Since everybody except Topaz has chimed in and agreed to Esdras' breakdown, and there's a certain catharsis to everybody getting a 16 or 17 to start with, I'm fine with fudging that one 15 to a 16. I think it works out really well and it has the kind of even stat distribution and cooperative decision making I was looking for.
As long as Topaz has no objection, I think we go with what Esdras has proposed.
DM Omen
Just the theme feat. But I know that at least one person was very interested in a trait, so we can find ways to work them into your build if need be. The easy way would be to take the "additional trait" feat, but if you're going to be feat hungry and that would feel bad for your build we could look at alternative like replacing some racial abilities.
Draegar Ironhide
Well, this character got out of hand fast.
While reading the Steamsuit Pilot prestige class I noted the section about the kinds of weapons Steamsuits use, and then I went down a rabbit hole about how cool it would be if my character could use the exact same weapons in or out of the steamsuit.
So now I don't have a steamsuit yet, but I do have a [b]really big sword[/i], and I can use it in one hand, because I'm a madman.
And later, I'm going to throw it.
Esdras Martalen
@DM OMEN: What are your thoughts on Variant Multiclassing? If you are ok with it, I'd take a fighter VMC for Esdras, trading 5 feats for Bravery, Armor Training 1&2 and Weapon Training 1&2.
I'm asking this because I'd like to take feats that affected his sword and unfortunately there aren't a bunch of them aside from the Weapon Focus-Specialization chain and the coolest ones require a levels of fighter, which this VMC would provide. Not a big deal if you are against it, of course.
Also, what are your thoughts about crafting magic items? I'm intending to pick Craft Magic Arms and Armor so I have a way to "unlock the dormant Sword of Arcos potential".
DM Omen
@Draegar - Fair enough!
Ah yes I see you're using the effortless lace and bastard sword combo. I can only imagine the terrifying visage that would be to gaze upon!
However do keep in mind that in order to wield a bastard sword in one hand it takes exotic weapon proficiency, which as far as I can tell you don't seem to be picking up from any source. Also with taking additional traits the 2nd time you seem to have picked up Arms Master, which is a tiefling trait.
Also you seem to be treating a lot of skills are class skills. You have vagabond child which gives you disable device, and being a crossbred human (I assume) in this setting allows you to pick any one skill to make a class skill. However you additionally have stealth and knowledge (engineering) as class skills, neither of which are class skills for a savage technologist.
DM Omen
@Esdras - I am familiar with VMC but have never actually used or experienced the results of those rules. From what I understand there's some cheese that can be performed with such rules, but going VMC with fighter in order to unlock other feats sounds good to me. Go for it.
I'd prefer to avoid crafting feats, at least the larger ones. Scrolls and potions and the like are fine. I do know that one aspect of my GM style that needs work is proper loot management, and being able to craft magic items at half price hugely unbalances such things. So for the sake of my own sanity and (hopefully) self-improvement, no to major crafting feats.
However don't let that deter you from working on "unlocking the dormant power" of your sword! That is definitely something I'd love to explore, we will just do it without the need for any feats ;)
Topaz of Flint
I’m good with the stat distribution - thanks for doing the work, Esdras!
I’m going to be busy all day but will work on my crunch tonight.
Sevas, you and I should probably coordinate some on skill choices since we’re both starting from bardish beginnings and could have overlap. I’m thinking it may make sense for me to pick up a level of rogue with the rest being bard (street performer archetype), reflecting Topaz’s involvement with the Whispers and what she’s learned from it.
Sorry to be out of touch during this busy startup phase, but i didn’t schedule this wedding... :)

Sorry to be out of touch during this busy startup phase, but i didn’t schedule this wedding... :)
Talking about weddings, I'll be wedding next saturday (22/09). I fully believe that I'll be able to post normally during the next weeks, but if I'm absent next weekend, it means my escape plans were discovered and I'll be busy...
Caspian "Cass" Abernathy
Question. How do you feel about summons? Im working through the feat list right now and haven't really made any decisions yet.
I also went through the spells and found this gem that I didn't know existed:
https://www.aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Influence%20Wild%20Magic
And was thinking of having that be a spell that Cass had actually discovered himself as part of his research into the wild/dead magic zones around Thane. How would you feel about that being one of the first big breakthroughs he has made?
DM Omen
I'm actually a summoning expert, it was the first character I ever created and is also one of my favorite types of character to play.
