Orianna and Quiq spot a mass of feathers lying underneath a pile of trash and debrie in the center of the room. Sharp, birdlike eyes stare at them, clearly waiting to leap to ambush them as they get closer....
Still not in rounds just yet, but you both are aware of each other... first hostile motion will official start the rounds.

Quig holds his hand in a fist. He looks to the others, points to his eyes, then into the room, then flaps his arms and bobs his head like a chicken, he seems to realize that he mike look a little silly.
Then with a quick thought sends a test message to the others Comlinks.

The thing recoils from the blast of psychic damage, tossing aside trash and debris.
While it has feathers and hawk like eyes, that's where the similarities end. It's body is undulating, constantly shifting colors and shape and it screeches at the pathfinders as it begins to lumber forward on feathered pseudopod like legs.

STARFINDERS WIN! VICTORY!
I mean, when you have two crits from the big bruiser and failed will saves on mind thrust, it's going to be a quick battle.
With the thing dead, it'll be no trouble to call the cleanup crew. Now all that remains is to retrieve the fabled Album Star Sugar HEARTLOVE!!!
After killing a ferocious feathered beast, the Starfinders might think they are prepared for anything. No mountain to high, no vastness of space to deep to delve for treasure and knowelege.
Then, they see the line. The line to buy a album stretches for miles in Absalom station's entertainment district. And the starfinders are told by excited fans that this is the line to get into the building where the real line is.
This... may not be as easy as it looks. The only thing to be done... is to wait.
and wait.
And Wait.
AND WAIT.
It is six hours before the doors of the album seller is in sight.
Everyone can give me a fort save DC 12 to avoid becoming fatigued. You can also get bonuses by telling me anything your doing to try and make your hours in the line pass a little easier on you... just be careful not to anger the fans already in line!

"Good thing you brought counsel." Keyrock remarks as the feathered for falls.
Heading to the album seller, the dwarf sighs when he sees the line.
After a few moments in line, he hands his cousin a cred stick, enough for a couple of albums. Then, he pulls out his comm link and begins talking speaking loudly into it, "You don't say! You don't say!"
Placing his hand on the receiver, Keyrock turns to the others and loudly announces in a whispering tone, "One of my clients, an Eoxian network exec, just informed me that they are filming Strawberry Machine Cake doing a live surprise signing of the album, here at Absalom Station at hotel right across the street from here."
"You guys stay here, so no one is the wiser and I'll go get us an armload of aigned copies. Can you believe it? I get to meet the band! STRAWBERRY MACHINE CAKE! Oh My Deities! Don't tell anyone. I've got to go!". He takes off running, hoping a mob will follow.

Radokama frowns and looks from the dead monster, to the scorch mark left by his wayward shot, and back to the monster. "Damn," he says. Avoiding eye contact with the others, he ejects the battery from his rifle and replaces it with the spare.
In line:
Radokama sees the size of the line and sets about maintaining his gear. He starts by completely disassembling his plasma bolter, cleaning it, and putting it back together. Next, he works on his armor, oiling joints that stick and making sure the life support systems don't flash any warnings. When he finishes with his gear, he spends some time seemingly in a trance while he uses the custom rig in his head to access the infosphere. He sighs as he browses through the latest models of power armor for sale on the station, checks his credit balance, and sighs again.

Orianna takes the credsticks from her cousin and waits as he requested. She watches him go without a word.

HELLO! HOW MANY COPIES OF STAR SUGAR HEARTLOVE WOULD YOU LIKE TODAY!?
Ziggy provided you the 50 creds for the gift for historia. If you wish to buy a copy for yourself, you can pay 50 creds to buy it, and you can buy a extra copy to give to Ziggy as well. Since your current god of the universe loves Strawberry Machine Cake to, I won't mind if you buy your copy on credit for this adventure if your short on actual creds. Your choice!
Keyrock Marbleheart
|
Keyrock will purchase a copy for himself (though likely for its resale value as he prefers traditional dwarven dirges), though he will have to utilize his firm credit card (should have demanded a higher "retainer fee" from the party for the last assignment).
Orianna Marbleheart
|
Orianna looks at the album cover in confusion. This was the purpose of the line? What mysteries did this music hold that caused such mayhem and crowds? ...Surely it must be worthwhile if they had to endure such trials just to purchase it..? ...She had best buy a copy.
Orianna buys two copies of the album. One for History-7 and one for herself. Remembering how excited Zigvigix seemed over the event she purchases one for him, as well. Orianna will use 100 credits of her upcoming money to buy herself and Ziggy a copy.
Radokama 220629-702
|
Somewhat dazed, Radokama approaches the cashier bot. More because everyone else buys one than any personal desire to listen to the music, Radokama purchases a copy for himself (though he does need to use funds earned over the course of the day).
Just wanted to point out, that line was actually more deadly than the warehouse monster! It did the same number of damage and fatigued some of us.

With copies purchased, the team slides away from the crowds and heads back to Ziggy, who is actually at the warehouse now, directing people removing things from the warehouse and carting off the dead body of the feathery thing.
Hello Starfinder Friends!
They say with excitement.
Well done with removing the beast! This will make a wonderful new base once we move our things in!

