"PUPA! STAY WITH BITER!" the gray-green warrior yells as the little dragon-thing moves dangerously away from him…

Biter - Round 5:
Biter will try to follow the little thing into the mist, continuing to try to protect it, sword held ready for the first opponent he comes across.

Drop Rage.
Move Action - Go one full movement in the direction Pupa just went (or until he's once again adjacent to the creature).
If he comes across an opponent, he'll attack (ending his movement). If not, he'll ready an attack at the end of his movement.

Readied Attack (starting rage back up) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24.
Damage 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17.

Screamed goblin curses punctuate the goblin's movement through the fog.

[Ooc]Somehow, I missed narrating Rath's last attack, which hit and brought down the wolf in front of him. Remaining wolf is down the hole.
Biter moves off into the fog, finding no trace of any invisible foes.

Tracant slithers over to the edge of the pit, ready to bite the wolf if it comes topside.
Up next: Rath, Alexis, Pete

I'm not sure what Rath's position is. It was dependent on Tracant's last position. So Rath will move to to any nearby vertical that hasn't been searched and proceed due North. If he encounters anything invisible. He will attempt to grapple it.

Round 5:
Grapple (hand):
To Hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Rath's AC vs Grapple: 24 / 21 (Due to Improved Grapple)

Really could use a map update.

Round 5:
See round 4.

Initiative Order:
Wolves
Biter
Witches
Griselda
Tracant
Rath
Alexis
Pete
Pupa
Burnsten
Elorin
Abbas
Gregor

Rath steps over to the 155 vertical and moves thirty feet through the mist, finding nothing.

Alexis uses her sphere to burn away 6 squares of mist, also revealing nothing.

Up next: Pete, Pupa, Burnsten, Elorin, Abbas

MAP UPDATED

Sorry about slow posting folks. When you have a stomach bug, it slows things down. When you have a stomach bug and teach elementary music during Christmas Concert time, posting and updating maps take a back seat to wishing you were dead. Hopefully, we can get this little encounter over and done with asap.

Round 5 actions:

Pete re-readies his hammer throw.

Pupa sighs a little faerie dragon sigh and plops down on top of Biter's head. "Why Savageman so tired?"

Burnsten moves into the mist at DR155, flailing about with his sword.

Up next: Elorin, Abbas, Gregor

Male Elf Wizard (Admixture-Evoker) AC: 15/15/13 w/magic 23/15/20 Init:+9 Perc:+10 F:+7 R:+7 W+8

Elorin will single move over to where he last saw the witch and then start to track her moving in the direction of her tracks with his second move, even though she is invisible.
survival 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Biter frowns a mighty frown, "Biter is notting tired!"

Biters trait let's him ignore his first bout of fatigue... so he's not fatigued after dropping rage first time.

Male Human Cleric 3

Abbas will double move to DQ 154. If he runs into anything unseen he will announce it.

Human Male Investigator (Steel Hound) 2 | HP 17/17 | AC 17 T 13 FF 14 | Fort+2 Ref +5 Will +4 | Initiative +3 | Perception +9 (+10 vs. Traps)| Inspiration 4/4 | Grit 1/1

Seeing what Elorin is trying to do, Gregor moves over and tries something similar, but with hopefully better results.

Survival:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Male Elf Wizard (Admixture-Evoker) AC: 15/15/13 w/magic 23/15/20 Init:+9 Perc:+10 F:+7 R:+7 W+8
Gregor Trevian wrote:

Survival:1d20 + 13

Yeah, I can't track for %^#$%$@

Elorin is unable to find any tracks. Abbas finds no obstructions.

Gregor moves over and begins the full-round action of looking for tracks.

ROUND 6

The wolf leaps up again, trying to escape the pit.
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 The wolf doesn't even make it halfway up before sliding down.

Up next: Biter, Witches, Griselda

Human (Romandan)

Good to see you back, and hope everything is okay now, or at least, on the mend. Feel free to jump in any time. The rest of the party is kind of flailing around in a forest, looking for invisible foes at the moment. There's also a wolf in a pit that Tracant is waiting to get topside.

So Pupa is on my head, right? As in, he'll move with me when i move?

Hi folks. Sorry about the slowness again. Christmas Concert Week II has now come and gone, so I'm back in action again (at least until actual Christmas arrives).

Yes, Biter, Pupa is on your head for the moment. No telling if she's planning on staying there, however.

Wasn't Pupa a 'he' not to long ago? What did Griselda DO to it? >.<

Alexis Kirmoon wrote:

[Ooc]While the possibilities for tasteless jokes here are limitless, I'll refrain. Suffice it to say, Pupa was always a he, except somebody early on refered to him as a she, and since it didn't really matter, it was easier to go along with it than correct. Only sometimes, I still think of him as a he and others...

Biter - Round 6:
Biter stalks back to the center of the group, still watching warily for the unseen hag and her cronies, blade held in a ready grip.

Move to DR-159.
Ready an Action to Rage > Attack if he comes into contact with something unseen or an enemy.
Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
--> damage 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19.

Tracant continues to wait for the wolf to "surface" (unless his player is back for good and wishes to change this).