Just make sure that you know the stats of your minions and exactly what they are capable of. And try not to summon like 20 creatures at once. That tends to slow down combat and with that many summons they tend to be cannon fodder anyways.
Wow that is a very interesting spell! However it's from a very recent source and I think it would be somewhat unbalancing for the setting. Perhaps at later levels you guys might be able to better deal with the Wild and dead magic around Thane, but right now I want to make sure it's still a significant obstacle. I want to avoid spoilers but it is important to the plot that people don't have easy ways to deal with it.
However I would not be opposed to your character researching such magic for the future. I would just want it to be a bit of an investment, and I think it's something that would be a lot of fun to explore!
DM Omen
While we're here, I have an issue that needs to be addressed before we start.
If you guys hadn't picked up from the mentions of slave trading, drugs, and sex trafficking in the player's guide and/or recruitment, my games do tend to go to some dark places on occasion. I always do my best to be tactful, and am never gratuitous. That being said, I would like to know what your limits/preferences are for darker themes. Topics to consider are:
Sex
Violence
-Torture
-Gore
Horror
-Madness
Drugs
-Addiction
Slavery
-Sex trafficking
If there are other dark themes that somebody thinks of or is concerned about, please feel free to share. Also if you are more comfortable sending a private message to me that is fine as well.
As I said I am never gratuitous and tend to use the "fade to black" approach if necessary on some of the more graphic things, but I just want to test the waters and understand what my players are thinking on this topic.
Sevas Deraika
Topaz, Sevas’ knowledge set is definitely going to geared more toward adventuring, with history and religion tossed in. A little overlap is ok, never know when you’ll fail the heck out of a roll. As for the adult themes, I’m ok with any of it. I’ve been in games that were exclusively dark and mature themed, with a gore loving horror movie buff as the DM. I’m still working on getting my WiFi working, I’ll probbaly just go to Starbucks and boost WiFi from there to get everything caught up.
Esdras Martalen
I believe Esdras is mostly done. I've traded the hateful racial trait for 'dual-minded' (hundred-minded?) that gives +2 on will saves. I believe it is quite fitting. The only part that is still missing is his appearance and personality.
@DM OMEN: I'd like to know your thoughts about the occult skill unlocks. According to the rules, occult characters can use a couple skills in different ways. As far as I've read, all of them take some time to work and no one is actually powerful, but for sure are flavorful.
I'm also ok with all the adult themes.
DM Omen
It looks like dual minded is a half-elf trait that costs 2 race points. I'm fine with allowing it because it's very thematically appropriate, but choose up to 2 race points worth of abilities to lose in exchange for it and we're good!
I am not even vaguely familiar wirh the occult skill unlocks. Based on skimming briefly they don't seem broken so I will probably allow them. What do you plan on doing with them?
Draegar Ironhide
However do keep in mind that in order to wield a bastard sword in one hand it takes exotic weapon proficiency
It takes an exotic weapon proficiancy to wield a bastard sword in one hand without penalty. ;)
Also with taking additional traits the 2nd time you seem to have picked up Arms Master, which is a tiefling trait.
Mechanically, I can pick it up with Adopted. I just left it off because it's superfluous and because we aren't playing in Golarion. If I need to include a bit in my background where I was taken in by a family of militant teiflings I guess I can.
Also you seem to be treating a lot of skills are class skills.Oops! That was a copy/paste error. Thanks for the catch. Audited and fixed.

This is my preferred method of handling sex, torture, and other potentially uncomfortable things.
I don't mind "Rated R" games. Lets keep the stuff that would bump it up to X or NC-17 "off camera."
DM Omen

Hmm, I think This FAQ says otherwise. Do we need to somehow work some bastard sword proficiency into your build? We can figure out a way to do that.

Tieflings don't really exist in this setting. However if the trait is important to your build we can reflavor it to be more appropriate. Something like:
Born Prisoner
You have the blood of a fighter but were raised in the civilized lands basically as a prisoner. Getting into scraps with your peers and fellow inmates has taught you to make the most of what's nearby when a fight breaks out.
Benefit: You take a –2 penalty on attack rolls made with weapons with which you are not proficient instead of the normal –4.
How does that sound? I'm open to suggestions and edits as well.

Oh yes I definitely don't ever plan on going rated X. That would certainly be gratuitous. I'm in agreement with you there.
I have Sevas’ build on paper, i’ll have it posted for review and changes later tonight. I’m currently getting another part of my video game arm sleeve done.
