You're so negative, Drazan. I for one welcome our new undead templates!
Nat Oqueva
GMBP: makes sense. I think part of the problem is just that the Fly spell is soooo old (older than Pathfinder, 3.5 and even the internet) and it was never properly updated to account for e.g. the Fly skill (which - you guessed it - it predates), so the idea that you would have to make a skill roll to hover was never considered when the spell was invented. Oh well.
In other news, I see that my post in the gameplay thread was partially eaten. What larks.
Istiel
Yup, Fly spell does not grant the +4 fly skill bonus from good maneuverability. Did you decide if she floats to the ground or keeps moving? Her floating to the ground wouldn't be enough to wake her up without another save, but flying until she hits something might.
Istiel wasn't able to find Yd before she got put to sleep, he's definitely moved by now, and it's going to probably take another round of perception checks to figure out where he is from his spellcasting. So my plan to shut down the spellcaster failed spectacularly. Thanks, Will save!
So once Istiel wakes up (I hope she gets another save next round) she'll flank Drazen's ogre and we can put these things down before they kill us all.
GM Belicose Poultry
Yup, flying until she hits something would wake her up, but she's floating to the ground. She'll be asleep and need to be woken.
Good news though: thankfully her monk training will allow her to hold onto her torch, even while asleep, so she won't wake up in the dark!
EDIT: Istiel, you will however, get to reroll your will save, thanks to Nat!
Istiel
LOL, I wouldn't be mad if she dropped the torch, sleep is one hell of a spell. SoP at least made it single-target and decreased the power somewhat.
Wow the Mind Sphere is full of incredibly potent talents. It's safe to say Yd is a Control caster... the most deadly when paired with brutes like the ogres.
Edit: Don't look under the spoiler of my most recent gameplay post. Just don't.
Well, you can either throw an alchemical flask or a rock or something at Istiel to wake her up. I suppose Nat could summon her spirit wolf next to Istiel and it could use an action to rouse her as well?
GM Belicose Poultry
More good news. Istiel is out of the darkness effect so her torch works normally. Map updated.
EDIT: Google slides combat map added to the campaign header.

Oh, Istiel...
And I think you will find that Great Chaquapetl, Father of Coywolves, and Herald of Ayida-Wedu has more important things to do than simply act as some sort of seeing-eye dog.

Istiel has jerky in her jute sack! Chaquapetl will get a treat if it's a good doggy...
Nat Oqueva
That "doggy" is the size of an elephant (not that we know what those are, which made describing tricky) - you'd need a big bit of jerky...
... the one shaped like a sleeping monk would do nicely.
On another note: GMBP - has the entangled effect worn off yet?
Istiel
Okay look, if you want to play monk chew toy then have Chaquapetl pick Istiel up in its mouth and toss her at an ogre.
Seriously, Bolt? THERE ARE MORE OGRES?
Well I'm 0/2 for sound tactical decisions thus far, so I'm welcoming more opportunities to redeem myself.
Nat Oqueva
I don't think you want this "doggy" to play with you...
Istiel
Hopefully Bolt will be able to rouse Istiel. Any consensus on whether you'd like Istiel to go after Yd or help attack ogres? Currently leaning towards Ogres, she'd probably just get slept again if she goes for Yd.

First we fight the website, then the boss monsters.
Imix
Ladies and gentelemen, the website appears to be going under. I don't know whether this message will get through, but I am still here. I'll hope to get a post up in the near future, but don't wait for me.
I plan to have Imix back up and channel again.
Nat Oqueva
Welp, it's like Nietzche said: when you struggle with the website, sometimes the website crushes your soul. Or something.
Oios
Quick question, does Telowo's staff glow brighter the closer it gets to an undead?
Istiel
Can Yd be stuck by Istiel, or is he uh... in the floor?
GM Belicose Poultry
Nat, I'm thinking on the cure attack. I don't have an issue with the positive energy damaging undead, but I'm wavering on it being autodamage, instead of requiring a touch attack.
Your attack will be a readied action, if he's in range when he comes back up.
Can Yd be stuck by Istiel, or is he uh... in the floor?
He's in the floor. You can ready an action to attack him if he comes up near you. He'll get cover, per the incorporeal rules.
Nat Oqueva
GMBP, if it helps to think of it by analogy with the Mass Cure Light/Moderate/Whatever Wounds - there's no attack roll needed for those, either. It's a lot less powerful than a fireball (but I can't cast those): it requires a talent to use and it takes a spell point each time it's used. I think it's balanced as it stands.
But you're the DM and it's your call :)

