He's just a box.

"Sounds good to me." he says, glad that somebody has stepped forward to lead.

Chitwick rummages through his cap-sack and pulls out a Deerstalker hat along with a pipe and magnifying glass.
Dis might be a job for the Dick he says as he dusts off the hat. As he switches hats, his outfit seems to change from the dirty white t-shirt to a khaki jacket. He takes a few puffs from the pipe and begins climbing up towards the window.

Yes, the craft room is a start. Let us make our way quietly. We do not know what other monsters lurk out there.

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

The yarn remains solid - unlike the primals - as it is cut down. Once you are all satisfied with the job in the cabin, you make your way back out into the night.

The Lego Toy does not presume your intentions and returns to whatever it was he had been doing before Boxy saved him.

Outside you can see the arts and crafts cabin - still as silent as before. The large porch light that had been illuminating it earlier remains, though it feels much more ominous now that you suspect there are nightmares about.

Action Figure

Looking about the dark night that surrounds them. Shrugging off a palpable sense of agoraphobia Droid takes the first steps towards the arts and crafts cabin, searching the darkness for danger..

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Outside the Arts and Crafts cabin, a plush winged pegasus of lavender color manages some clumsy flight, wings flapping erratically as she tries to gallop in step in a completely hopeless loss of coordination.

"Come on..." She strains, reaching up to the open camp windows.

Klutzy lands on a window sill, and bellows out "Are there bad things in here!" She shakes her head from side to side, her crossed eyes certainly not helping her presence. "Tuffet said that...uhm...." She pauses for a moment in thought, raising a hoof to her mouth. "He said...that....'...you klutz...why don't you....something....here....get hurt....crowbar....'"

She shakes her mane, "Well, I am here to protect my Small that...I left behind!" Majestically, she rears up onto her back legs, striking a pose.

Klutzy slips off the window sill, bounces off the wall, and promptly lands on her head, sprawled, on the cabin floor. ".....oww..."

He's just a box.

"Quick, lets get in there." he says. "I can get both of you in there, just like last time."

He's just a box.

Boxy does't hear what gets said as he watches the newcomer ride up. he only hears this.

With a distracted dramatic flourish, he gets his favorite motorcycle inside as he watches the pretty pretty pony glide in the window. "So graceful" He then folds himself into himself to go inside.

In his dreamy state of mind, he doesn't look back. Which is probably for the best, because seeing Chitwick surrounded by hulking twig-monsters would probably distress him.

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Inside the cabin it's dark - black even. In fact, none of you can see anything. Literally! It's as if the whole world has been gobbled up by some terrible beast. You can't even make out simple structures or the layout of wherever you are, though you can tell you're standing on something solid.

You look around somewhat alarmed and notice that your companions are easily visible, outlined by a soft light against the inky dark. Whether this comforts you or alarms you further is another matter entirely.

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Klutz peers around into the darkness as she rights herself. Of course, with her crossed eyes it doesn't really help much. "Hellooooo?" She flits her wings as she looks around. "Is there anyone good in here?" Her courage falters at the quiet, "Or...is there something bad?"

Guts just to see how I react and to familiarize myself with the system.
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 6, 3) = 15
1d6 ⇒ 4
Three successes

She raises her head defiantly as she takes clumsy flight, "Well if you ARE bad, you'd better watch out!"

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

If anypony...er anybody is hurt, let me know :D

Action Figure

"Great. I knew I should've packed something glow in the dark. Anybody bring a flashlight, or light up or a big's burning smoker stick things?"

Droid, reckless as he is, will take a potshot or two at the ceiling to see if his blazer rifle does anything to the darkness.

He's just a box.

As people talk, he's going to try and move towards the sound of their voices.

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Anyone have a point in lie?

Klutzy starts singing to herself as she flutters, looking around for the lights, no doubt bumping into a lot as she does so. "~~Day...switch. I need to f--bonk oops....day switch...I really really need to find th---bonk owww..."

Drawn to Droid's gunfire, the pony will find her way with the other two. With a sheepish grin, she says "{b]HELLO THERE![/b]"

He's just a box.

Nope, I'm an open box.

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

You manage to find each other in the darkness. As you do so you run into unseen objects that you have to navigate around. It gives you a bit of insight into the layout of the room. Boxy feels like he has to maneuver around a series of table or chair legs while Klutzy Klops crawls through some sort of sticky substance.

Droid your rifle illuminates the immediate area around it, but only for the few milliseconds that the beam exists. Its not really enough for you to get any information about the inside of the Cabin.

He's just a box.

Boxy starts feeling around for anything they can use to light the way. "Um, hi there. I'm Um... Boxy." he whispers. As he's trying to find a light, he brushes against her silky plastic mane. "oops"

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Klutzy looks a bit alarmed/eager to speak up to the two, wiping her hooves off as she talks. "Did Tuffet tell you to come here too? He was trying to organize some ponies...I mean toys to help look into things. Uhm...OH! I'm Klutzy Klops and I'm here to help!"

