I am so sorry, I totally missed Hobbs post about the undead...
Hobb recognizes half of them as elite ghouls and the other half were ghast. After we finish up, I will explain the seemingly random enemies there. We are nearing the end!
You travel up the mountain for a couple more hours.
A large cave opening is carved into the mountainside to the north. A trio of watchtowers stands in the clearing between the cave opening and the forest to the south.
Each watchtower is 15 feet wide and 25 feet tall. A ladder on the north and south sides of each tower allows for easy access to the top of the tower. You can attempt to Climb the tower via a ladder with ease. A PC climbing the ladder can move up to half her Speed without attempting an Athletics check. If you attempts to Climb a tower from the east or west side, the ascent is relatively simple, but requires more effort than using a ladder. Climbing the side of the watchtower requires a successful DC 14 Athletics check
You see a human guard at each of the towers. You are fairly certain that they should of seen at least those of you who are not stealthing, but none of them have reacted to you. There are also two harpies on the middle tower. One of the harpies looks significantly younger than the other one.
I won initiative, but none of my people take actions. It is all of your turns!

Hobb prays and a magical shield of fire appears before him. Casting shield. My AC is 1 higher. Then Hobb steps forward into the clearing. "Hey! You have something of ours!" he bellows. "Return the brooch!"
He holds his scimitar in hand...
| - Annabelle - |
Annabelle uses her super-fast tiger speed to circle around the watchtower and climb all the way up the ladder. Two move actions puts me at the bottom of the far ladder. Then the last move action is to climb the ladder at full speed which will get me to the top of it and standing behind the guy.

Old Wrinkleface leaps into the forest and slowly creeps forward through the brush, doing his best to stay hidden...

Amberly hurries forward to get a view of the harpy camp. Then she gives her tambourine a shake and sings a fast paced little song!
Haste on Old Wrinkeface! He gets an extra action each round that he can use for strike or stride. It lasts 1 minute.
| LoreMaster GM |
The whole crew spends the round getting into position. Amberly also gives Old Wrinkleface a nice buff to make him faster.
The harpies seem to perk up and really notice you for the first time. The bigger one red shouts out You fools! I told you to watch for intruders! This is mine. All my power!
The big harpy begins to sing an alluring song. It is so... captivating. Everyone make me a will save dc 18, or become captivated by the harpy’s song. On a failure, the creature is fascinated, and it must spend each of its actions to move closer to the harpy as expediently as possible, while avoiding obvious dangers. If a captivated creature is adjacent to the harpy, it stays still and doesn’t act. He then flies up about 30 ft.
The other harpy cackles a bit, pulls out it's morning star, then flies in to attack the pesky magic user. Unfortunately, the flight was longer than it expected and is unable to attack this round.
The guards do not seem to notice Old Wrinkleface. The orange guard draws his bow and takes a step forward and tries to take a shot at Annabelle. The arrow seems to just graze her, dealing minimal damage. 6 piecing damage to Annabelle
The blue guard does the same thing as the orange but takes his shot at Hobb. He also gets a grazing shot, that does minimal damage. 6 piecing damage to Hobb
The light blue guard draws his kukri, and takes a swing at Annabelle twice. His first swing misses but his second one lands hard. 11 slashing damage to Annabelle.

Amberly hear the harpy's song and immediately starts a song of her own!
"NO! Cover up your ears, don't listen, don't listen, NO! Pay that dirty harpy no mind!"
Using Counter Performance. It also uses up a spell point. "You protect yourself and allies through performance. Choose an auditory performance if the trigger was auditory or a visual performance if it was visual, then roll a Performance check for the chosen performance. You and allies in the area (60 ft.) can use the higher result of your Performance check or their saving throw."
Perform: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 (Anyone within 60 ft. can choose to use this result in place of their saving throw against the harpy's song.)

