Botting Raktar
Knowledge Planes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Raktar don't know either.
He brings his Chainsaw to life with a roar and swings it at the unknown creature.
Chainsaw: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3, 6) + 7 = 19
It bites deeply into the thing.
Figgy hits it with a bomb and it writhes in pain as it burns.
Korvan misses with both swings.
Olimpia darts in again and stabs deep.
Geeting badly wounded wasn't in this creatures plans, it tries to dart away by going up. AOO from Raktar & Korvan.
Chainsaw: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5, 6) + 7 = 19
Korvan to have his AOO.
Korvan Vosh
AoO: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18

Extra Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (2, 2) + 13 = 17

Korvan finally finds his eye and ends the things existence.
With the time to think carefully you can now take the time to make a better Knowledge Planes check and read the hidden information.
Everything in the room has been smashed, but among the bones of the dead Dwarf you find three gems. As there is nothing else on the Dwarf they must have eaten the gems to hide them.
These three gems lie amid the bones:
A garnet worth 500 gp.
A sapphire worth 4,500 gp.
A pale blue rhomboid ioun stone. (+2 Str)
What are you doing now?
Dilana Hemlock
Dilana shakes her head as the creature dissipates sure that she will know what it was. Taking 10 for a 27 "Some sort of air elemental. If we see anything like it again cold will do the most I think. Sorry i did not come up with that information earlier but no harm done really."
Figgy Greasefitter
"This place is rather interesting, I could come back here and study for years.... we just have to kill the ghost wizard guy and then I can." Figgy says "One more room?"
Olimpia Beta II
Yea, too bad we cannot just talk to that wizard ghost. It seems totally insane.
Once the group identifies the ioun stone Olimpia suggests You might want to use this Korvan. I think it would benefit you the most.
Korvan Vosh
"Thanks. If this little thing does what you folks say it does, yeah I think I can put it to use.
Raktar Garnok
Apologies for my absence team. Wedding anniversary, wife's birthday, and Mother's Day over the weekend left not a lot of time for posting.
With the terrifying mist creature dead by Korvan's hand Raktar breathes easily. "What horrors will the last lab hold for us?" he wonders out loud.
Raktar Garnok
Yeah, tell me about it! I was granted a brief reprieve to play baseball on Saturday though, so that was a nice escape.
GM_DBH
Again the doors are not locked or trapped, but they are airtight and very thick.
F17. Lab 3: Gaseous Ooze Research
The tables and shelves in this large laboratory are all coated with a thin greenish slime. One desk is heaped with pages of notes, and a human skeleton dressed in moldy robes lies slumped over it. A large glass tank atop the easternmost table is shattered and shards of glass litter the floor of the room, while a pale green haze floats in the air.
As the door opens to reveal the room the green haze pulls its self together into a large green cloud.
Horrid shapes form within this cloying green mist, which pulses sporadically and with seeming voracity.

Bewitching Brume (Su)
Any creature within 10 feet of a hungry fog or currently being affected by its enveloping mists must succeed on a DC 8 Will save at the start of that creature’s turn or become shaken for 1 round at the half-glimpsed shapes of phantoms floating within the fog. This is a mind-affecting fear effect. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Enveloping Mists (Ex)
A hungry fog can engulf foes. A creature engulfed by a hungry fog does not gain the pinned condition and may move normally—such a creature is not in danger of suffocating, but as long as it begins its turn engulfed, it is staggered in addition to the damage the attack causes. The save DC to avoid the enveloping mists is Constitution-based.
Gaseous (Ex)
A hungry fog has a body composed of eerie mist. It can pass through small holes or narrow openings, even mere cracks, but cannot enter water or other liquid. It has no Strength score, and cannot manipulate objects as a result.
Vulnerable to Wind (Ex)
A hungry fog is treated as a Tiny creature for the purposes of determining the effects high wind has upon it.
As well as the cloud a dark, shadowy creature rises from the dead body and darts into the cloud.
This malignant cloud of shadows boils in the air, its skeletal maw eerily babbling as the creature’s claws manifest from the darkness.

