Poppo!: 1d8 ⇒ 2

![]() |

come on benj. you are unemployed. you should be able to post all the time. :)
I am so glad you got out of target btw. good luck with the new job

Benjen Harris |

Thanks Jon! I'll try to post more I was waiting to see if you guys had anymore questions.

![]() |

Hey Craig - here's a link for the upcoming special
Matt are you interested?
Ben or Jon?
It's the 4th part of a PFS special, I'm running a subtier 7-8 table at the online convention Outpost II. It's runs from March 11 - May 6, 2019.
I have 2 spots left at my table.

Benjen Harris |

I have created a player resource for you guys in case you need to look back at what has happened so far. It also has guides of the regions of Enderal and notable npc's. It is linked at the top under Maps/Handouts for quick access.

Still trying to decide between Magus level and Rogue level...?

![]() |

so alexa rolled me an 8 at home when i tried this. lets see....
1d8 ⇒ 1
unreal. just completely unreal.
any suggestions for feats or spells to take. i can get animate undead lesser or desecrate or cure moderate wounds or another damage spell. the way we are going, leaning towards cmw and redoing level 1 spells for more clw.
I was also thinking about taking the throw anything feat, so I could use hand of the acolyte without the -4 penalty.

Benjen Harris |

Hopefully I dont role an eight or we have to re roll
Poppo HP: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Three max HP's this time

Love the 8hp! Ok, thoughts on a warpriest. taking a 3rd level. thinking power attack and for my second feat wondered quicken spell like ability. in hero lab that only gives me an option to pick cloned spell. don't know what that means. As I see it the big down side to a warpriest is the blessings you can do are standard actions so you can either buff someone or attack. Would this feat solve that issue or is it meant to do something else?
Also wondered weapon of the chosen but that is temporary counts as magical for DR or striking incorporeal creature. Gives a second chance on a miss because of concealment. Think on this one it would be a temporary help as I would hope to find a magical sword in time so might only help for a few levels.
Last thought might be cleave

![]() |

can you use quicken spell at level 3? it says it take a 4+ level slot? or do you mean quicken blessing? cant go wrong with cleave.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Matt I think Jon's right -- Quicken Blessing is what you would want; as Quicken Spell-Like Ability is for monsters and you have to have SLAs at caster level 10 anyway.
I like the Quicken Blessing it actually allows a blessing to be useful. Cleave always seems underwhelming to me especially at higher levels, but your mileage may every.

![]() |

So that is not available, have to have access to the major blessing to use it and then it would use two of my uses rather than one. So major blessing not til level 10 for me. Sortof makes warpriest less useful, have to preplan my help to people. Other ideas? Or maybe I just take a level in fighter or something. Thoughts?

![]() |

barbarian vs fighter? I'm partial to barbarians.
how bout craft wondrous item?

Benjen Harris |

I must remain relatively impartial as the gm but a level of fighter or barbarian would probably be helpful for Bobie, maybe get a few extra feats and more proficient in melee which Bobie seems to be very fond of.

Benjen Harris |

Perhaps you could take a level in warpriest if you want to continue gaining divine type things and combaty things.

![]() |

i know. i was thinking one of the ranger types. stay back and shoot and stay out of melee. Of course i have played barbarians so much i tend to want to run in and swing. was wanting to stay with the necr build though. ill run through a couple builds tonight. and see what works. i am open to suggestions. I think maxing heals and buffs would be useful, particularly as my hit rolls are so bad

![]() |

Well, couldn't find anything else cool to do. Decided on fighter with adding power attack and cleave.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

I would go for Vital Strike over Cleave.

Turngut |

Oops! I totally missed this conversation all week. I've been checking the gameplay tab multiple times per day and never thought to look in the discussion! doh!!

![]() |

Vital Strike needs BAB of +6. Can't do it, open to other suggestions though. debated rapid reload or point blank but I don't bow enough and my god is a sword god so thought i more often sword it. Not really sure quick draw would be much help. Blind fight?

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Oh forgot the BAB requirement, yeah just go with Cleave

loving the campaign, the time difference makes it interesting. I check first thing in am and everyone has posted. around my lunch there is another round and then around 6-7 (11-midnight your time) I see another couple post. I am finding my self checking in in the evenings and wondering why no one has posted, then I realize you guys are probably asleep.
So I goofed a little in our local game sunday. skull and shackles book 2 , the part where the group starts raising infamy and loot attacking ships and islands. It is a group of 10 so I am having a hard time scaling things appropriately. It was way too easy so I upped it. They did a boat raid last time and had to pull their Halloween boon,(jack the pumpkin king owes them) to survive. they attacked an island this time. I used the pirate thug army builder template with a bunch of pets. Looked later and those were level 7 (i thought they were 5, the party is at level 3). I had like 10 of them plus they all had pets. first pc down was my wife's pseudodragon. It was mother's day so I couldn't kill her. Two others went down and were healed back up. I decided to throw in a vamp thrall and add that as part of the backstory. took out the 3 tanks with crossbows, and threw ghost sounds, the party failed their will saves, and convinced them they were surrounded and had them surrender. That led to a somewhat believable escape and we called it a night. I think I may ease up the encounters for a bit.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Yeah I'm usually up in the pbp when I wake up in the morning, since I'm likely first to bed and first to rise.
I imagine that it would be hard to scale with such a large group. Our Skulls & Shackles game fizzled out at the start of book 2. The battle must all be of epic proportions. If mobs are being fought you could just double or 2.5 times there size; but it's hard scaling solos.
Sounds like getting captured and having to escaped would add to the fun, so I'm sure it's great. How often are you getting to play now up there?

![]() |

winter we play weekly, summer is harder, maybe once a month. been watching the tabletop crafting videos and going to try to build a ship or 3 for the campaign. could be fun

![]() |

Hoping our skull and shackle is not permanently fizzled as I like it. Maybe just an extended delay!

![]() |

finding the 3rd book is near impossible. I keep seeing it for $90. just picked it up an amazon for 36. kills me to pay that for the book. We started it in oct 2017 and are just in the beginning of book 2. painful

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Is the dice roller broken: No
I compiled every D20 roll by GM or player in this game. So the GM rolls still include Initiative and Jesper, etc.
It looks random to me.
That said Nalia has had the best luck; Turngut is about 50/50; Poppo and Bobie have had bad luck, and poor Ib, no wonder Grayson quite.

Turngut |

Wow! that's a neat trick! And yet again - randomness is random!!
Am I reading that right that I've rolled 10 nat 20s? That's 8%. I'm beating the odds!! :)
Thanks David!

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Yep Turngut is the natty 20 master!

Benjen Harris |

So gonna be in Chicago this weekend will try to keep posting to get through this combat but obviously can't move anything

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Thanks Craig...enjoy your day as well.
Ben - dont worry about killing us I enjoy the challenge! And am having a blast!

![]() |

very grateful you all survived the storm. finding new party members would suck. Seriously, pics look horrific everyone doing ok?
