Harakhty Suntooth
Taking aim from above, Harakhty looses a quill at his opponent. Surrender, damn you! There was no telling what other ambushes their rival set for them, but this man might know.

Cyna moves forward and assists Gregario in keeping the beast away from their fallen ally.
Aurelea
As the monster tries once again to savage her, Aurelea tried to figure out why the effects of her blade seem negligible, but to no avail. Counting on the previous effectiveness of her last attack, she again prepares a spellstrike, this time infusing Oblivion with highly corrosive acid in an attempt to dissolve the creature's muscle tissue.

The werewolf drops to one knee from the acidic attack Aurelea delivers, while Gregario and Harakhty further deter the wolf. The werewolf looks to the magus with a submissive glare before returning to his human form.
"Milo, go!"
The dire wolf turns and breaks for the woods as the man stands, his eyes as dark as the night sky now. "You have bested me and I must accept the outcome of our fight. I respect your strength and skill, but I shall not wish you luck. Hopefully, if we cross paths again, it is under better circumstances."
He turns and disappears after the wolf.
Harakhty Suntooth
Damn it all! The vanara drops to the ground. "One reasonable person and he runs from us!" He reloads his crossbow, obviously upset. "We should pursue him and see what he knows. Leaving him regain his health while knowing our strength is a bad move. He can also tell us what other surprises our "friend" has in store for us."
If the party seems willing to detour after the man, let the below roll be my track check for it.

I believe we found a pot of cure light wounds last fight so as long as no one objects with healing the healer...
Cyna retrieves the potion of healing and carefully administers it to the unconscious Alethiro.

"Every moment we spend following him or being delayed, is another chance they have to protect the shard or for Reinhardt to win. Destroying the shard comes first. Everything else after otherwise the Paladins are dying for nothing." Aurelea spoke, clearly only waiting for Alethiro's recovery to continue along the path.
Alethiro Milocathe
Between the potion given to him by Cyna and the Paladin's healing touch, Alethiro regained concsiousness. The first face he sees is the Tiefling's, realizing what had just happened, he sat up and looked her over quickly. "Are you injured?" Then turning to the rest, "Or any of you for that matter?"
Harakhty Suntooth
Harakhty turned to Aurelea. She means well, but this is a mistake. If he makes it back, they will know we are but a handful and the path we will take. It is but to walk into our doom."
Cyna Singer
Gee thanks, cuz I haven't made a point to avoid these situations...
In a suprisingly authoritative tone Cyna makes her choice. "If we hunt after him we might save ourselves some trouble later on, but every second we waste puts your allies in more danger. We'll keep our path and face whatever lies ahead."
GM Henry Fortuna
Despite the vanara's misgivings about letting the werewolf go, the group decides to push on toward the shard.
You continue along the unchanging path until you see three individuals before you: a dark-haired half-elf eying you dangerously, a scarred dwarf whose helm is in the shape of a wolf's head and a half-orc with a sinister-looking mace in his hands.
"I knew we couldn't trust that wolf," the half-elf says, with an air of arrogance.
"Doesn't matter, it leaves the fun to us," the half-orc replies.
The dwarf looks to you. "So how would you like to do this? Grovel for mercy, have your little goody-two-shoes speech or shall we save the words for when you are lying on the ground broken and bleeding?"
Cyna Singer
With a laugh the tiefling follows Aurela's example and once again puts her bow to use by firing a volley of arrows at the Dwarf.

Harkahty's eyes and ears honed in on the Dwarf as he worked some magic, trying to discern what it was he attempted to do.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Whatever it was, he didn't understand the incantations. He did understand it wasn't likely all the Dwarf's words would be without effect. As before, he climbed the tree next to him, ready to strike the most threatening of the three.
GM Henry Fortuna
Harakhty takes to the trees, while the half-elf pulls a rapier and charges at Aurelea.
I'll rule that Shield is still in effect for this combat.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20; miss
"Perhaps we should leave this battle to the others," the half-elf says to Aurelea with a wink. "We can fight it out some other way."

Gregario glares at the dwarf.
"Your foul magic has no power over me fiend!" the paladin shouts.
After taking a swing at the adjacent half-elf, Gregario steps forward and away, closer to the evil spellcaster. D9

The tiefling's arrows soar past the dwarf. The antipaladin looks to his sword, muttering in Abyssal.
"បានមករកខ្ញុំ, វិញ្ញាណ, និងបំផ្លាញសត្រូវរបស់យើង។!"
The dwarf's sword shines with unholy light and he grins evilly, his features bathed in a black-blue light. Harakhty fails to hit the dwarf as well. The half-elf steps toward Gregario.
"Time to die, paladin. We don't need your kind here."

I know it's early for my action, but I'll queue it up as I won't be able to post again until tomorrow night.
The vanara's anger rose as his shot missed. Why can't I good with a bow like Naeem? His mate's arrows never missed their targets, it seemed, and he was equally talented with a spear. Harakhty had a new, deadly device with machinery and still couldn't hit a target - which he was sniping from above! I wasn't trained for this, he told himself, and yet ... You know you shunned those hunts whenever you could., he chastised himself.
He managed to set aside his inner upset for a moment, pulled the winch, and let another quill lose at the Dwarf.

Alethiro swings his mace over the half-elf's head, who glances at the large weapon with a sneer. This gives Gregario an opening to attack the antipaladin. The half-elf vomits blood from the attack. The half-orc swings at Gregario again.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21; Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Aurelea drives her blade into the half-elf, ending his life. The body falls to the ground, his face a final testament to his surprise.

The dwarf grunts as another bolt goes whizzing by his head.