The pegasus raises onto her back hooves again, "I can fly!...sorta. and...I think we need to find some light." Her tail swishes instinctively, batting at Boxy without her even really noticing.

He's just a box.

"P-pleased to meet you, Miss Klops." he says, a little nervously. "There's usually a switch by the door, but it's too high for the rest of us."

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Klutzy examines the door, mostly by feeling for it since it is so dark, then gives a judging "Hmmmmmm" The eye that's more than a bit off, facing the rest of the crew.

She awkwardly starts to fly upward in this erratic motion as she moves to investigate finding the light switch!

Action Figure

"This isn't getting us anywhere. Oh hi Flipsy Flops. Er, Klipity klop. Boxy, you check the right side of the door for a switch and I'll check the left. Could you fly around and look for a pull cord Klutsy Klops."

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

She was already doing that, but without missing a beat, she nods vigorously " Okay! It never hurts to help!"

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Klutzy manages to find a light switch and flicks it on, much to everyone's relief.

For a moment that is.

As the light illuminates the cabin you hear a sharp, high pitched squealing. Turning towards the source of the noise you see an absolutely MASSIVE (at least by comparison to you all, it is roughly the size of your average Small) creature clinging to the roof of the cabin. It is absolutely horrible, with at least two dozen beady black eyes and 15 spindly legs that hold its gorged frame in place.

While you fear the consequences of your actions the creature reaches out one of its disgusting limbs and crushes the lightbulb illuminating the room, plunging you all back into darkness.

A deathly silence follows.

Spot checks to see if you managed to pick up any details of the cabins layout during the momentary light.

He's just a box.

Fate (subbing for spot): 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 6) = 12
rollover: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Total three successes. It sucks not having eyes, but sometimes luck makes up for it. But now I'm out of fate.

Action Figure

"Sp. sp. sp. Spider!"

perception: 5d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 1, 4) + (4) = 24(5 successes)

"oh, poop."

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

As I am crosseyed, I really doubt I'll get anything here, but what the hey.

Spot! 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
Bonus 1d6 ⇒ 4
3 successes, can I spot a table lamp with that?

Klutzy looks at the other toys in surprise and alarm. "Where?" Turning her head just slightly, her one off-kilter eye looks right up at the big ole primal.

"W...what do we do now?" She descends back down towards the other toys, anxiously shifting her feet.

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Boxy and Kluty are both transfixed on the horror above them to take in anything about room before they are plunged back into darkness

Droid, on the other hand, is an action figure. He's HARDCORE - no giant abomination is going to change that. He sees that most of the desks in the cabin have been knocked around and supplies are scattered across the floor. There was a lamp, by the looks of it, but it has been knocked over. You can't tell from where you are standing whether it was working or not. There weren't any other primals you could see, thankfully, so you have that going for you.

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

"Now that the light's out, its gone...right?" Klutzy looks around with her wee bit of nightvision all toys have, at the other two.

Action Figure

"Follow me guys!" as Droid rushes headlong into the darkness straight towards the overturned lamp.

Scramble: 5d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 3, 5) + (3, 2, 1) = 26 (6!)

He's just a box.

Following the robot, Boxy will try to keep up!

Scramble: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 2) = 12 [ooc]2 successes]

...but not very well.

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Without really knowing why, Klutzy staggers along in her trademark gait to follow Droid.

Scramble4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 5) = 17 Bonus 1d6 ⇒ 2

Three Successes

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Droid, you manage to make it to the area with the lamp with out too much issue. From what you can tell, bumbling around in the dark, the bulb is intact though there isn't a cord. Perhaps it's battery powered? At a glance you think you, or one of the other toys, may be able to carry it (though not without difficulty).

Boxy and Klutzy, on the other hand, find less success. Klutzy runs through the same puddle of goopy stuff she had before, learning that it is actually a bottle of glue spilled out on the floor. It immediately gums up her synthetic fur, causing dirt and splinters to stick unpleasantly. Reduce your speed by half unless you stop to take time and clean yourself off.

Boxy has it even worse on account of her wide bottom. She runs (slides?) straight into the glue puddle, coating herself in the goopy substance. It rapidly dries in places, partly cementing her in place. You speed is reduced to 1/4th the normal until you stop to take time and clean yourself off.

None of you have any idea what the monster may be doing right now. You can't hear it at all, certainly can't see it. An optimist would be comforted by this...maybe.

He's just a box.

Hey, boxy is a guy! And it's walking, he has lots of short little pipe cleaner legs.

"Ack! I'm gluey" He will work to clean himself off.

I'm not sure what roll would be appropriate, if any

Action Figure

"All right, it's not broken. Hey what happened to you guys?"

Droid will then fiddle about with the lamp/lantern looking for the switch.

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Will this affect Scramble or just standard movement.

