Hehe, just trying to be creative. It's one thing that would definitely need to be dealt with over the course of multiple days... Lets see how they react ;)
Also, as said, I would not act NOW, regardless...I figure during their first interactions with us they'll be on edge...jumpy. I want them to feel safe before they burn- it will make things easier if they relax their guard a bit.

Robin Weaver |

Just out of curiosity...is the barrel just a mockery?
The fact he moved it closer seems weird.
But as I understood,
Your feet are secured by iron cuffs tethered by one long chain. Your arms are secured to the wall above by manacles.
we can at most shuffle with our feet because we're all chained up in a line there. And our arms are secured to the wall above.
Which means I could not a.: squat down nor b.: remove my clothing.I cannot fathom a way something like a barrel-toilet could be used in such a situation...

Robin Weaver |

...groups go out of their way to track down and kill during their escape.
Sounds like a plan ^_^
Also, seems I really need to pick up Weather early so I can contest Boreas -_-If you truly intend to keep it online permanently, I'll need to try and erode the frost with fire.

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Here's the info on your bonds for when the time comes. This assumes Ardra does the unlocking, of course.
Ardra's manacles are a DC 22 to unlock due to the awkward position and lack of proper visibility. All other bindings are a DC 18 to unlock due to being of identical design. There are a total of seven locks: six manacles and one communal leg chain. Once the leg shackles are unlocked, an individual can free himself/herself from them with a Move Action. The door to your cell opens inward and is a DC 20 to unlock. Aside from the chains and veil, there is a wooden bucket and small bundle of hay in your cell.
If you fail a Disable Device check by 5+, you don't risk breaking the lock. Also, don't worry about Stealth checks at the moment. A failed Disable Device roll means you made a noise. In other words, keep making checks until you fail a roll. Good luck!

Robin Weaver |

One more question: Are those locks that would allow us to PRETEND to be shackled?
As in, could we lure the guards in with the bundle of hay burning in the bucket, then jump on them when they try and find out what happened?

Robin Weaver |

Thanks, YBD, lets see how the unlocking works out for us.
Also, I just realized Ekke has his own Theme Song.
Naturally, Robin will need one too.
Or would this one be an even better fit?

Ekkehardt |

...well, poop.
Well then, it'll be lovly day then!

How about

Light 'em Up!
If you like German
Home after getting shots (NEEDLE) in the back for my injury.
I have nothing to do until dawn tomorrow...

Robin Weaver |

All fine suggestions, but I don't think I should use a theme song with Vocals-
As such, I may as well keep faith with the character pic(and very loose inspiration) and use a song from the OST.
On another note, I'm very much looking forward to showing you what I'm capable of *gg*
It's amusing reading your perspective, also that you include the low int with the considerations.(liability, hu? That "not housebroken weak-looking mute girl" must have done SOMETHING to end up here ;) )
I hope I get some good rolls early to set you up for an impressed reaction -

Ekkehardt |

I'm looking forward to most everything in this game, most particularly the Characters and the interplay! Having a group of wicked villains forge themselves into a group will be an intriguing challenge.
I'm a Charter Subscriber, so I own all the Paths and I'm slowly adding to my horde of modules.
This is one of the few games out there that I'm not familiar with, so everything is a new and refreshing.
Playing Ekk tactically and within his Intelligence will be very hard.
When I receive more skill points I will be placing at least one in History to reflect his growing tactical knowledge.
For now, I can not WAIT to play a warrior. Most of my online games I play support characters and I'm the primary GM for my table top game.
I get to slaughter thing that aren't PC's! WooT!

Just as a suggestion(since I can't make it in-game properly, but maybe one of you can): What if one or two of you started making noise, shouting demands from the guards(get freezerman or bladdergirl out here) or seemingly fighting with each other about something?
They don't seem keen on coming in here, so the noise may buy Ardra a few rounds where she doesn't need to worry about sounds she makes, before they come in and try to force you to shut up(at which time you easily can).
If Ardra manages to unchain herself and pretends she's still chained, we'd be a lot better off already than we are now.

Ekkehardt |

Posting will be light until tomorrow evening, I have a mandatory snuggle time with the wife this evening, a morning meeting and a doctors appointment in the afternoon.
But I will be checking in as time allows!
No spoilers on the movie!
If Ekk need to make any roles to assist, here are some to use.

Boreas Summers |

Hia.
So I lost my tablet on wednsday, and my computer crashed out on thursday morning :/ Bam! no internet at all...
Good news, got my computer running again, better news, I get a new one monday (and its supposed to be super fast!), sad news, gotta figure out how much a new tablet will put me back :(
As for my theme song, I dont think it can be anything other then Let it go, just a bit darker, less hopeful, and a bit deeper voice...
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried!
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know!
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway!
Well, at least until I find something else :)
Edit: @Robin. You dont have to worry too much about it :) I also have Cold Lord, the cold should be mostly confined to an area just further then us.
At this point I want the visuals, not the effects :)

Ardra Pain de Veau |

I'm imagining let it go played in a minor key with a underlayed bass chord progression.
Ardra's theme song is almost certainly composed by Phillip Glass.

