the gaurd pushes la' vassa off.
"Someone say that in common, please?"
La'Vasa pouts.
"the librarian in the tower, we could use his help for a mission. we need someone to watch his library while he helps us."
Ellen explains as La'vasa's behavior causes her a headache.
"Oh. Well, I suppose I could help with that."
"Shall we, then?"
A little while later, the group, and Larry, are standing outside the library doors.
so, fill me in, will you?
"we want to go to a cave that currently has proteans in it and see what information can be gained from them."
Ellen explains.
I... See. Alright. I trust you know where the cave is?
La'Vassa grumbles at the long silence, given the other two's previous dismissal of her "you has a map?"
"I don't not. we should probably tell Ayda that we have a leader for this mission. she also has the information on its location."
"La'Vassa had been talking to squid brain man. But if you wants to talk to boss lady again whatever"
larry rifles about, and pulls out a map of the area, rolling it open in front of himself.
La'Vassa reads the map and eventually points to a particular spot "protians be in here"

Larry shifts a bit.
i've got an idea. Give me a moment.
and he wanders back to the library, for a while.
"Ideas are good yes"
larry, when he gets to the library, starts rummaging about his desk.
La'Vassar taps her foot where she was left
Before Larry returns, another scholarly figure hustles out of the building and up to the group.
"I heard there was an expedition, and I thought you might be able to use a couple more hands."
He's a kind of twiggy fellow, and oddly equiped, carrying a staff with a clump of bristles at the end stained in various colors. A bag is slung over his shoulder stained in multiple colors of paint, and he has four rods on his belt, three of which are magic to the enchanted eye.
He has on a dark blue robe, open over his black vest and wide cuffed blue pants. His skin is slightly tan, and evenly colored. Not counting his striking blue eyes, the most abnormal things about him are the stark white and floppy fox ears that stand above his messy black hair, and the set of four plush white tails, each tipped with black, blue, yellow, and pinkish red fur respectively. He obviously takes good care of his appearance, clothes neat and fashionable, hair and fur clean and groomed.
The Tan furred succubus smiles at the approach of the skinny summoner scholar and skips up to him "oh yes, your hands can be of much service to La'Vassa~"
Kora isn't far behind Keaton, quietly wrapping around his feet.
Larry follows soon after, carrying a handful of shiny blue crystals.
La'Vassa blinks as the tentacle man shows up "what are the shiny rocks for?"
Larry offers one to each person present in turn. these will all help me communicate with you from a distance, so I don't actually have to go in with you.
"So we is to be telling guard man to go back to be doing regular jobs then?"
Larry shrugs noncomittally.
La'Vassa takes her crystal and slips it into her pocket before nodding and asking "very wells, is everybody ready for going to finding out what Prothieans be doing?"
The fox eared summoner smiles as the gnoll approaches, taking her hand and giving her a slow twirl before kissing the back of her hand softly in a slight bow.
"Among other things I hope.~"
He stands back upright and regards the group as a whole.
"I am Keaton Lafayette Renard, previously traveling, now stationary artist, and ever a practitioner in the art of summoning. A pleasure to meet you all."
He softly lifts the snake at his heels.
"This is one of my two companions, Kora, a natural magician and herbalist."
Kora softly hisses, more a simple aknowkadgement then a threat.
Larry nods, and walks back to the library.
La'Vassar grins at the summoner's greeting "oh a charmer, La'Vassar likes~ cute snakeie you has there you say she is one of two yes? Who is other friend?"
Ellen takes the rock and stores it in a pouch on her belt.
then looking to the new comer.
"any aid is appreciated. I'm Ellen."
Keaton smiles and nods to Ellen.
"Wonderful to meet you."
He pulls a bit of string from his pocket, wrapping it around the stone in a crossed pattern before slipping it over his neck.
"I need a bit of space to call upon my other companion, better to do so outside of busy streets."
"very well. If no one needs anything else then we should leave soon."
"All the more reason to be off!" she takes the map and begins to head towards their destination
I'll be watching. Hurry off. says Larry, as they head off. It's quite a long walk, and the group might even have to set up camp along the way. Soon enough, they find themselves at the entrence of a cave, the place marked on the map.
now would be the time to prepare, and plan. What do you intend to do?
meanwhile, Adya and Antony were talking about a less public assignment.
"So, why I asked you to stay... It's because we've had reports... Of a dragon, Antony. A real dragon."
"If we could avoid conflict with them that would be best."
Ellen states.
"I believe the question is how do we get close to talk to them?"
Anthony blinks in surprise before nodding, resolute "probably a drake, if we're lucky maybe just a wyvran"
"I've been told it's the size of a house, stands on all four legs, and it's very breath is toxic."
"... hmm that's not like any sort of drake or wyvran I can think of, maybe the protians or devils mutated one of them... Permission to slay the dragon?"
"I had to ask, unfortusntly. It causes desease thst kills in minutes, according to the same report. And last I checked, you said you were immune."
"III'm not sure. I heard there were proteans which may be a problem? But of course having them move on should be ideal. I somewhat doubt they are going to be real friendly, though."
He follows along, thumbs on his belt with the paintbrush strapped to his back.
He stops the group once they're out of the town for a moment to "call on my friend."
He finds a clear space and draws the paint brush from his back. His four tails spread out evenly and he focuses for a moment as thick ink pours from the ends of his tails into four pools. Using the large brush, he draws a line from each pool to each of the others, making a circle with a four pointed star in the middle. These flash and glow once, all of the ink rising up and coalescing into something of a bear or wolf like animal with a large bushy tail. Each of its limbs is one of the ink colors with its tail and body being a shifting amalmgam of all of the colors.
"This is my other companion Efude. He might look a little scary, but he's a big softy."
The ink beast huffs at this indignantly.
"That is one of the protections my god has graced upon me, yes. How far away is it?"
Adya offers a map.
"Here. Twelve hours away. By horseback."
"I agree. but let's try and not provoke them, if we must fight we can always fight."
Ellen reasons as she goes through her equipment.
He takes the map and studies it for a bit before nodding "I'll be right out as soon as I grab some provisions"
"Hurry along. This might be something important."