"Are you sure you have all of your permits in order for this warm house space?" Keyrock asks, offering the shirren a card.
Radokama 220629-702
|
Radokama looks around the warehouse, noting how different it seems now without the threat of being torn apart by a feathered nightmare. He looks away uncomfortably and takes a half step back when Ziggy thanks them for killing the monster, refusing to accept any credit.
"So," he says after a few moments, "Next mission is for Aquisitives, correct? Shall we finish the commencement?" He seems eager for a new chance to prove himself.
Flenn
|
Flenn nods. "Yeah, let's check out the last of these factions." He looks up on the infosphere directions to how to get to their contact point for the Aquisitives leader. "Weird that all these little groups spring up inside the society. Almost makes you wonder if there are other factions, maybe with fewer members, lurking around. Secret societies and such." He glances among the group warily ... then chuckles. "Just kidding. Ah, here it is." He leads the way to the next contact.
Orianna Marbleheart

Orianna wordlessly passes a copy of the album over to Zigvigix (as well as the copy for Historia-7).
Then she turns and follows the others out of the warehouse.

Ziggy looks at Orianna and holds the album with reverance.
You... you got one... for me?
It's a little hard to tell over a psychic connection, but Ziggy sounds almost ready to cry with appreciation.
Thank you. I appreciate it so much...
The twitch their mandibles and walk over to a shelf.

I'm sorry I don't have more creds to give you. But you should have some fun with the gernades. Just don't blow yourself up! I like you!
Ziggy then pulls something out of another drawer and hands it to Orianna.
This used to be mine, but it's been a long time since i could do field missions, and I'm unlikely to be able to do so anytime soon.
The gift is a Charge Cloak, of fine make and quality.

The plain white doors of the office slide open to reveal a stark, dimly lit room. The chamber is bleak and expressionless in its emptiness—no vanities line its smooth black walls, and no signs of use mar its smooth black furniture. The only occupants of the suite are a bug-eyed tadpole wriggling in a glowing blue aquarium and a reptilian vesk seated behind an onyx desk. The vesk gestures to a number of chairs in front of him, his features sharply illuminated by the light of his desk’s green holoscreen.
“The new graduates,” he greets, in a low and pleasant voice.
“Good day. I am Radaszam, though since you are here, I should hope you already knew. I trust you are aware of our Society’s traditions, so I will cut to the point. I have a minor situation that needs resolution. One of our members, a human named Laboni, had a rather public altercation with a junk scavenger from the Spike. You might be more familiar with the scavenger than I, actually; he is a ysoki who fancifully calls himself Ratrod. I am told he runs a popular racing competition that has, hmm, several hundreds of thousands of viewers on the station’s infosphere. For some reason, Laboni felt the need to tell him that any ‘real’ mechanic could easily beat the garbage that Ratrod and his associates slap together. Now that Ratrod has issued an infosphere-wide demand that she race him and prove it, Laboni doubts she can back that claim up. Embarrassing, isn’t it? Not really the sort of troublemaker that suits our Society. Perhaps she would be better suited to the bottom of a trash compactor... Well, we cannot afford to throw her out, not after so many Starfinders were lost in the Scoured Stars. Besides, we can’t let people think we are so weak that we can’t control our own members, or that we cannot stand up to a scrapyard junker. No, I would like you to assist Laboni in winning this race. Show our detractors that even the least of our Society is not someone to be trifled with.
Orianna Marbleheart
|
Orianna stands in stunned silence for a solid ten seconds. Finally she seems to snap out of her daze and holds out her hands, accepting the gift with reverence. Gifts were rare among her kin. They had endured generations of the Quest for Sky as prisoners in a simulation, and they had little to spare. But, this... This was special. It was the first gift she had ever been given by someone not of her kind. Someone not a Marbleheart.
"Thank you. I will treasure it. Always."
She fastens on the cloak and bows deeply. Then she turns and leaves with the others.
---
In the austere office, Orianna bows to the vesk. "Greetings. I am Orianna Marbleheart. Many blessings upon you."
"The woman's behaviour is shameful," Orianna agrees. But, a moment later, Radaszam jokes about shoving the human into a trash compactor. Orianna frowns. "Life is sacred," she states. Clearly she is not amused.
At the end of the briefing she nods. "Yes, sir. Where can we find Laboni?"
Flenn
|
Flenn nods. "Got it ... Probably some tweaking on the power coupling will help give an extra boost of speed over what those scrappers can put together. We'll help the loudmouth out, boss, and show that junker you don't challenge the Starfinders."
Keyrock Marbleheart
|
"Have you considered a preemptive libel suit against this Rat Rod? That may generate sufficient press coverage to obfuscate the issue.". Keyrock inquires. "It is a common misconception that one needs a valid reason for filing a legal action."
| GM_Starson |
Radaszam looks at keyrock and chuckles.
You. I like you. I'd rather humiliate him in the race first. It'll make us look better. Solid back up plan though.
He leans forward.
You can find Lubani in the Spike. Show them how we starfinders handle things... and by that...
He gives you each a glare in turn.
I mean don't you make it worse or embarrass us or a trash compacter will seem like a vacation on Eden Theta, Understood?
Orianna Marbleheart
|
Orianna narrows her eyes at Radoszam, clearly unimpressed with the vesk.