"Oops!" Klutzy laments, "I think I stepped..into a lot of something. Its sticky. Bleaahh I gow ih en mah moufff"

How she got glue from her hooves into her mouth is a mystery the dark refuses to answer. She ignores it for the moment as she tries to get to Droid. "Uhff you tuhn the liffe back on ua monsffs will om ack."

Translated from Derpy-ese, If you turn the light back on, the monsters'll come back

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Sorry Boxy, it's so dark in here it's hard to tell!

Boxy starts cleaning HIMself off while klutzy does her best to continue on.

But what of Droid? He's found a switch that could turn the lamp on, but will he listen to Klutzy instead?

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

It is generally a poor thing to listen to Klutzy

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Droid finds and flips the switch on the lamp. Instantly the light pours out of the shade and reveals the horrible visage of the primal you saw before inches away from Klutzy, one of its deformed limbs reaching out menacingly towards the Toy.

"SCREEEEEEEEEE!" it cries, almost deafening all of you. It holds up two more of its limbs to cover its eyes from the light while rapidly trying to back away from the lamp.

It takes a swipe at Droid and his offending light but misses, the blow instead shattering the leg of a nearby desk, causing it to crash loudly to the ground.

Initiative: 8d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 2, 2, 3, 1, 5) = 23 4 successes

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

"Meeerrrppp!" The Pint-size Pony panicks a bit, still covered in glue as she trots around, as chaos explodes around her.

Scramble/Initiative 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 4) = 13 2 Successes

He's just a box.

Initiative: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 1, 3, 6) = 18
bump: 1d6 ⇒ 3 = 3 successes
Did I get any glue off of me?

Action Figure

initiative: 5d6 + 5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 2, 1) + (4, 6, 6, 2, 1) = 25
bonus: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
bonus: 1d6 ⇒ 3
6 initiative

"Lookout!"

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Boxy, you got some of the glue off. Your speed is now only 1/2 normal. Another turn will get the rest off.

Power arks within the lamp and the light sputters and dies, plunging the Toys back into darkness.

You're up Droid

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

hmmm, so what's my penalty then since I didn't do as such? 1/4? Does this mean my Scramble is penalized or just movement?

He's just a box.

Boxy sees that Klutzy is all gluey. "Let me help you!" he whispers. He'll get himself sticky if it helps her to run free. Free like wind. Free like the dreamweaver train...

And then he shakes himself out of it and gets down to work.

cleaning an then moving away
assist: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 5) = 18
jackpot: 1d6 ⇒ 3 4 successes

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

No, your penalty to movement is still at 1/2 (though it looks like Boxy is helping you clean off). It affects all forms of movement, including scramble.

Action Figure

"Hey You! Come and get me!"
Droid will then fire where he last saw the spook and start moving away from Boxy and Klutzy
aim: 5d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 3, 2) + (4, 6, 6) = 30
bonus: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
7 minus whatever penalties or modifiers darkness gives me

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Klutzy is not paying much attention to the fact that she just about got got. She sticks her tongue out at Boxy, "Eh ohh maah tuung" As the six-sider assists her in cleaning up, she prances a bit. "Pony Magic!" She proclaims, rearing up onto two legs, "Boxy box, we believe in you, go protect them..er us, us from them!"

Minor:
Carouse to eliminate status debuff 7d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 5, 3, 1, 3) = 25
4 Successes to remove the entirety of glue of of myself, and if I can, Boxy too

At first the magic sparkles radiating from her are a bit off center, but it is easily fixed by sheer proximity to Boxy.
Major
Exaggerate 5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 1, 2) = 17
bonus dice 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
bonus die 1d6 ⇒ 5

And legends say that Boxy's next attack grew five dice that day.

Female Pint-Size Pony Stuffed Animal

Forgot I get an extra auto success on Carouse, so that's up to 5 successes

He's just a box.

At that point, one of the great questions of the universe was almost answered. As he heard her words, feeling surged through him. Feeling he didn't understand, but they were wonderful feelings. "Gah-bah-duh-um." he mumbles at fist, but the surge soon reaches whatever part of him passes for a mouth, and he says boldly, "For the Children! And the Ponies!

Sadly for those dying to know, in the dark one cannot see if cardboard blushes.

But of course, it's not my action.

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

Klutzy frees herself and her companion from the last of the glue while Droid abandons the lamp in favor of a more direct approach. -2 successes when attacking something that you can't see. The shots hit something in the dark, and a sharp hissing sound is heard.

GM Dice: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 1) = 8

Unseen, the Primal retaliates, smashing into Droid with a hefty blow from above.

Brawl: 8d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 4, 2, 2, 1, 4) = 25
1d6 ⇒ 3
5 successes

He's just a box.

With the boost from the lovely filly, he leaps forward to bash the creature in, darkness be darned!

brawl: 12d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 6, 5, 2, 2, 3, 5, 1, 2, 4) = 42
bonus: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9

8 successes after the penalty