Nice, and that sounds awesome!
DM Omen
More on Draegar's build: I believe the intent is to wield a bastard sword with one hand without penalties, correct? I think heirloom weapon can help you out there. Perhaps you somehow managed to get your mother's old weapon, either from her or from a friend? Perhaps one of the guards stole her weapon when she was captured and had been using it but Draegar managed to retrieve it on his way out?

Well that's... weird.
I've always treated it as a 1-handed exotic weapon with a special caveat that allowed it to be used in 2 hands as a martial weapon because that's what the rules in the book say, and also because it's what makes sense in terms of realism.
Are there any other exotic weapons that can't be wielded at all without the proficiency?
I don't want to go down a rabbit hole of rules minutia here, but that FAQ is just... nonsensical.

So that would give me proficiency in that particular bastard sword and no others? No, I don't think I like that idea. I have plans for making better weapons out of special materials, and for eventually making an even bigger sword for my Steamsuit.
How about I trade out the Human bonus skill point per level for ExWP Bastard Sword?
Seems like a not particularly balanced trade, but whatever. I'm stuck on this 'big mech, big sword" idea now.
DM Omen
Ah I understand. And upon reflection I agree with your view that this FAQ is unreasonable.
I also don't want to get too far bogged down on the rules, and you have already invested multiple feats into making this build functional. Go ahead and build the character as you were, although go ahead and reflavor that one trait that I suggested :)
Topaz of Flint
I just typed in most of my crunch to my profile, only to have the site eat it. Sigh. Will try again tomorrow.
I’m going for Bard (street performer) 3/Rogue (chameleon) 1. Stat breakdown (counting the human +2 and the level 4 +1) is Str 10, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 13, Wis 13, Cha 18.
For feats, I’m looking at Extra Performance, Lingering Performance, and Stealthy. Skills emphasis is going to be on social stuff like bluff, diplomacy, disguise, and sense motive along with perform (sing and oratory). For combat, I’m thinking crossbow, with dagger or short sword when necessary.
Anyone have thoughts about which spells will be most useful?
Topaz of Flint
Oh, and in terms of difficult content: as long as we’re fading to black on the nasty details, I’m ok with it. I’m not a fan of heavy gore or explicit sex scenes, but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re talking about.
I mean, I wrote my character to be dealing directly with sex trafficking, so I can’t exactly complain! :)
Caspian "Cass" Abernathy
Alright, Cass is done. Well, I think he is done. Take a look on my profile. I had way too much gear to put on the profile so I included a link to a spreadsheet with the gear. God, I spent WAY too much time combing through the Pathfinder SRDs for that and calculating everything.
Side note: handy haversacks are a wizard's best friend.
Anyways - let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything that seems off or weird to you. I have a second sheet I maintain that includes all my math as well.
As for your question - I agree with Doomed Hero. I don't mind Rated R - just not X.
Caspian "Cass" Abernathy
Also, Esdras. I love your sheet - what did you use to generate it? And how did you get it to link directly to it from your profile?
DM Omen
@Topaz - Welcome to one of the joys of the Paizo boards. I highly recommend that every time you do a large write up, save it on your clipboard or a word document before hitting submit. Every single time. It will save you from many headaches.
@Cass - Very neat and organized! However I did notice a few things:
I don't notice anywhere for "special abilities", such as race and class abilities to be listed. I know that as a wizard most of your impact comes from your spell selections, but you do have some racial and class abilities that are notable.
Your skills section seems to list a total of 32 skill points, but doesn't list where they all come from. Make sure you have the correct breakdown in the parentheses.
Nitpicky, but you list yourself under the spoiler as still level 1.
Wizard stuff: I noticed that you have "spells memorized", but don't seem to have your completed spellbook noted anywhere. I don't expect you to write out every cantrip (since as a wizard you have all of them), but I would like a completed list of all 1st and above level spells you have learned. Also, and this will likely fall under the "special abilities" section, what are your focus and opposition schools?