Wow, that is a really useful ability here. Nice job. Everyone is bolstered from the big harpies song ability.
Old Wrinkleface falls for the enchanting music, moving to the harpy and tries to hit him with a grappling hook to climb closer. The grappling hook falls harmlessly to the ground though as the hook misses.
Annabelle snaps out of the wierd trance right away as she was attack. She gets her claws ready and tries to rip into the enemy right in front of her, but only hits once. 12 damage to light blue
Amberly plays a song to help break the enchantment from the group and releases a few missiles at the other harpy. 7 damage to purple
Hobb also attacks the harpy in front of him, but only hits it once. 13 damage to purple
Alunarius moves up the ladder, pulls out his weapon, and stabs the enemy, cutting into him. 7 damage to light blue
Kali succeeds in helping the fight against the surrounded guard by hitting him hard with her scythe. 15 damage to light blue
The younger harpy sees that the caster was able to counter the bigger ones song so tries it's own song. Everyone make me a will save dc 14, or become captivated by the harpy’s song. On a failure, the creature is fascinated, and it must spend each of its actions to move closer to the harpy as expediently as possible, while avoiding obvious dangers. If a captivated creature is adjacent to the harpy, it stays still and doesn’t act. This triggers a reaction to Amberly. You autopass and have a bunch of spell points so I assume you use it, meaning everyone saves and is bolstered from that harpy as well. But it is up to you if you want to spend the point on that or not.
It then takes a step forward and tries to strike Amberly with it's morningstar once. The attack barely hits her, but regardless strikes true. 9 damage to Amberly
The bigger harpy, flies down to Amberly seeing her as his biggest problem and also tries to strike out him his morningstar. Unfortantly for the harpy, a gust of wind messed with his flight down to the gnome, causing him to nearly drop his weapon and makes the whole attack a failure. Critical miss.
The orange guard releases a volley of arrows at Annabelle, hoping to drop one of the injured combatants. The first arrow finds a very tender target, while the other two fly off into the woods. That one arrow was very painful though. 21 damage to Annabelle. That was really low rolling on the damage for the crit. That is 4d6 + 8 + 1d10 and I rolled 3 ones on the d6s.
The dark blue guard presses the assault on the poor gnome. Once again, only one arrow finds it's mark though this time, the shot is not nearly as painful. 11 damage to Annabelle
The last guard is not on the same page as the other two guards and instead attacks at the barbarian, who dealt him the most damage so far. Despite using an agile kukri, he seems to be a mess with it as misses terrible with it. This makes the next attack all the more surprising as he stabs deep into Kali. His last attack misses the barbarin also. Critical miss and a critical hit. 19 damage to Kali, cutting through all your temp and dealing 11 real damage.

My Mom says yes, Amberly will use the spell point to do her counter performance. She won't get to take her turn until later though.
Old Wrinkleface breaks free from the harpy's magic song.
"Oh! You tricky! Yes!"
Old Wrinkleface spins his grappling hook in the air and throws it at the blue guard up on the platform. He tries to hook him on the leg, then he gives a great, big, YANK! He tries to pull him right off the platform!

Annabelle is hurt the orange guy keeps shooting her! She leaps off the platform, races across the ground, and hurries up the ladder. Three strides gets me all the way up to him (Annabelle is really fast). She's going to need an acrobatics to not get hurt as she jumps off the tower (that's still allowed, right?), and she's going to need an acrobatics to climb the ladder on the orange tower at full speed.

I am back with a new laptop. I am still in Buffalo till January 6th but my posting should be back to once a day'ish. This adventure is almost done so hopefully we wrap up soon. Sorry about the delay, I was hoping to finish before holiday season took hold!
Old Wrinkleface tries to launch a grappling hook up at the nearest guard, but is unable to trip him. That leaves you with 3 actions left. I don't like to, but I will bot you for the rest just to keep this moving.
Realizing how tricky this guy will be to trip and how fast he can move, Old Wrinkleface tries to climb the watch tower, athletics dc 14: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 which he does effortlessly. He still feels the power of Amberly's magic run through him so he is still able to attack the guard once. Keeping your attack rolls... He hit's with his attack, hurting the guard. 8 damage to blue
As far as I can tell, acrobatics can't or athletics to mitigate the damage from falling... weird. Something to bring up in the surveys. It doesn't make sense that you can not, especially when you have a ladder you could use you guide you. By the rules, no matter how acrobatic you are, if you jump from something 10 feet up, you take 5 damage and fall prone... would you like me to retcon it so that you climb down the ladder at full speed instead of jumping? I think it would take you close to the goal since jumping means you would need to spend a full action to stand up. If that is what you want, you would be in front of the ladder, but not up it yet. I moved you on the map the why I am suggesting.
Hobb swings twice at the purple small harpy, only hitting once, but the hit seems to hurt a lot. 19 damage to purple
Ouch... rough round for Kali... Kali swings her big scythe 3 times but fails to even touch the the guard. flat check... rage? dc 5: 1d20 ⇒ 9 This fuels her rage as she keeps her anger!
An equally bad turn for Alunarius... Alunarius also tries to swing at the guard 3 times, failing to land a sing blow on the seemingly untouchable guard.
Amberly sprays both harpies with a mist of color! Both seem relatively unaffected, but both are seem a bit dazzled from it. Both succeeded
The orange guard panics as he sees the tiger like monk charging his tower, he releases another volley of arrows at her. This triggers her niffty bracers, helping to deflect his arrows. The first arrow seemed to be flying right for her exposed neck when the bracers deflect the arrow to just hit her shoulder. The other two arrows miss completely. The bracers saved you from a crit! 11 damage to Annabelle.
The dark blue guard finds a pesky goblin on his tower so her he drops his bow, and pulls out what appears to be a very fancy kukri. He proceeds to try to cut into him 2 times with it! Both swings hit the elderly goblin, causing him to bleed a bit more than it seems he should. 29 damage to Old Wrinkleface
The light blue guard presses his assault on the barbarian, attacking her 3 times. All three swings hit, causing some massive damage to his foe, but in true barbarian fashion, she stays standing. Holy cow! I wish I could roll like this as a player! On this turn, I rolled a 17,18,19. 35 damage to Kali
The purple harpy swings his morningstar once and talons twice at the annoying gnome who crushed his music. Only one of the talon attacks manage to hurt her. 10 damage to Amberly
The big harpy follows suite, taking the exact same actions. Like his friend, only one of his attacks hit... unlike his friend, it was the morningstar and it hit in a tender spot! Ouch... another crit. 31 damage to Amberly.
Man, these posts are taking me forever to type out! Sorry the rolls have been so brutal on you guys this fight. It isn't too late to turn it around! Everyone is up!
EDIT... I just remembered the dazzled condition, but still both attacks hit. I was hoping that crit would miss on you.

