He nods and runs out, quickly grabbing all the gear he thought might help
a few hours after Antony departs, a strange man in a black robe walks into Adya's room.
"Oh? You're here."says Adya. The man simply presents a sign, that reads "what do you think you're doing?"
"What do you mean?"
responds Adya, to witch the man holds up another sign that says "you're just going to let him have all the glory? It wasn't just his dream, was it?"
Adya stares, dumbfounded for a while.
"I mean, I... ... You're right."
she starts gearing up, and the man helps. Eventually, as she heads out the door.
"You're in charge while I'm gone."
the man makes a bunch of signs with his hands.
I always am, you just don't know it.
Adya tilts her head.
"I'm going to act like whatever that was meant yes."
the man smiles and nods, as Adya darts out the door.

"Being able to talk to the people we're supposed to negotiate with generally helps diplomacy. I don't know a whole lot about proteans, honestly. What are we here to do again?"
He leans against a tree, rubbing the snake on his shoulders under the chin. Sometimes it's easy to forget she used to be a human and doing this would be weird.

Kora doesn't much seem to care, nuzzling into the attention.

"I am ready. I will try and find weaknesses in the cave if we need them. I hope that will not be necessary."
Ellen says idly spinning one of her arrows before returning it too her quiver. Luna sits upon the top of her bow strapped to her back.

Keaton thinks for a moment, twirling a paint brush in his fingers.
"That does seem fair. More or less the same as if there were bears in here. It's close enough to the town that they could be dangerous if they're willing to attack unprovoked. I think we should go in side by side with Ellen and Efude up front and La'Vassa and I behind. We don't attack unless they move first."
He puts the paintbrush back through his belt loop and dons his chain shirt under his coat.
"Are we ready?"

Keaton shrugs.
"I suppose that's fair. Ellen, you can go behind Efude. He'll be easier to shoot over if necessary. But we have to remember we can't provoke them. And let's stay together in here."
If no one else has any suggestions, they start towards the cave. He'll cast Dancing Lights if necessary.

there's a glimmer from around the corner, a creature in the darkness. A quick pause in the eidolon's motion, as they note something in the darkness.
map updated.

Keaton stops for a moment to see if there's anything to be gained by listening.
Also intended to stick left, but they may have just missed that branch off.
whoops. My brain went to the left of the map.
'in the other portion of the cave, there is audible gibbering, but none of it understandable. Behind them is a portion of the cave that was just caught, as the opening was at an angle hard to see until they started down this corridor.

Antony finds himself at the opening of a cave, that the nearby town directed him to. The town had been preparing for evacuation, they were so afraid. The cave opening is spread wide before him, totally black, not a noise from inside.
Anthony thanks the townsfolk for their directions and warning, and tells them that if they feel greatful to pass that along to the town or to their nearest church of The Morning Lord
At the entrance to the cave, Anthony kneels to say a prayer, asking for the strength to defeat protect the townspeople, professing a willingness to sacrifice himself, and asking for the comfort of his loved ones if it came to that. Anthony prays for a while before he gets to it, unsheathing his blade and taking out the scrolls he was given to cast the spells on them, empowering his soul and turning the top layer of his skin into something akin to iron.He then focuses on his blade and the soft glow turns brighter as it is suffused with celestial energy.
He walks into the cave, trying to be as stealthy as possible

it becomes increasingly obvious there is no stealth to be done, as he climbs down by the light of his sword. The enterence to the cave is perfectly linear. Eventually, he comes upon a shadowy form of a dragonlike creature, gold scattered under it and across the base of the cave. The only motion it makes is a dull breathing.

Knowing that caves echo, Keaton quietly brings the others together.
"Ok, that's not encouraging, but it may still have been a misunderstanding. Stay on guard, but we still try not to provoke conflict. We're never gonna understand what they're saying, but maybe they might speak common as well."
Unless anyone objects, they'll go and encounter the creatures.
Everyone should say whether or not they object before we go.

Anthony prepares himself to attack, further empowering himself and smiting the dragon before quickly attempting to charge it
initative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
as Antony charges, the creature rears up and let's out an ear-shattering roar, filled with pain, fear and anger. The room shakes, and a fine mist scatters across the room, smelling of rot. As Antony charges foreward, the dragon becomes more visible from the glow of his sword. The dragon indeed stands on four legs, has vast wings, and is rather large- the actual size was a bit overestimated, however. It's curled horns are barely intact, with chips taken off of them everywhere. The dragon's scales seem dead in patches, and look like tarnished steel. The whole room begins to smell of rot and decay, and even dispite Antony's protection, he can't help but feel a little ill. The dragon hunches back down, snarling, and it's face is obviously missing a few features, namely, it's eyes, that are nothing but scars. Yet it seems to look directly at Antony, and starts to breathe in heavily.| icehawk333 |
the dragon roars in pain as the sword cleaves into it's leg. The dragon chokes down the breath weapon it had been about to attempt, and starts to attack, a while, enraged fury, sending dead, rotten scales everywhere. It whips about, a flurry of enraged claws, stinking of pestilence, wings stripped of flesh, and a mouth full of broken teeth, all failing to pierce the defenses of the spells the warrior had laies out, and even those that would have, whiffing due to the dragon not knowing where to aim. It's a pitiful display, until the dragon, enraged, jumps and spins, whipping around and impacting Antony with it's tail.

Anthony doges, dips ducks dives and dodges the incoming strikes all except that final tail slap, but he responds to a pair of sword swipes to that very same tail, both of which strike true

the dragon swings it's tail hard at Antony, but most of it falls off, as it swings around again to attempt to maim him. It misses wildly, over and over, until it chomps down, taking a chunk out of Antony's left shoulder.