Perhaps I'm miscalculating, but are you supposed to have that many feats? 1 for existing, 1 given campaign feat, 1 for being a crossbred human, scribe scroll is free as a wizard, and another feat at 3rd level. I think that puts you 1 short of what you actually have, but perhaps I'm missing something. Also I'm still not sure on the idea of having two different campaign traits since you list both skyseer and technologist. Perhaps you were deciding between the two and forgot to get rid of the one you decided against? Or perhaps I'm simply missing where you picked up an extra feat from :)
The offsite gear is fine, it's very neat and organized and easy to get to :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a side note to everybody, I apologize if I'm coming off as nitpicky. I think it's important for a GM to understand how the crunch of their players worked, so down the line when somebody uses some bizarre ability or cluster of feats I can nod and go "Yes I understand how that works" instead of "Wow where the hell did that come from?!?" Indeed I'm going to have some research to do into the occultist class since I've never had it run in a game of mine, although I see it functions (with that archetype) as vaguely like a black blade magus.
DM Omen
Also, Esdras. I love your sheet - what did you use to generate it? And how did you get it to link directly to it from your profile?
I'm not sure where he generated the sheet, but you can hyperlink into your header by putting them into your race/class/levels sections on your character sheet.
Speaking of which, I see that several of you are already including stat lines on your headers, which is awesome! You are free to put whatever you want on there for self reference, the only thing that I request is that you put defensive stats (such as AC and saves and the like) so that mid combat I can quickly check your defenses without getting into your character sheet.
Caspian "Cass" Abernathy
I don't notice anywhere for "special abilities", such as race and class abilities to be listed. I know that as a wizard most of your impact comes from your spell selections, but you do have some racial and class abilities that are notable.
Fixed. Must have accidentally deleted that section.
Your skills section seems to list a total of 32 skill points, but doesn't list where they all come from. Make sure you have the correct breakdown in the parentheses.
Nitpicky, but you list yourself under the spoiler as still level 1.
Fixed both of these as well. Forgot to include the 2 Background skills in the parenthesis.
Wizard stuff: I noticed that you have "spells memorized", but don't seem to have your completed spellbook noted anywhere. I don't expect you to write out every cantrip (since as a wizard you have all of them), but I would like a completed list of all 1st and above level spells you have learned. Also, and this will likely fall under the "special abilities" section, what are your focus and opposition schools?
The completed spellbook is on the equipment sheet. There's so many (and that list is going to only get larger) that I thought it would be easier this way. Especially since he has two spellbooks (and one of them is nearly full). I can add them to the list - but for a comprehensive breakdown - the spreadsheet has them. Let me know if you want them there for sure!
He also doesn't have any focus or opposition schools - the Exploiter archetype gives that up in favor of greater versatility. I chose Exploiter to represent Cass' constant experimentation with magic itself - he hasn't focused on any one school, but magic as a whole.
As a result he gave up his Arcane School and Arcane Bond abilities. I was, just FYI, planning on eventually picking up a familiar (and Improved Familiar too) so he could have a stronger physical connection to magic itself eventually.
Perhaps I'm miscalculating, but are you supposed to have that many feats? 1 for existing, 1 given campaign feat, 1 for being a crossbred human, scribe scroll is free as a wizard, and another feat at 3rd level. I think that puts you 1 short of what you actually have, but perhaps I'm missing something. Perhaps you were deciding between the two and forgot to get rid of the one you decided against? Or perhaps I'm simply missing where you picked up an extra feat from :)
Yeah! I swapped out Skilled human ability for Frontier Survivor which grants the Technologist feat which is NOT the same as the theme feat. Now that my Special Abilities are included in the sheet maybe it makes sense.
Cass is a brain and has spent plenty of time around Technology in Thane that I wanted to make sure his skill checks would be applicable to technology. By default PCs "treat all skill checks made against technology as if they were untrained skill checks. This may mean that you cannot attempt certain skill checks, even if you possess ranks in the skill in question." At least that is what the Technologist feat says.
I don't know if this is still true in your world - but since you included the Frontier Survivor giving that extra feat in your Player's Guide, I assumed it was. If it isn't - let me know as I'd happily swap that ability for something else.
So the feats are:
Additional Traits (1st level)
Spell Focus: Conjuration (Human)
Augment Summoning (3rd level)
Scribe Scroll (Wizard bonus)
Skyseer (Theme)
Technologist (from Frontier Survivor human ability)
DM Omen
Ah I see the completed spellbook. Very nice!
Ah I missed the full effects of that archetype. Full disclosure: I'm not a big fan of the arcanist. I know that the arcanist has some weird and cheesy options such as using quick study to have basically every spell available to them at all times. As long as those more cheesy abilities are avoided I'm alright with it.
Yeah! I swapped out Skilled human ability for Frontier Survivor which grants the Technologist feat which is NOT the same as the theme feat. Now that my Special Abilities are included in the sheet maybe it makes sense.
