The creature trys to move out of the way of the ball of flame surrounding it and as it does Alamin's well placed sword stab rips through a tendon in its leg causin it to lose its footing on the newly created slick of grease. It falls and the flames coating it ignite the grease, further roasting its now mightely damaged frame; it roars ever louder in fury and pain as it tries to rise.

Despite his savage wounds, the doughty Vraxel slides right behind the enormous creature and sends his razor sharp dagger up and into the creatures body cavity carving a path until it reaches the sick and twisted heart muscle that powers it. The blade cuts through the organ and a dark purplish ichor pours out of the wound as the savage thing falls to the ground. Dead...again.

Randtam is able to piece together some of the notes from the torn pages scattered around the room. Apparently the Count constructed a device that allowed him to control the actions of the Beast of Lepidstadt and other sentient golems. This device was called the 'Bondslave Thrall'.

Randtam notices that there are notes and diagrams made in the margins of the Count's work that of a different ink (red) and written by a different hand. The notes in red seem to be relatively recent. Maybe just a few weeks old.

Vraxel examines the trapdoor and is surprised to find that it is plated in pure adamantine (3,000 GP worth). He disables the arcane lock and the party can go through it now at any time.

Randtam looks inquisitvely at the strands of webbing and lets the party know that they were definitely not spun by a spider of brought by a spell. Maybe some type of Ettercap webbing, but nothing like anything I have ever heard of before. Whatever made this is definitely not natural.
