Rajni falls in with Toni and walks next to her as they head off to see Kjell about her supplies. Rajni is quite on the way to the shop, hoping that someone would be going with Toni and that she wouldn't be facing whatever it was she had to do on her own.
Not sure of what else to say since Toni had already decided on her course of action, and not wanting to make her feel any worse for leaving, Rajni forces every single one of her own feelings down. Right now Toni needed her support, so she would give it regardless of how she felt.
Taking a couple deep breaths to get her feelings under control, Rajni forces herself to look up and give Toni a supportive smile. Not liking the awkward silence as they head to the shop she asks, "So, what kind of stuff do you need for your trip?"
"A gun and a book," Toni answers. "When I talked to Dillon and Michael, they were concerned that I wasn't defend myself the way I could when I was the Szef...so, I'm trying to fix that before I leave."
Rajni sort of nods, "Oh, yeah..I guess that makes sense. Toni...just...you're not going alone are you?"
Toni sighs softly. "No, I don't think anyone will let me go by myself."
Letting out something that sounds like a sigh of relief, Rajni gives Toni's arm a light supportive squeeze. Looking at her best friend she says, "I know that what Hyggindi did was awful, and I don't blame you for anything you might be feeling, and while I can even understand why you might prefer to deal with it on your own...I have to say that I feel better knowing you won't be. I just...I understand why you're doing this, and I appreciate you wanting to protect all of us. You know that I'll always support you no matter what, but you're my best friend and I just want you to come back."
"I'm not making any promises, but I'll do my best," Toni says as they reach Kjell's shop. She opens the door for Rajni before following the fetchling inside.
Rajni nods as they go inside, "That's all I ask. You still owe me a camping trip." She says with a slight smirk.
Once she has both of them ready, Arista goes to her husband and gives him a kiss. Giving him a smile she asks, "Is there anything I can get for you while I'm out?"
"If you can pick up a whetstone from Halfpocket's, that would help a lot," Alethiro says. "All this woodcutting has been dulling the axe."
Kjell looks up from his counter as Toni and Rajni walk in, pushing aside an open novel. "What can I do for you two today?"
"I've heard you're the person I can get a gun from," Toni says. "And a 'gunslinger's manual', whatever that means."
"Ah, venturing into the exciting world of shooting things," Kjell says. "Sure, I can get that for you. What gun in particular?"
Arista smiles as she softly caresses his cheek before giving it a kiss, "Sure thing love. We'll be back as soon as I get everything taken care of. Come on Celine, it's time to go."
After getting their jackets on, Arista takes her daughters hand as they head out of the house.
Unsure of how long things would take with Marla, Arista decides to head to Halfpocket's first.
Elena shakes her head. "She's always so full of energy."
"A pistol, I guess," Toni says. "Michael says I should be able to repair a broken one once I've been 'trained', so we can do that if it's cheaper."
"Well, it'll be seven hundred and fifty gold for the pistol and three thousand gold for the manual," Kjell says. "Do you happen to have that?"

Rajni's mouth falls open, "Daaaammmnnnn...."
Arista holds onto Celine's hand as they enter the shop.
"Err...I have some healing potions I can trade," Toni says, the shock on her face obvious.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you don't have anywhere near that amount of money," Kjell says.
"Hello, Arista," Halfpocket says as the aasimar enters the shop. "And hello to you too, Celine."
"Ah, no..."
"Could I interest you in the cheaper but still entertaining lifestyles of a barbarian, fighter or..." Kjell offers before pausing to look at Rajni. "Ranger?"
Rajni puts a hand on her arm, "Crossbows are just another type of projectile weapon, and have a similar trigger mechanism. I can help out with some stuff, if it will mean keeping you as safe as possible. Do you think you could adapt to using a crossbow?" She looks down for a moment as she thinks, "If you're really more comfortable using these gun things, maybe we could go speak with Arista? I'm sure that she would be okay with helping out and between me and her I'm sure we could get you what you need. Sooo...what do you want to do?" She says, trying to give Toni options so that her friend doesn't feel like she has to "settle" on something if she's not comfortable using it.
Celine waves at Halfpocket as Arista gives him a smile, "Hey there, how are things going today? I'm out running some errands and thought I'd stop by. Alethiro said we need a whet stone for our axe. He and my brother have been chopping a lot of wood lately and it's made it a bit dull."
"I sell a pack of five for a silver," Halfpocket says, producing a leather pouch.
"Nah, it was just a thought since I used to handle guns a lot back...then," Toni says, consciously trying not to say 'home'. It was gone and there was no point trying to hold onto that life anymore. "Michael says I have untapped potential since I gave up my Summoner powers...but I need something or someone with the knowledge of the new path I want to take, so I can learn it all in a short amount of time."
She shrugs. "But I need to do something before I leave. I won't be much help if I'm getting attacked by goblins and can't do much more than flail around with a crossbow."
Rajni looks at Kjell before looking back at Toni, "I'm not sure what all Kjell carries, or what he has that might help you learn to use one faster, but...I will teach you everything I know if it will help."
Taking out a silver she hands it to him, "Thank you so much."
"You're welcome," Halfpocket says with a smile. "Anything else I can do for you?"
"Maybe we can talk to Michael...if you don't mind."
"I don't mind," Kjell says, pulling his novel back in front of him.
Toni glances over her shoulder. "I wasn't talking to you."
Rajni nods, "Sure, maybe he might have some ideas."
"I know," Kjell says absently. "I thought I'd offer my input anyway."
Rajni chuckles slightly before looking back at Toni, "I'm all for going to whoever can help you figure this out so you stay as safe as possible."
"Alright, let's go," Toni says, heading for the door. "Have a good day, Kjell."
Kjell just nods as he goes back to reading his book.
Rajni walks with Toni to the magic school.
She thinks for a moment, "No, I don't think so at the moment. How's everything going with you though?"
"Just keeping busy with the new faces and the holidays coming up," Halfpocket answers.
Niels opens the door after Toni and Rajni arrive. "Ah, Ms. Toni, Master Andimus said he was expecting you. Right this way."
He leads the duo to the sitting room and heads off to find Michael after they are seated.
She nods, "Yeah, I know what you mean. Things never seem dull around here. So many things going on all the time. Weddings, visiting representatives from various towns, trying to keep kids busy when it's too cold to go out and play, schools to set up, feasts to cook...and I haven't even started my holiday shopping yet." She kind of shrugs, "I really like how much our town has grown though, even if it is kind of hard to keep up with everything sometimes."
Rajni looks at Toni, "I wonder how he knew we were coming...that's kind of odd isn't it?"
"I did talk to Michael ahead of time," Toni says. "I just wasn't specific about when."
"The busyness is part of the appeal of the town, I think," Halfpocket comments.
She just nods, "Ohhhh...okay. I just didn't know you already talked to him."
She nods, "Yeah, as are all the different people that have come here. Anyways, I better get going. Alethiro's sister's wedding is tomorrow and I'm cooking the food for their reception so I need to get over to his parent's place and talk to them and see what all I still need to get for it. You have a great rest of your day."
"You as well," Halfpocket says. He produces a little wrapped chocolate. "That's for Celine, if she behaves."
He smirks. "If not, then it's for you."
