Mruf warned us he wouldn't be able to play today, so I'll bot him here.
Mruf gets out his tools and analyzes the bridge once everyone has crossed.
Disable Device DC 20: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
With a deft and competent twist of his tools, Mruf deactivates the trap.
"Violá. You could jump up-and-down on this all day now without a problem."
Beromar Copperkettle
Whata you say Bruin? These fellows seems like theyse yousful ey?
Beromar exclaims as he strides over the bridge like he owned the place.
Serolt
Serolt and Regin also cross the bridge. "I think we should stay together until we know what's down here. Could be more traps and the like, we should keep a sharp eye out."
Bow in hand, he continues to move with the others.
Mruf
Thanks, WR!
Mruf clicked on the alchemical light at the end of his firearm, proceeding with caution after the others.
Should we check that door off to the side of us (east) before moving on?
Bruin Greenleaf
Whata you say Bruin? These fellows seems like theyse yousful ey?
"They certainly have their moments."
I'll be moving us toward Area C tonight unless someone wants to do something else. We'll also need to work out a basic party order. Right now I'm thinking of Bruin taking up the rear.
wicked_raygun
Beromar leads the group since he has darkvision. First they head to the path before the bridge. They find a winding tunnel, and then another door. They listen at the door, but hear nothing. Beromar shrugs and then kicks down the rotting wood of the door.
The room is decorated with grisly trophies from humanoid victims--pickled heads, grotesque bone carvings, a net of twine and rotting ears. And all around are still more carvings of the Sandpoint Devil.
And in the room, Beromar sees six goblinoid creatures that he identifies as Bugbears--something he's dealt with before. He grits his teeth and calls out to the others, "Hit 'em hard!"

Beromar slices a bugbear in half with his axe. Quickly after, Bruin begins his bardic performance. Serolt fires a couple arrows and puts down another.
And finally Regin bites down on a bugbear and brings him to the ground. He's marked with a blue and black symbol.

The bugbear stands and avoids a retaliatory bite from the firepelt. It then makes its own attack with a morningstar that also misses. And then a second Bugbear moves to attack Regin as well, but it behead by Beromar.
Bero--I don't see Combat Reflexes on your character sheet. I believe that's a prerequisite for Bodyguard.
Then the last two Bugbears shriek in anger and move to attack Beromar with their falchions.

Yeah, I figured it was probably something like that. You're very straight-forward about that type of thing. I was just a little surprised when I realized that I couldn't give you an additional AOO. And I did give you the initial AOO. It killed a bugbear that's no longer on the board.
wicked_raygun
Amaya steps in after but cannot land a solid hit.
Amaya, the position you moved to would have provoked an AOO--which I don't believe was your intention. I slid you to the right by a square to avoid that. You also wouldn't be able to charge--You would have missed even with the bonus, sadly. Your AC was also not reduced.
Mruf then lands a loud, heavy shot on the Bugbear which startles Bruin enough that he almost stops chanting.

Bruin Greenleaf
Bruins stumbles for a moment from his wounds.
"Those things did not go down easy. Is everyone okay?"
Bruin feels around his shoulder and recoils when he sees his hand covered in blood.
"Okay, that's a stupid question. Gather around everyone. I can channel divine energy for healing."
"I hope," he muttered quietly to himself.
Channel Energy: 6d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 3, 6, 3) = 19
Bruins channels for over half a minute, clearly struggling to find his goddess' favor. A year ago, he had felt powerful and in his Lady's good graces. But today it was struggle to find even the smallest font of divine power.
His connection was fading.
Used up all my channels for today and barely healed a dent. Time for the wand.
For Beromar...