Save me Drazan!
In all seriousness, I just saw Thor: Ragnarok, and Drazan about to die and deciding to go on the offensive has the soundtrack from that going through my head...
Edit: Drazan - did you remember the +3 damage buff floating around?
Nat Oqueva
You know what, scratch that. I hadn't realised how badly hurt Drazan is. I'll use my heal spell on him instead.
Drazan: +12 hit points for you. Try not to shed them all at once.
Oios
No time to make post, wanted to give Drazan a buff. Is it possible to Hallow Drazan against Evil before he attacks?
The target of this word gains a +1 sacred bonus (profane bonus if you are evil; if you are neither good nor evil you must choose whether you grant sacred or profane bonuses with this sphere) to attack rolls, AC, and saving throws made against targets of your opposed alignment (evil for good, lawful for chaotic, etc.). This bonus increases by 1 for every 10 caster levels possessed.
The target also gains immunity to any spell or sphere effect that possesses or exercises mental control over them (including enchantment [charm] effects and enchantment [compulsion] effects), so long as that effect originates from a creature who possesses your opposed alignment.
GM Belicose Poultry
@Nat, I'm not so concerned with now, with the attack being basically a cmw ranged touch attack, but rather looking into the future. Mass cure moderate wounds is a 6th level spell. But, the basic cure sphere does allow for harming undead with a touch attack. So it seems, thematically and mechanically, it should work.
Regardless, we can cross that bridge when we come to it. If you want to use it in this fight as you've described, I'm fine with it. It will require a line of sight, though.
@Oios, you may want to save the action.

Nope I missed the +3 damage. Ill add that going forward. Looks like I didn't need it for the ogre though.

Thank you Nat! Drazan's mood toward Nat is improved by +1 for this healing. :)
No promises on keeping it very long though. I barely squeaked by those first two rounds.| Imix |
Now Imix is out of combat (assuming he is) I'm happy to start buffing or healing. looks at Drazan healing maybe.
Hey Istiel, how 'bout you take some damage and make this an easier decision ;P
Istiel
Sorry, she was too busy being useless without almost dying this time!
Drazan of Peklenc
Yay heals! Thanks Oios. +1
Istiel
I think Yd fled down the street underground?
Istiel is criss-crossing the ruins to look for anything suspicious. Wouldn't put it past Yd to make the ogres set up some rumble to fall on top of us. Also trying not to get too far ahead of the group.
GM Belicose Poultry
OK, I'm updating the map. Anything within 20 - 40 feet of Istiel or Imix is low-light, with all the pros and cons. I've removed the grey blocks otherwise, so just keep that in mind as you move.
The remaining gray block is the rock dome in Istiel's spoiler.
Istiel
Oooh really cool design here BP. Yd was more than ready for us!
Busy at work, will post when able.
Istiel
Imix, the rest of the picks are in the Haversack, which Oios has. Istiel is also carrying one, but she's kind of flying and you probably don't want her to drop it for Imix to try and catch?
Illusion magic, eh? It's probably the bridge over the chasm, because that would be hilarious.
Nat Oqueva
More to the point, it's a Will save to disbelieve any illusions - once you've "interacted" with them. (At least, I think that's still how it works in SoP? Confess I'm behind on my reading)
Does having Oios point out that there's illusion magic in the area count as "interacting" with a possible illusion and thereby allow the Will save to disbelieve?
GM Belicose Poultry
Oios knows there's auras, and that one is an illusion aura, but he won't know more until he gets closer, as he was at the edge of his divination range and by sight using human eyes to look into dim light from another light source far away.
Once Oios identifies the where the aura(s) comes from, everyone that interacts with the illusion aura (which will include looking at it and disbelieving it, since it will have been pointed out), can make the will save, with a +2 circumstance bonus.

Uh, I've forgotten.
What's our actual goal here?
I know we were exploring, and fighting Yd out of defence...
but why were we exploring?
Happy to keep fighting, just feel like I'm forgetting something.

Clearing the path for our people so they don't get victimized by pure evil I think

Hmm.
We could go around the island.
That said, I reckon there's a stairway in here that gives easy passage down.
Istiel
Istiel, did you roll a perception check?
Yeah, I pre-emptively rolled one with the action of Istiel scouting out the area.
Scouting out the darkened spaces, trying not to get too far ahead of everyone. BP, if Istiel sees anything that would make her stop please let me know!
Action 1: Move at 45 degree angle to L6, move 30' horizontally and increasing altitude to 30'
Action 2: Move horizontally 50'to V6
Action 3: Move horizontally 30' to V12
Perception if needed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
ALSO
Happy 2 year aniversary everyone!
