Game Master Broken Prince

Randomly generated characters go on random adventures for fabulous random treasures! Alright so they are build with a 20 Point Buy, and the DM does finagle things a little so they make some sort of sense, but otherwise utterly random!

Also designed as a low commitment campaign, with re-recruitment whenever the numbers drop below 6.

@Gabriel, its a large workbench with a work area in the middle and dozens of tools all of which sit in shallow depressions that fit them perfectly.

Kibur recognises the symbol of Clan Rough Diamond - it sounds better in Dwarven - a nomadic Clan made up of outcasts that is widely despised in Dwarven society.

Denenor chimes in with Yves. "Owners indeed. Let's keep the folks in mind having business with this shop; many of these things are likely their wares or puchases. This is not a plunder-house." He casts a withering look around, hoping to put an end to the get-rich-quick thoughts. "Surely we can search for the owners in a bit though; they will be grateful merely to know order has been restored and their items were retrieved."

The paladin didn't know anything about these Rough Diamonds though. "We'll have to keep an eye out for their markings. I have a feeling there are more of them than just struck here."

I'll advance things about an hour and a half in game in a couple of hours out of game. If you want to do anything in the meantime please do so, retconning will be fine as long as it is not in response to "future" events. My default assumption is that you intend to wait for Ozzit in the forge unless I hear otherwise.


As the sun begins to set five fur clad dwarves, approach the forge, all armoured and armed. You can see them coming through the windows and they appear to be in something of a hurry. Their appearance is more unkempt than typical dwarves seen in Absalom.

The dwarves push the door open and enter the forge with no apparent ill intent, their leaders eyes flash from you to the corpse and he reaches for his axe shouting,

As they go for thier weapons Kibur raises his hands and speaks out to them in dwarven. the emblem of his clan becomes visble indicating his noble status.

@Kibur its a nice diplomacy roll Kibur, but you aren't really there to negotiate a contract for your clan so I'll need a bluff check to go along with it please.

The oldest of the dwarves, by the grey lacing his beard, lowers his axe slightly and asks in halting common,

We were supposed to find out what happened and kill or capture whoever did it."


The dwarves exchange glances,

"We have foes here in two, seek to stop us taking our new home. Aide find here, and hinders to. Agents here for money men try yo pay us off, find somewhere else, try to threaten. Now seem kill friends."

we really need to have a plan for the future. If you want me to negotiate or use diplomacy then it might be helpful to allow me to do that. or at least come to a concensus about what our story is

You know as well as I do that his clan is not the most respected clans among the merchant guilds, still his talents do not go unnoticed. Perhaps the one you sought to use these weapons against have learned of the order and sought to prevent the shipment.

perhaps If you could tell us who it that you seek vengence against I will pledge what I can of my clan to assist

indicating that Kibur is not entirely with some influence.

Denenor was slow to see the subterfuge at first - and annoyed when he did realize what was going on - but he kept his silence. There was no need to upset those so quick to bloodlust.

He bows slightly to their visitors, happy to strike an accord. "I am Denenor, and if I may be so presumptuous of my partners, we would be happy to aid you in ensuring the murderer faces the consequences of his crimes."


"Good. We take dead of body to kin. You meet at Tin Hill in The Puddles, The Boar, we think watched, we show some maps give silver to make make bait be better, then you wait for approach. Yes?"

Tensions calmed the dwarves move forward and collect the body, shrouding it with their fur cloaks. They then reverentially carry the corpse away Ozzit pausing to say,

"Half hour, or after, then come."

After they depart, Denenor frowns. "Though I can get us to the puddles, I don't frequent such ... locations. Do any of you know where this "Tin Hill" is?" It was just the sort of shady area he did not want to visit, but duty called.

Chandra recalls that The Boar used to be a cavernous tavern with several fighting pits and even a stage where risqué plays and dances were put on. It has been flooded out for years, and the building has been abandoned like many in the district, until now apparently.

You head back towards Puddles, in no hurry since Ozzit asked for time...

As you make your way through the waterlogged byways of Puddles, just as Yves vaults over a puddle, you hear the sound of music... Pipes perhaps trilling a cheery little ditty that fills the otherwise empty streets.

Suddenly the water and cobbles boil with tiny furry bodies as thousands of rats pour from the decrepit buildings to surround you!

Elhona and Kibur:
Up on the roof of an abandoned building stands a halfling, who winks at you even as he continues to play his pipes.

Denenor, Elhona, and Chandra are up!

Water counts as difficult terrain. Knowledge Nature will get you rat swarm information, but you can also use common sense to a degree.

Seeing the swarm coming towards his fellows Yves does not think twice and moves onto the mass of squeaking rats, preparing the warhammer to snatch his targets.

I'm considering that the Swarm acts before Yves, so he will be in your reach on his turn.

He makes his way thinking about rats.