Alunarus continues to attack over and over again, but only strikes the enemy once. 7 damage to light blue
Old Wrinkleface is having a hard time with this fight. His acting doesn't seem to fool the guard, though the sudden shout scares him. But both of the follow up attacks unfortunately miss. Frightened 1
Unfortunately, these guys have a really high AC so that wasn't a crit (by 1) Annabelle uses her ki power to heal herself before flying up the ladder and attempting to claw the guard at the top twice. The first claw slices right through his armor but the second is an wide miss. 9 damage to orange
Following her sister's action, Amberly heals herself. She then moves away from the aggressive harpies.
Hobb swings his scimitar at the weaker harpy once, slicing deep into it. He then releases a wave of fire at the harpies hitting both harpies. Surprisingly, the nearly dead weak harpy is able to dodge the worst of the fire while the stronger one takes the full blast. Luckily, the weak harpy is still burned enough to drop him.
Nice job, dropped one of the enemies! I will bot Kali, then make my monster's post!

The orange guard tries to return his blow against Annabelle as they have been just trading attacks back and forth. His first swing hits and it hits hard. It struck a vital location, hurting her a lot. 24 damage to Annabelle... sorry...
The blow manages to knock the poor tiger like gnome to the ground as she begins the fight for her life. As if not even realizing what he is doing, he puts away his kukri and pulls out his long bow again.
The dark blue guard tries to take care of the pesky goblin who has been causing so much trouble. His first swing hits hard causing more blood loss, but the second swing also hits making the goblin drop to the ground. The guard then puts his kukri away. 32 damage to Old Wrinkleface. Rounds like this make me feel really mean as a GM.
The bigger harpy is happy to see the fight starting to turn in his favor so he continues to attack Hobb! His morningstar strikes Hobb right across the head, nearly knocking the half orc unconscious. These rolls are insane...43 damage with that crit! Since Hobb is still standing, he hits him once with his talon as well, knocking Hobb out. 57 damage to Hobb... I can not believe the rolls this fight. Feel free to take a look at the numbers I am rolling.

Annabelle makes a Heroic Recovery! Despite her wounds her eyes pop open and she gasps!
You can spend 1 Hero Point at the start of your turn or when your dying value would increase in order to return to 1 Hit Point, no matter how close to death you are. You lose the dying and wounded conditions and become conscious.
She pulls out a mistform elixir, drinks it, and appears very cloudy. Then she pulls out a healing potion.

Old Wrinkleface also makes a heroic recovery!
"Ack! I dead!" he groans. Then he tilts his head to the side, sticks out his tongue, and closes his eyes.
Deception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Then he slowly crawls over to the ladder and tries to flop down it. When he gets to the bottom he tries to hide under the platform.
I have three move actions to get down the ladder and another action to hide under the platform.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Hobb also makes a Heroic Recovery! "Sarenrae!" he gasps. He presses a hand to his chest that glows with holy light, healing his wounds repeatedly.

The tiger gnome suddenly bursts back to life. It is a heroic feat indeed. She then chugs down a misty potion plus prepares a healing one. She begins to look like she is made of mist.
Old Wrinkleface is finally able to sell the act to the guard now that he experienced real death. He uses this opportunity to crawl down the ladder and hide.
Hobb feels better suddenly, most likely from the same source as the other members of the group but then calls the power of his goddess to heal his wounds. She seems to oblige as he slow reverts to near perfect condition.
Man, the dice are not friendly for this fight! It doesn't help that my AC seems to be a bit high. Alunarious tosses two bombs at the red harpy but both seem to loft over his shoulders, dealing no damage.
Kali finishes climbing the ladder and is able to strike the guard once! 14 damage to dark blue
It is really tricky to bot spell casters so I will give Amberly another day before I bot her. This fight is too close for me to feel like I am wasting her actions and spells.