Babble (Su)
An allip constantly mutters to itself, creating a hypnotic effect. All sane creatures within 60 feet of the allip must succeed at a DC 15 Will save or be fascinated for 2d4 rounds. While a target is fascinated, the allip can approach it without breaking the effect, but an attack by the allip does end the effect. Creatures that successfully save cannot be affected by the same allip’s babble for 24 hours. This is a sonic, mind-affecting compulsion effect. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Madness (Su)
Anyone targeting an allip with a thought detection, mind control, or telepathic effect makes direct contact with its tortured mind and takes 1d4 points of Wisdom damage.
Touch of Insanity (Su)
The touch of an allip deals 1d4 points of Wisdom damage (DC 15 Will negates). A successful critical hit causes 1d4 points of Wisdom damage and 1 point of Wisdom drain (instead of double Wisdom damage). With each successful attack, an allip gains 5 temporary hit points. The save DC is Charisma-based.
What are you doing now?
Raktar Garnok
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Raktar almost recoils from the horrifying sight of a malevolent cloud that fills the last laboratory. He sees a small shadowy being rise into the cloud from a corpse on the floor. "That shadow is an allip," he calls out. "They're insane, and it'll try to spread it's insanity via it's touch or contact with it's mind."
Feeling that the level of danger beyond is significant, Raktar reaches deep into himself and calls upon his magic, a burst of silver light bathing him and his friends with the blessings of Brigh - her ingenuity and adaptability.

Being at the back of things and unable to see due to the tight quarters Dilana waits to see what is going on.

Before Raktar can even raise his chainsaw the nightmarish fog dissipates as his friends hammer it into oblivion. The allip still fights on, but there is no space for Raktar to engage it. "Korvan, make a hole!" he calls out, waiting for his opportunity to strike.
I'll Delay until I can get into the room and attack the allip. I'll roll my attack now for expediency, taking the +2 to hit and +2 AC from blessing of fervor.

GM, its at your discretion if she can work out a way to see the thing.

I feel your pain, I don't know what to do with Figgy at times, it is ok though as he can be a look out and buffer.
GM_DBH
Taking a step to the side to let aid arrive Korvan finds it unneeded as he easily slashes the babbling thing into nothing.
And I thought this would be a tough fight for you. :(
This lab was used by one of Furkas's more accomplished apprentices, a woman named Anada Visk. She was charged with the investigation of how certain gaseous creatures exhibit similarities to ooze creatures, combining features of vaporous and protoplasmic life. The green slime coating this chamber's walls, floor, and furnishings looks foul but is harmless-a nasty side effect of the creature that's dwelled within this room for so many years.
The body slumped against the desk is Anada's, and an examination of the notes on the table reveals the cause of her fate.
Her notes describe her research into a roiling mist imprisoned within a glass cage. The reports begin very clinically-enumerating the density, resilience, and indeterminate composition of the mist she has been tasked to study-but devolve quickly into senseless ravings about corpse-white faces speaking from within the mist.
She grew more and more obsessed and secretive, and the last entry reads, "Xoud has stopped checking up on me-it has been days since he stopped by. I think he might be planning to steal my research. I'm out of food, but I dare not exit the lab. I will shatter the tank and join with the hungry fog, and we shall then be as one!"
Treasure:

What are you doing now?
Raktar Garnok
Raktar comes to a stop next to the collapsed form of the dead allip, his chainsaw poised to strike but ultimately unneeded. "This woman clearly lost her mind," he says as he quickly skims through her papers. "Xoud seems not to be the only one who'd gone mad in this tower."
Have we got anyone that can cast [cold] spells and wants to wear the robe? Dilana maybe?
We should keep going upstairs. Have we been through the door to F14 yet?
Dilana Hemlock
"Very nice robe but not as useful as what I am already wearing. Should sell for good coin at least."
She flips though the spell book for a moment. "This will be more useful once there is some time to read it."
Olimpia Beta II
I think I asked about this before but do not recall your response. Don't witches have to burn scrolls to learn spells? I do not think a regular witch can learn spells from spellbooks.
Someone should wear the robes for now. The cold resistance is good.
Olimpia knows and can cast Chill Touch but does not normally memorize it.

"Poor lady, an apprentice just left to her madness by her mentor, Brigh never does anything like that does she Raktar?" Figgy asks his fellow in the Lady of Gear's fatih.

