As declared, Sigfried would press the button and watch his comrades cross. He'd wait until after its reset before calling out to his friends. "Query: Should I remain with the button or join you?" he'd ask, only now realizing their may not be a button on the other side for them to get out later.

Sig reaches his hand toward the brazier, but after feeling the heat decides instead to poke it with the end of his falcata. The others pass through the archway.
Silas would be able to use mage hand from the other side of the arch on the way back.
The passage continues a short distance before descending a flight of stairs. Sindri leading, at the bottom of the stairs the walls on either side of the passage are replaced by iron bars set at close intervals - a long row of cells.
More than 100' feet distance a light moves about, two humanoids on foot, one holding the light, and a third humanoid riding atop some kind of insect like creature. Their garb is similar to that of the men you have encountered previously.
One of the humanoids look back down the passage, then instantly the light vanishes.
The insect mount is a giant scorpion.

As the arrow comes flying off of Lucius' shoulder, Sindri quickly snatches two arrows out of his quiver and fires them at the rider and the man beside him.

Siegfried would head into the darkness, his vision only revealing sixty feet of it. At this point, he had no other choice, trying to close the gap and find his targets as he moved forward forty feet. Once he could see them, he'd be at a much better place to join the fray.

Moving forward another twenty feet would finally reveal his target, the construct choosing this time to empower himself for the coming battle. Calling out to his goddess, he would feel the effects of Ironskin changing his body, giving his wooden body the same hardness of iron.

As they get closer the rider and mount charge forward, a battleaxe swinging for Sig's head.