Ahhhhhh, I thought I was missing something. Yes that's fine, thanks for pointing that out.
Yes by default PCs treat all checks against tech as if untrained, although having either technologist feat will alleviate that.
Looks good!
Esdras Martalen
It looks like dual minded is a half-elf trait that costs 2 race points. I'm fine with allowing it because it's very thematically appropriate, but choose up to 2 race points worth of abilities to lose in exchange for it and we're good!
Hum, this is weird. Back during the recruitment you said that I could look for any racial trait to replace Hatred, so I went to the d20pfsrd site on the race builder page and picked the Dual-Minded trait, where it is listed as a 1 RP trait. I did not remember that it was a half-elf trait. Looking at the half-elf, it replaces adaptability, which technically is a specific feat, costing 2 RP, but also Skill Focus isn't that good, so perhaps the 1 RP for Dual-Minded is correct. However, if you think that it is indeed worth 2 RP, I'll give up to Emissary as well, probably also changing his selected skill from Cosmopolitan from Bluff to Knowledge (arcana).
I am not even vaguely familiar wirh the occult skill unlocks. Based on skimming briefly they don't seem broken so I will probably allow them. What do you plan on doing with them?
Not too much:
Automatic Writing (linguistics): Since Esdras already has augury as a spell known, I'd use it simply as a way to avoid paying the 25gp material component. This is 1/week trick, so hardly powerful.Hypnotism (diplomacy): I don't think Esdras would ever use the implant suggestion application, since it doesn't fit him. The recall memory use, however, is more fitting, since he would be helping someone to access their mind with the same techniques that he had developed for himself in the last years.
Prognostication (sense motive): I believe it is fitting for Esdras to use pyromancy, a technique once employed by Vazrik Karmirarj (the trapped shaman soul). He would not use this against everyone of course, but perhaps against a notable enemy/ally.
Psychometry (appraise): This is entirely up to you, since it only gives information you as a GM is willing to share. Esdras's connection with his sword might have enhanced his ability to sense other objects/places as well. He already possess the Battle Reading ability which does this without a check for armors, shields and weapons.
Read Aura (perception): This is very similar to Prognostication, but I think it is far less fitting. I don't see Esdras making much use of it.
Also, Esdras. I love your sheet - what did you use to generate it? And how did you get it to link directly to it from your profile?
Thanks! I've actually just used Microsoft Word and some formatting. Then I saved it in my OneDrive and used the [url][/url[ for the link.
Indeed I'm going to have some research to do into the occultist class since I've never had it run in a game of mine, although I see it functions (with that archetype) as vaguely like a black blade magus.
The occultist's "magic" is derived from the objects he possess. Without the archetype he would have 1 object/school of magic he chooses, but with the archetype his Sword of Arcos represents all these objects together. Much like an arcane bond, Esdras has to have the object in his hands, otherwise he is screwed (having to make a concentration check with a DC = 20 + spell level).
The only difference between arcane magic and psychic magic are the components. They swap Somatic Components for Emotion Components and Verbal Components for Thought Components. They can also use alternative Material Components.
Emotion Component: Emotion components represent a particular emotional state required to cast the spell. A psychic spellcaster marshals her desire in order to focus and release the spell’s energy. It is impossible to cast a spell with an emotion component while the spellcaster is under the influence of a non-harmless effect with the emotion or fear descriptors. Even if the effect’s emotion matches the necessary emotion to cast the psychic spell, the spellcaster is not in control of her own desires and animal impulses, which is a necessary part of providing an emotion component.
Thought Component: Thought components represent mental constructs necessary for the spell’s function, such as picturing a wolf in vivid detail—down to the saliva dripping from its jaws—in order to cast beast shape to transform into a wolf. Thought components are so mentally demanding that they make interruptions and distractions extremely challenging. The DC for any concentration check for a spell with a thought component increases by 10. A psychic spellcaster casting a spell with a thought component can take a move action before beginning to cast the spell to center herself; she can then use the normal DC instead of the increased DC.
Alternative Material Components: Psychic spells have only expensive material components. When a spell calls for an expensive material component, a psychic spellcaster can instead use any item with both significant meaning and a value greater than or equal to the spell’s component cost. For example, if a spiritualist wanted to cast raise dead to bring her dead husband back from the grave, she could use her 5,000 gp wedding ring as the spell’s material component.