Having cleared this floor you advance stealthily up the stairs and reach the next level.
F18. Fourth-Floor Atrium
A wide balcony overlooks a spacious atrium here, its low iron
railing wrought with geometric symbols. A window high on the west wall is protected by narrow metal slats. Three doors stand in the east wall, but only the central door remains intact, with a short message written above it. The northern door has a hole burrowed through it, while the southern one has been completely smashed apart.
The stairs to the west lead down to area F13, while those to the south lead up to area F22. The door to area F19 bears a 3-foot-wide hole, as does the door at the top of the stairs leading up to area F22. The door to area F20 is labeled "Lab 4: Animal Research" and the door to F21 is broken apart-no sign of its label remains.
What are you doing now?
Level 4 map up top.
Raktar Garnok
"Looks like something has burrowed out of there," Raktar says, pointing at the holed door, "and then up the stairs. Another of Xoud's nightmarish monstrosities, no doubt."
He looks around at the others before saying "My magic is starting to wane, I don't think we should push too much further today."
Translation: my minute/level spells have almost certainly all ended, and I've not got a lot of spell slots left. I can probably manage the rest of this floor but I don't think I'd want to go up any higher without a full set of spells available.
Dilana Hemlock
Corset of Dire Witchcraft: +4 AC and enhances a hex
"Do you think is is safe to leave and come back Raktar? At the very least that ghost knows we are he and it will give time to prepare."
Figgy Greasefitter
"I am running low on infusions as well, I have handed out most or used them up. It would be nice to clear this forsaken tower today but we don't need someone to get hurt seriously by pushing to hard." Figgy agrees with Raktar.
General Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Raktar Garnok
"I suppose there is a chance we get cornered on the way out," Raktar admits, "but he's had plenty of time to attack while we've been distracted with his various creatures and he hasn't bothered. I just feel like we'll be walking into trouble if we push on too far."
Raktar Garnok
Happy to make a start up here, but we may have to retreat at some point. Shall we start with F21?
Dilana Hemlock
Stuck halfway up the stairs Dilana calls up.
"Were already here, be a shame to walk up for nothing. Lets check this level and go down. I can come towards the front, I have not used many spells being in the back."
She slips up to be second in line assuming that the group will do this level.
How many levels would we guess this place is from the view outside?
Olimpia Beta II
That is a good question. Also, were there windows into the tower? Perhaps a roof entrance? Not sure we checked for that.
Figgy Greasefitter
Figgy flew around trying to get in on a different floor but the windows were shut.
"That garden with the moth will be a good place to rest" Figgy says from the rear with Dilana
GM_DBH
No way in through the windows and roof. You estimate you're halfway up the tower.
F21. Lab 5: Infernal Vapors Research
Both doors to this room are battered outward and hang askew on their hinges. The furnishings within-a pair of large metal cages and a desk-have been smashed to pieces and pushed together into a large nest.
This room held the two Achaierais that you killed on the floor below.
Treasure: The achaierais have formed a crude nest from mangled metal and splintered wood. The nest contains the remains of one of Xoud's assistants and his All tools vest.
What now?
Raktar Garnok
We'll definitely need a break soon if we're only halfway up.
"Looks like this is where the bird-demons lived," Raktar suggests, looking round at the destroyed room. "This looks useful," he says, digging out a leather vest from the pile of wreckage. "Anyone know what it is?"
Moving on to F20?
Olimpia Beta II
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
An All Tool Vest. Should be quite handy for Figgy.
Note the wording on the vest. Seems like this is all Figgy needs to craft anything tech and would work in place of any needed lab. Seems too good though. but, Magic!
Dilana Hemlock
Dilana doesn't let on that she is a little disappointed that they will be stopping for the day. Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 18 The fact that they found a spell book has her interested.
Dilana Hemlock
I think I asked about this before but do not recall your response. Don't witches have to burn scrolls to learn spells? I do not think a regular witch can learn spells from spellbooks.
Yes, you are correct. Much like the gun she just likes this stuff.
GM_DBH
Aura faint conjuration; CL 1st; Slot chest; Price 1,800 gp; Weight 5 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
This well-made leather vest bears numerous shiny metal buttons, which stud a number of bulging pockets.
Once per day, as a standard action, the wearer can speak the vest’s command word and order it to bring forth all the standard tools required to make checks for any one Craft skill. These tools appear in the countless pockets of the vest or, if too heavy, on the floor, on a nearby shelf, on a workbench, or in a toolbox or cupboard that appears nearby. Once summoned, they remain for 24 hours or until another creature touches them, whichever comes first.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Craft Wondrous Item, summon instrument; Cost 900 gp.
So where are you going now?
Raktar Garnok
F20 I think is the plan.
"Animal Research," Raktar says, reading the panel on the next door. "Sounds much less terrifying than the labs downstairs." He nonetheless raises his chainsaw, ready for something horrible on the other side of the door.
Olimpia Beta II
Anyone else imagining angry and mutated animals? Olimpia asks as she scouts ahead checking for traps.
Raktar Garnok
"At the very least," Raktar replies, seeing that he and Olimpia were clear on the same page when it came to how they imagined the denizens of the tower.
Korvan Vosh
Korvan chuckles at Olimpia's comment, "Hell, I'd almost be disappointed if weren't at this point."
