Guests away!
Joriannika would have wandered about, happy to make the aquaintances of the people in town - but she'd make sure to visit the Mason's guildhouse, the Woodworks (these two out of professional curiosity), and the Shrine of the Seven Roses (to pay respect).
Is there any check to be made there, DM?

I'll come of with some sort of retcon for her soon. Can't definitively say whether or not a check is needed.

strange, I've been in here several times in between. It was an on and off for the forum
Thomas 'Bellmanok' Riverdancer
@GM You have ridiculously scattered posting times. Where are you located, if you don't mind me asking?
@all I can strongly recommend the app FLYM (on android at least, don't know about ios). Together with Paizo's thread-specific RSS feeds, one is instantly notified of new posts.

Sorry everyone. I’ve had some weird schedules recently. We had a church retreat this weekend so I was off the grid. I realized halfway yesterday that I failed to check if the forums were up so I could let you know.
I’m in CDT. I try to post whenever everyone else has. Today is my wife’s birthday so I may not be on too much. But I want to move this adventure along, so I’m gonna post here in a minute
Thomas 'Bellmanok' Riverdancer
No problem. Just don't wait for everyone. We're less important than you. Just wait a maximum of 24 hours.
GM Newsie
When the forums are working, that's what I try to do. Per my own rules.
There is a little more I'll need to post about what happens with Thomas and the deputy named Mulle as they go up to the Manor. I'll post that late this evening. We're having some friends over for dinner and board games for my wife's birthday.

Here is a clarification on Ability Score damage, in case anyone's not familiar with it.
Diseases, poisons, spells, and other abilities can all deal damage directly to your ability scores. This damage does not actually reduce an ability, but it does apply a penalty to the skills and statistics that are based on that ability.
For every 2 points of damage you take to a single ability, apply a –1 penalty to skills and statistics listed with the relevant ability. If the amount of ability damage you have taken equals or exceeds your ability score, you immediately fall unconscious until the damage is less than your ability score.
Unless otherwise noted, damage to your ability scores is healed at the rate of 1 per day to each ability score that has been damaged. Ability damage can be healed through the use of spells, such as lesser restoration.
Dexterity: Damage to your Dexterity score causes you to take penalties on Dexterity-based skill checks, ranged attack rolls, initiative checks, and Reflex saving throws. The penalty also applies to your Armor Class, your Combat Maneuver Bonus (if you are Tiny or smaller), and to your Combat Maneuver Defense.

is it ok, if I keep posting unreadable signs?
You could put it into Google Translate and it would tell you that a) it's Persian and b) what thomas is saying.
When someone learns Infernal, I'll post in spoiler, of course.
GM Newsie
It's absolutely fine. That's exactly what I did. It also led me to an afternoon of learning a bit about the Persian language. It was exciting. If I remember correctly, the translation was Deviant beings!
So I told Guru he thought he heard the word "Divine" somewhere in the mix of a slightly similar sounding language.
Hanzo Belkin
Haha, I just realized that Hanzo actually DOES have thieves' tools with him. :P I guess he just didn't want to show anyone he was carrying them just yet. :P :P
Hanzo Belkin
Thanks, but I meant that I made the roll as though he didn't have any, but I didn't check his sheet and got it confused with another character. Hanzo actually does have thieves' tools.
I guess he managed to open the door with just his knives! XD
GM Newsie
I moved everyone into the main corridor, but feel free to rearrange yourself to where you think your PC would have gone to immediately leaving the previous section. Guru, since you were inspecting the other cells, I put you slightly further, but you can place yourself anywhere you'd like.
After you get in position, we'll resume exploring in rounds, using your speed, etc.
GM Newsie
To avoid any confusion, in case anyone is unaware, here is information you all should know:
This enemy is Tiny. He has a reach of 0ft. That means he has to come into your square to attack you, granting you an AoO. It also means that he doesn’t threaten any of the squares around him. You can move around him in circles all day and he won’t get an AoO.
A PC and this enemy can end a turn occupying the same square. That’s okay.
GM Newsie
I also just realized that I wasn't handling that combat correctly at all. According to his stat bloc, he has DR/5 good or silver. So technically, all your attacks should have been reduced by 5 except any attacks with a good or silver quality (like the mithral dagger). Haha! Oops! I guess y'all got lucky on that one!
Thomas 'Bellmanok' Riverdancer
The first table didn't interrogate this imp at all, they obliterated him with a bunch of crits! So, while they're (barely) ahead of you, you have a leg up on information. Nice work everyone!
the work is not finished. we need to calm guru
Guruthos
the work is not finished. we need to calm guru
Yep, and I realize it's a bit of a pain, but Guruthos doesn't distinguish between evil outsiders; he just knows them as "bad." His parents put him through some traumatic crap in the service to evil outsiders, so he's probably not much interested in trusting an imp.
Also, he's made a mental note to follow up with Thomas about the "possessed" thing. I'll have to go back and see how fully Thomas explained it first though.

Responding to G's gameplay question:
While your solution is creative, I'm going to rule against that, and here are my reasons and thoughts:
The opposite side is simply corridor with stone walls floor and ceiling. The stone is, for the most part, pretty smooth. I don't really see where the hook could hook on to anything. If you had something to go into the wall, that might work, but the hook isn't designed for that. Even if it was, it only has a range increment of 30ft. Plus I think neither you nor your bow has the strength to put enough force to drive it into the wall.
It also seems like it would take some time to do all of that.
THAT SAID
You might try an inverse of that idea. The hook could most definitely latch onto the seven-inch-wide ledge, such as the corner. You would need your rope; and an anchor(s) on the far side.
Guruthos
Actually I like your idea better. With the piton on the ledge side, we would have to leave the rope behind, but hooking it to the ledge and tying it off on the far end would allow us to jiggle the hook free from the ledge. It will take some time to do, but seeing that most of us have already taken damage, and shouldn't take more, it seems like a good plan to try at least.
Guruthos
Guruthos would probably think they'll figure it out when he attaches the hook to the corner end of the ledge, and Thomas ties his end off making a a tight rope for them to walk. If not, he'll demonstrate.
Seriously tho, if this is annoying and I'm overthinking it, just let me know. My feelings won't be hurt. My thinking is that we've already taken damage, and at first level, there's not a lot more to take, so this gives us a chance to get across without taking more. If it's over-the-top, I don't mind slogging through.

On Table 1, our academic wizard had been jotting down notes and sketching out the place / items of interest as they went along, so he was able to pull out his notebook and show his sketch, which sufficed.
If I were feeling cheeky, I'd say to roll Escape Artist, but I'm not gonna make you do that.
You all did examine it, so instead of rolling, pick someone to draw it quickly.
There's a 50% chance it will work if it's done quickly enough.
