Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov takes out a potion of enlarge person and drinks it and then moves to block the exit from the room if he can.
As far as i know I can't attack and drink a potion?
Uelarik the Eldritch |
Uelarik attempts to place the archon close enough such that the caster is effected by the archon's aura of menace. He directs the archon to attack.
Archon Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20; ranged touch
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2; ignores DR
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 83
Archon Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9; ranged touch
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5; ignores DR
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 54
Aura of Menace (Su) A righteous aura surrounds archons that fight or get angry. Any hostile creature within a 20-foot radius of an archon must succeed on a Will save to resist its effects. The save DC varies with the type of archon, is Charisma-based, and includes a +2 racial bonus. Those who fail take a –2 penalty on attacks, AC, and saves for 24 hours or until they successfully hit the archon that generated the aura. A creature that has resisted or broken the effect cannot be affected again by the same archon’s aura for 24 hours.
Uelarik fires a volley of magic missiles at the caster.
MM damage: 3d4 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 4) + 3 + 3 = 17
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 96
Uelarik the Eldritch |
Uelarik will cast flaming sphere and will direct it at the caster.
damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 5, 3) + 3 = 14; DC 21 reflex negates
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 47
The spell description says that the sphere can ascend 30' to strike a target, which sounds like it should be able to hit aerial targets. GM, what do you think?
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Ah ok and ummm.. enlarge won't work on me... can I draw my bow and fire instead please?
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov drops the earthbreaker draws his bow and fires a +1 holy arrow at the tiefling
Longbow+div fav+1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Longbow+div fav+Holy: 1d8 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (2, 2) = 13
Uelarik the Eldritch |
Uelarik directs the flaming sphere at the caster again.
damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) + 3 = 19 DC 21 reflex negates
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 90
Kevin Hurly |
Kevin waits for the position to be called out and again fires three arrows rapidly at the spot.
Mwk Longbow Haste: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 1 = 19 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov screams in pain at the burning pain.. "Arrrrrrrrrrr." he then fires another holy arrow at the Tielfing
Longbow+div fav+1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Longbow+div fav+Holy: 1d8 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (3, 5) = 16
He drops the bow grabs the earthbreaker and uses a mythic power to perform a suprise strike against an opponent within 30ft
Earthbreaker+1 power attack+div fav: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 Opponent is caught flatfooted, which allows allows sneak attack, which allows him to apply his studied target to the opponent
Earthbreaker+1 power attack+div fav+sneak+st: 2d6 + 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 1) + (2) + 18 = 25
He leaps onto the air bashing the Tiefling mightily with a presumably last great effort as he is almost down with his injuries
drbuzzard |
Kevin hits once.
Tanrov:
You can't use the earthbreaker for a ranged attack (or if you do, you take a pretty big penalty). Also, you don't get 2 handed damage with a thrown weapon. Surprise strike does specifically say 'with a ranged or melee attack' so you could just shoot the bow. However it does not magically transport you to the target.
Just do the bow attack again.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Somehow I managed to not see the ranged part of the options.. and ok
Tanrov uses his Suprise Strike to fire another shot with the bow at the Tiefling Uses sneak attack and puts studied target on the spellcaster
Longbow+div fav+1+tier: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Longbow+div fav+Holy+sneak+st: 1d8 + 1d6 + 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (7) + (4) + (5, 6) + 7 = 29
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
"He's down.. woo! Thankyou Grey Lady." Tanrov says very pleased
He then takes out his rope and grappling hook and attempts to hook the tiefling caster down.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
"Lets search em all and then make sure the bridge is still usable" Tanrov begins going through the gear using detect magic to aid
Tanrov also looks at the 3 Holy arrows he fired to see if any survived.
Uelarik the Eldritch |
Uelarik drops down to one knee - clearly exhausted. "That was too close. I will be more ready next time to deal with invisible and flying adversaries."
He will then help Tanrov search the caster.
Xandarian Quartermain |
Xandarian asks the other to gather around him as he channels.

You can find the arrows that missed, as they bounced off the ceiling. The ones which hit are expended (still arrows, but not holy anymore).
The flunkies are just had normal weapons and armor (short swords, chain shirts).
Flying magicky guy had a potion of cure moderate wounds, wand of
dimension door (9 charges); Other ring of protection +1, cloak of resistance +2, 250 gp
Bridge seems to be in good shape since you managed to off the bulls before they could harm the structure. It should be just fine for getting your army across.
The next issue you see which is of a concern for getting your army into proper siege position is the watch towers. There are four, and if you take a close look with a spyglass, you note there are catapults atop them, and some forms manning them which are clearly not humanoid (furry, horned, etc.)
Since your army is lacking in siege artillery you probably have to figure out how to deal with those before you get much closer or they will rain ruin upon your army.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Looking at the towers and potential ways to get to them
"Maybe the wand of dimension door?"
Kevin Hurly |
Kevin looks at the towers "We need to rest and recuperate first. I don't think that wand will get all of us there. Maybe if we were all invisible we might be able to sneak up on one of the towers and wipe it out and then move on to the next one."
Uelarik the Eldritch |
Uelarik nods, "Let's rest for the night. The wand will get us up there and I'll then memorize enough invisibility spells to give us the element of surprise."
He claims the wand.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
"Ok Uelariks idea sounds best, we rest up, then hit the towers one after another with dimension door, probably only need first person in invisible for suprise attack who will support those not invisible."
Tanrov sets camp and rests using his healing spells to restore himself
He will cast divine favour and invisibility on himself before attacking tower 1
Uelarik the Eldritch |
Uelarik casts invisibility on the group and then uses the wand to dimension door the party up to tower 1. "We need to kill this tower before they can warn the others."

Map is up.
Crossbow bolt misses.
As there is a set of stairs to go up, you cannot partial charge during a surprise round. You can move adjacent to the target though. Tanrov will land his hit before it goes.
init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
After getting hit by Tanrov the demon tosses a fireball to the edge of the tower so as to avoid burning the catapult.
Demon tries to cast a spell defensively, but it fizzles.
Kevin smacks the demon as well.
Xan holds his action since nobody is hurt.
Uelarik is up for round 1.
Then Tanrov for round 2.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov will swing at it again, keeping silent to not give themselves away.