Indeed there's some debate to be had on exactly how much different racial traits are worth. However dual minded is a rather strong ability in the flat bonus to will saves (which is the equivalent of a feat worth of power), so I think I'm going to stick with having it cost 2 race points.
From what I can see of the occult skill unlocks, nothing seems crazy powerful, and most of it is heavily subject to GM fiat anyways since they're mostly divination style abilities. Go ahead and use them.
Hmm, I like your summary of the psychic magic. It indeed is a good theme to explore with the Berivian Veteran theme as well.
Thanks for the info!
Ok, removed the Emissary trait to pay for the difference and swapped bluff for knowledge (arcana).
Not sure if you noticed, but I've included in my sheet a "collection of fallen companions' amulets" that will serve as the focus for the augury spell instead of maked sticks or bones, since i thought it would be more fitting and interesting. Are we good?
I'm working in my appearance/personality and should be able to post in the following minutes.
Caspian "Cass" Abernathy
Noted. I'll make some adjustments to get rid of the Quick Study exploit and see what happens. I'll have something updated by tomorrow
Esdras Martalen
Here it is. I believe I'm finally done.
I'd like to point a couple of key points about Esdras and his Sword: He is cursed by It and even if he doesn't refuse help, since that would be nonsensical, such help is difficult, for he doesn't share his state with anyone. The reasons for this are actually quite simple... first he don't think anyone would believe him; second, he fears that he would be treated as a lunatic; and third, he secretly fears that he is actually insane.
When the he feels that he can really trust the other players, he might tell them about the sword but, until then, he will lie and deny, even if it is obvious that he is not telling the truth.
Esdras is a middle aged man with 41 years old still strong and healthy. He is 6 ft. 3 in. high and weighs about 210 lbs. His skin is fair and his eyes, hair and beard are black, even if showing signs of grey and white. His hair is always short and his beard is full but trimmed. He usually wears noble clothes or his armor, but always keeps his sword nearby, even when it is clear that such a weapon is not necessary.
When younger, Esdras was charismatic and impulsive, traits abandoned when he returned from the war. Even if somewhat charming, Esdras is taciturn and intellectual, preferring to think twice before giving a statement. His actual condition with the imprisoned souls have made him even more introspective. Generally quiet and restrained, Esdras can be very passionate when the occasion calls for it, mostly when the war and its soldiers are the topic of conversation. He is also very passionate about his sword, getting angry and anxious when others try to handle it. Even if unlikely, he doesn’t want anyone else to be cursed. Esdras also values loyalty. He was asked numerous times to return from the war in the past and he always refused, since he sensed it was his duty to stay and fight. He is loyal both to his country and to those who serve besides him. More than once he was called a stubborn man, something that he doesn’t see as a flaw, at least not always. In the particular case of his sword, Esdras sees his headstrongness as an asset, for it drives him forward.
I’ve about had it with the hotel wifi here - it works fine with my iPad, but cutting and pasting and switching between windows doesn’t work as well there, so I try my computer, but the wifi won’t hold a signal with it for some reason... ugh. I’m heading to part 2 of this trip tomorrow so hopefully will have better access. I have things pretty much figured out, but have been stymied trying to get them all in one place
In the meanwhile: holy heck, Cass, Topaz is definitely getting one of those haversacks. I was trying to figure out how to have enough gear to be useful when working with Str 10 limits!
Caspian "Cass" Abernathy
Look at the Muleback Cords for a cheaper option, Topaz! The haversack pretty much ate half my finances and the rest got spent on spells.
DM Omen
Sounds good Sevas, hope you have fun at Disney!
Guys I won't nickel and dime you too hard on carrying capacity. As long as you're not carrying something crazy like 50 pounds over your limit and you're not wearing a crazy amount, I tend to not get too concerned about how much "backpack gear" you guys have. In fact I almost always supply my party with a bag of holding very quickly, but since this game is starting level 4 I will give you guys one as soon as you're brought together as a party.
Topaz of Flint
Okay, I have finally gotten wifi that will behave, and I've put in a profile. I hope I did all the math right; I was using an app that's supposed to do all the calculations, but I'm not sure it did them all correctly and I know I always get tangled in them myself.
I have a fair chunk of gold left, so I may add more gear. I'm figuring that whatever gold I do end up with is actually the Whispers' money, not Topaz's, and could be available at need but beyond some reasonable amount of "spending money" wouldn't be immediately accessible to Topaz. (Most of what she's carrying would have been provided by them too.)
