skills. The séance boon for any that are willing to partake in the séance is a +1 bonus to survival and it becomes a class skill. (I'm hoping that someone has at least a decent wisdom score.)
I'm will gladly accept a charge off the wand.

The professor, Dario, finds the tracks, and manages to get you on the right track.
After descending down a roughly hewn tunnel, you reach a long underground gallery. Enigmatic hieroglyphs cover just about every surface of this chamber excavated into the mountain. Bas-relief engravings stretch along the walls all the way from the lofty, tapered ceiling down to floor level, their eerie pictography suggesting an unnerving story. Toppled columns, crumbling shreds of cloth, and potsherds scattered throughout the chamber attest to the place’s abandonment and antiquity. Small holes in the vaulted ceiling let in thin beams of sunlight but do little to illuminate the chamber.

“Hmm … Tremors and time have weakened the columns in this area, leaving them sturdy enough to climb, yet poorly anchored and easily toppled. So long as several columns were to remain standing, the room would not collapse. Maybe this could be used against us? For now we shouldn’t destabilize this area!“
GM Spoiler:
Toppling a column requires a DC 15 Strength check as a standard action, and the falling column strikes all creatures in a 15-foot line.
@GM: Is there a map?

Dario moves quickly to the side as Fiata cheers him on. The bony foe crumbles at his feet, despite that a scimitar isn't the best weapon for damaging them.