Appraise: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
Spellcraft DC 18 Boots: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Bruin takes a look at the magical items. "Not sure what those cloaks are, but these are Boots of Striding and Springing. They increase your speed and make you jump batter."
Mruf
Appraise: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Mruf, who had been sorting through the bag of stones with a fascination Amaya could recognize (shiny!), muttered, "Why would they throw these great things away with their garbage?" He picked up the thieves' tools and, with a glance to make sure Beromar wasn't looking, slid them into his pocket.
Then he came over to poke at the boots. "Maybe you'd better wear these, Bruin. With those short legs, you might not be able to... uh... I mean, it might help us move faster."
I haven't checked what Longstrider does - if it improves his speed, Mruf'll suggest the dwarf wears the boots, instead.
I was going to make a joke about OOTS and the boots, but the ones in the comic are boots of speed. *sigh*
Serolt
Serolt casts Detect Magic and takes a look at the haul.
Cloaks: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 vs DC 20
"Nice. A pair of cloaks of protection. They are of the most minor sort, but good protection indeed." (+1)
He thinks a moment, "These seemed very tough for bugbears, and they're carrying magics. I've not encountered that before, but maybe my experience is simply limited." he grins.
For treasure tracking (link), I assume we're not carrying the non-magic, non-valuable stuff like the falchions, and armor - excepting the masterwork stuff. It's a lot of weight for little cash, and by this level we're not as worried about the occasional gold here and there. Is that cool with everyone, or are we hauling every scrap of copper we find?
"I'd be happy to wear one of the cloaks if that's agreeable." (Is it 'resistance', i.e. +1 to saves? or the old style protection +1 to AC?)
Bruin Greenleaf
They're cloaks of resistance. I wrote "protection" because, occasionally, I'm an idiot. Sorry. :-)
Bruin smiles back at Serolt and then proceeds to run circles around him at an impressive clip.
"Appreciate the offer, but I think I'll pass. Perhaps, Beromar can make better use of these?"
Bruin's speed is currently 40 feet.
"And I'm fine if you want to claim a cloak. But first--"
Bruin casts Prestidigitation on the cloaks to remove the Bugbear smell.
Serolt
No worries. I do that sort of thing all the time too.
Serolt looks at Bruin, "Now that is much appreciated." he laughs as he puts on the now clean cloak.
He ruffles Regin's fur, "Good boy." as the cat cleans the blood off his paws.
When he's restated his gear, he turns to the others. "Shall we try that bridge? I bet there are more bugbears across it."
"Oh! Maybe there's another way..." a thought occurs to him.
He checks the chamber for secret doors in case there's another way.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Beromar Copperkettle
This looks like some mighty fine boots for a dirty piece o goblin scum. But these weren't no normal goblin scums! Maybe this some kind of rotten goblin demon cult again. If that be the case then we at the right place!
Boots of striding and springing are very welcome indeed as Beromar's 20 foot movement speed might come to be an issue! Beromar would also take a cloack but his saves are pretty good already but as he will be the front line, him failing saves could be a big problem.
Mruf
Mruf already has a nice cloak, so he won't complain if Beromar takes it. I wouldn't mind the extra cash from the MW things, though I'm not suggesting we carry them around right now. WR, what was the result of his appraise check?
"I can't believe this lair is so close to town. Those townsfolk had better pull themselves together and make some patrols out here," Mruf commented, busy stacking the fine weapons in a corner for later retrieval. He threw some of the garbage over them to disguise them.
"We oughtta smoke 'em out," he opined, ignoring that a flood of bugbears like the ones they had just met would be lethal. "I wonder what the ones we killed were doing in here..."
Is there any sign of what the bugbears were doing? Do I need to roll something?
Amaya Kaijitsu
"More bugbears would not be preferable." Amaya says, stretching out her arms and legs after the fight. Bruin's magic had certainly helped, and she was glad for that. Typically she had to heal after a battle the old-fashioned way. She nods to Mruf. "Indeed, one should know what happens in one's backyard. Though you also see such blinders on people in the city."
She frowns. "My knowledge of the wilds is not close to yours - is it possible the Bugbears would be here serving something else? If there is indeed a Devil," She shoots a glance at Bruin, "it may still be here as well."
Shaking her head, she mutters to herself. "Bugbears, Drakes, and a devil. No wonder people in Sandpoint don't leave town. They're surrounded by monsters."
Bruin Greenleaf
"Most of Varisia is like this once you get away from the coasts. Just one big untamed wilderness full of unchecked horrors amidst Thassilonian ruins. The only truly settled places are Sandpoint, and the three major cities: Magnimar, Riddleport and Korvosa. And presumably the elves keep a good grip in the Mierani Forest. Of course, I've never been, so I couldn't say for sure."
"The citizens do a good job making everything appear normal and safe. But this entire region is always dancing on a knife, a single misstep away from disaster."
K. Nature: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
"Can't say I know too much about Bugbears. I've fought one before, but I didn't exactly get a chance to learn about his culture before things got violent. As far as serving the Sandpoint Devil goes--maybe? It certainly looks like something worships it here."

Beromar Copperkettle
Well don't forgets the Dwarven Clans in the mountains. Oldest civilization ina Varisia I tells ya!
Beromar flicks some blood of his hammer.
But them Bugbears... not much one needs to know bout em...stinkin Goblin Kin is all...
Bruin Greenleaf
"Oh, no offense meant, Bero. But the Mindspin Mountains are a bit of a ways from here," Bruin says with a grin.
"Well, I suppose we should move on."
Serolt
Serolt commands Regin to 'watch' as he slides his bow over his shoulder.
He then examines the pile of rocks to make sure it's not a trap of some kind before he starts to shift them...
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
hehehe, Finding no traps, he starts shifting rocks out of the way.
Bruin Greenleaf
Bruin also takes a moment to examine the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Like Serolt he concludes that it's probably fine. He stands back and lets the longshanks do all the work--er, stand guard. He meant stand guard.
