I told you I'd maybe get creative with rewards for shockingly bad archeology, and here is my first draft:
- In each adventure of Serpent Skull, there will be artifacts. Some will be rumored of, some will be chance finds.
- You can claim every one of them once you find and secure it (enough to, in principle, be able to take / destroy / paint your name on)
- Each artifact you claim increases one base ability score by one. So, the ruby skull might grant each of you +1 base intelligence, while the Flutes of Carnage grant +1 base constitution.
- These bonuses are direct modification of your base score, and remain even if the artifact is sold, lost or abandoned.
I have placed 1 artifact for each ability score on Smuggler's shiv - some in areas you are bound to visit, some a ways off.
What do you think?

Sounds pretty neat!
It also sounds like something my character would go bonkers trying to find more once the first one is found... if there's loot to be looted, he'll do his damned-est to, even if it means sneaking out at night! Especially since I'm counting his previously accumulated treasure to be lost with the ship and he's desperate to replace it, despite being currently focused on the current needs of survival.
Since you've expressed frustration with your current writing skills and desire to improve, I thought I'd point out that it should be "land and sea" instead of "land and see". No, I don't plan on making a habit of this - but I figure it's something that would slip past a spell-check, so you just didn't notice that you did it several times. I know there's plenty of room for improvement in my writing skills as well, so I hope that didn't come across... poorly.

Question for in-game goings on:
In my excitement of the shipwreck, I forgot Misha had spells. (*smacks self*) (This is what happens when you start playing too many characters at once.)
But I assume on the other hand our rest was a tad interrupted by near death at sea and all. She's a spontaneous caster so doesn't need to prep but I'm not sure how the situation would affect how many spells she'd have left per day, etc.
If she DOES have her spells, she does have some cure light wounds she could spare for Alton--or hold onto them in case they're needed later (I know Alton got some healing from Rafflesia's positive energy channel). She's also got mending to help fix up the various things they salvage.

Hey guys. This has nothing to do with the PBP, but it's just something Pathfinder-related
I've worked on and happy with the way it came out: A Google Map of the Inner Sea.

That's great man :)
Do ya know if it is possible to download that page and use it offline? I'd love to load it up on a tablet and use it in a table game.
Heh, someone just asked me that in the other thread. With all the Google-y crap going on
in the background, my guess is you can't, but I've added it to my list of things to investigate.| GM TerraNova |
Due to circumstances beyond my control, my next update will be in ~24 hours at the earliest. :/ Sorry.
In an unrelated note, I would like to get somewhat tighter organization into the game. The flow currently is good, but it could be better if (for example) you agreed on a plan of action before announcing you split up. This time, i took things in stride and placed you all together before the encounter.
Also, it would help setting scenes.

Hi there.
My wife and daughter are still sick, and the workload is driving me bananas, so I don't know if i can crank out an update tonight. I made you a cookie, though - a map of what you have discovered on the shiv so far. I added it to a album that will hold all maps, ...
http://photobucket.com/guestlogin?albumUrl=http://s524.photobucket.com/albu ms/cc321/TerraN0va/mwangi%20expedition/
The password is map-leaf - you might remember that ;)
This one map is also directly available at

More sites will be added as you stumble upon them. For now, I added all the arial recon has yielded, plus what you know of the Shiv's general layout.

Going away for the weekend, not sure what connectivity I will have so please bot me if necessary.

I'm fine with either way, so if you prefer to use your own bag of dice behind the scenes that's cool with me. I use a dice tower and open roll in the Friday games that I run, but that's because it makes things go quicker and keeps the flow going when sitting around the table and I think that's the same thing you're aiming for here in the forums.

I'm a fan of anything that keeps things moving. I've been reading another campain that the GM rolls all initiatives behind the screen just for pacing purposes and it seems to be working out pretty well... they're up to almost 1000 posts in seven weeks.

Folks, as you may or may not know, I am suffering from a prolonged, nasty family crisis involving serious illness of my wife. Today, a checkup revealed her last surgery was unsuccessful, and while that is not life-threatening, it means another major surgery this year, as well as a crippling condition that heavily overshadows our relationship.
I am not cancelling this game, but this news shook me pretty severely, and I have no mind for any of this right now. I will update when I can, but right now have other issues on my mind.

In a time like this my poor english skills fail me, TerraNova. As a person who has gone through a similar situation I know everything else just fades into the background and loses its importance. We all understand that, and no one would think twice about giving you all the space you need.
Finally just want to say that I hope for the best for you and your wife.