Your Benevolent Dictator |

@Boreas: As long as you're just doing the flavorful "keep it chilly" thing, you can Take10 on your concentration checks. Once shit starts going down, though, you'll have to start rolling if you haven't been freed.
Re: Let It Go - I'll be using THIS VERSION during a dragon fight in my RoW campaign at some point. :-)

Robin Weaver |

Ardra, might I inquire how you even intend to reach Ekk and Boreas before doing the Leg chain? They are on the far left and right, after all, with you in a middle spot...just saying. I doubt you have such freedom of movement before taking care of it.
Boreas, what I'm mostly worried about is that at the temperature you're keeping it at, you will shortly cause us to save or take 1d6 nonlethal damage that won't get a chance to heal before we get to warm up.
Some of us can "soak" the nonlethal cold, but others will not be as lucky, and a bad roll there may be painful down the road.

Ardra Pain de Veau |

THAT is a very good question. I wasn't looking at the map at the time and thought they were next to each other at one end or another, rather than at opposite ends; which is neither here nor there since they're both out of reach, as you say.
If either you, Robin, or Saranda can interject with a plan to take out both guards at once that that one would be the actual target of the successful DD.

Robin Weaver |

Hehe, I can't speak up ;)
Technically, I do have a very realistic chance of seriously F'ing those guards up. Especially with hands free - but not a real chance to communicate.
Besides, while "Friendless" Curse mostly should affect NPC's, it's to be expected you would not go after me first-...and I can still try to help with a successful concentration check.
I think your notion of helping Ekk is a good one, but even so, Ekk would be fixed in place due to the leg chain and could not do much good. I'd say take the Leg chain out with the successful DD, then move over to Ekk next?
If you intend to stay in place to "pretend" as long as possible, you could simple roll a die between me and Saranda, choosing randomly.

Ardra Pain de Veau |

That's just it, if I understand, we're each manacled to the wall behind us andvthe leg chain runs through our leg shackles but is only locked at one end. I don't think i can undo the chain any more than I can reach Ekkehardt until most of us are freed from the wall

Robin Weaver |

Ah, even better. I thought we had leg holds, but those were simply chained together with a single lenght of chain that we could pass back and forth to get the lock to someone who can unlock it.
Technical question(since I don't know how you handle those things): If they believe I'm still chained, would I get a surprise round against them if I attack?

Robin Weaver |

Aye, then afraid I'll take my chances with the guards. After making me pee myself, Robin is more than slightly pissed. And quite confident in her own abilities.
One question: Would I be allowed to exchange Destruction/Range for Destruction/Gather Energy(from the SoP Destruction Handbook). When I originally made the char, that was not out yet. No biggie if not, I can pick it up some later level but would be sweet to have.

Robin Weaver |

I feel you, Saranda.
Tactically, I wanted to wait, take as much time as we can to try and unlock more of us first.
Then I realised that's my own tactical decision, and not necessarily what the character would do. With the low Wisdom and the fact she does not actually HEAR why they are coming or what they are saying, she'd probably expect they are entering because they know what's up and barbecue them the moment the door opens.
It is a nice change to have to consider character knowledge with a deaf character, but maybe pairing it with low Wisdom was a Gung-Ho way of handling things :) Then again, if it DOES work out, it's a very nice introduction since I couldn't say hello to you guys verbally.
edit: ninja'd by GM, reasoning already included...so...yes...though if my plan fails, I'd appreciate if the others are not...thoroughly affected/punished for trying to stay true to my own chars personality.

Robin Weaver |

Honestly, I hope if I fail to kill them, they knock me out and take me to solitary or something like that.
Maybe they kill me on the spot. Either way, I hope you guys are fine.
Well, technically, I hope they burn, failing either or both saves and or losing init.

I won't begrudge you playing your character as you see fit, I just want to make sure the player saw when Ardra made a point of mouthing at Robin to not take any action here

Ekkehardt |

This will be interesting, as I've posted an attack.
Ekkehardt would view this as a good chance to destroy the guards, from his current point of view.
This attack also raises his estimation of the "none water holder" from liability to potentially useful. :)
As it currently stands, he has no real information on anyone else but words.
Ekkehardt is strongly defined by his actions, I'm afraid this will be some of the more interesting ones...and painful.

Ekkehardt |

Primary Target is the Guard with the horn.
If I can eliminate him, what's left is easily dispatched.
If I can get him, I will try.
If not, I try not to laugh as they beat my cellmate.
:)
I hope that was understood as in character, we are EVIL after all...not as the player.

Ardra Pain de Veau |

gee, any chance there's enough time during the surprise round to retrieve the alchemical equipment then mix and lob a bomb?