Up next: Rath, Alexis, Pete

Since the Hag could be anywhere, Rath swings back around and returns to the base of Alexis' tree. He searches in a circular pattern moving away from the tree hoping to hear or run into the Hag. If he finds her, he will attempt to grapple.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Round 6:

Grapple (hand):
To Hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Rath's AC vs Grapple: 24 / 21 (Due to Improved Grapple)

Why do I feel like Rath should start saying "Marco..." right about now? :)

Perception 1d20+9

Why do I feel like Rath should start saying "Marco..." right about now? :)

To be honest, folks, if it weren't for that stupid wolf stuck in the hole, I would have ended rounds awhile back. Do we all want to just handwave away the last wolf so we can interact and start solving things more efficiently?

Yes, please do. If need be, Alexis or Elorin can fill it full of arrows/bolts.

Between Alexis' bolts and Tracant slithering down into the hole to finish it off, the wolf is easily dealt with.

Gregor is able to find the hag's tracks. Apparently, after being revived by the unknown source of healing magic, she slipped down into the exposed pit, then out the other side. Gregor follows her tracks north out of the area of the entangle spell, then west around the battle site, and southwest. After following them for a hundred feet, her tracks join with two other sets of tracks and all three head southwest.

Human Male Investigator (Steel Hound) 2 | HP 17/17 | AC 17 T 13 FF 14 | Fort+2 Ref +5 Will +4 | Initiative +3 | Perception +9 (+10 vs. Traps)| Inspiration 4/4 | Grit 1/1

Gregor looks grimly at the others...

"It appears if we are to maintain our 'no contact' policy, we will need to track the hag down and eliminate any witness that has seen us."

"Agreed, let's see if any of the faerie dragons know where they might be headed and try to cut them off."

With that, Alexis turns to Pupa to see if s/he knows where Griselda is heading.

"He he, we find out real quick if'n the hag be near, as Pupa be turnin' inta a butterfly, 'Lexis."

"No, that's Quist who turns into a butterfly. Pupa was still on top of Biter's head just a moment ago."

"How in th' Nine Hells kin ye tell 'em apart? They all look th' same ta me!"

"Well, for starters, Pupa is pink and Quist is presently still a butterfly."

"Ach, that does it! When we be gittin back ta camp, I be makin' name tags fer all of 'em!"

Pupa flaps over towards Alexis and Pete, and lands on the dwarf's face, clinging to his beard.

"Pupa know where she's going. She..." (sniff, sniff) Pupa's eyes widen as she takes in Pete's heady aroma. "Ick!" and she takes off again, landing on top of Biter once more. "Who would ever think Savageman would smell better? She headed to her hut, up river many hours walk for you long legs. She keep other villagers there. You go save them?"

Human (Romandan)

Tracant will remain vigilant of the wolf, unless needed else were forsoemthing more important.

Pupa we are already here and going to destroy those hags, we can help them also I suppose

The butterfly Quist flits over and lands on Pupa's head.

"Griselda not have big lead yet," Pupa says, crossing her eyes to look up at Quist. "Maybe we catch up? Pupa show way. We take long legs' canoe? It faster than walking even."

Pete looks back over to where the canoe was hidden previously. His mind calculated the time lost to retrieve it, versus the time saved actually canoeing.

He shakes his head, "I t'ink we waste too much time retrieving th' canoe." He picks up his pick, and hoists it on his back. "Plus, if we wanna track her,' nodding at Elorin, "we gotta be on foot."

"Long legs have no canoe!? We not catch her walking. Must leave now! Must go now!"

Pupa grabs Biter's ears and starts flapping in a southwesterly direction.

"Well, you and Quist know this area best. Alright everyone, follow that faerie dragon."

Under her breath (in case unseen ears are listening, she whispers), "If we can head off Griselda before she makes it back to her lair, we may be able to search for magical defenses and liberate some allies..."

Pupa leads you onwards and southwest-wards. Gregor and Elorin are able to spot occasional tracks from the three witches you are following, confirming Pupa's sense of direction.

After about 10 minutes, Quist suddenly reforms into himself. "Oh dear. This mean hag getting further ahead. Quist out of range of curse. Quist make long legs fly like Quist, but magic not last long enough. Not catch up to hag. Most of you fly fast enough, but not all." Quist turns to look at Abbas. "Shiny man wear too much metal to fly fast. Griselda return to hut and maybe hurt friends. Quist very sad."

Male Elf Wizard (Admixture-Evoker) AC: 15/15/13 w/magic 23/15/20 Init:+9 Perc:+10 F:+7 R:+7 W+8

It may be difficult to track them and catch up with them since we have slow down to look for tracks. If Pupa and Quist know where the hags are going maybe we should just try to beat them there and then ambush them?

Biter points at Elorin with his sword, "LongEars has'ing a good idea. If'ing Biter is knowing where the green witch lives, Biter is'ign to set a trap for her."

"I dinnae means ta burst yer bubble, but..." Pete points a gnarled finger at one of his boots, "I not be a fleet footed soul...sole...SOLE! Get it?" He chortles with a gravelly laugh.

Human (Romandan)

We are not sure they are going back to their lair or what ever hole she crawls out from, but if Quist know the direction we can reach here there or her possible next destination to surprise her. If she is too far ahead of us I doubt we might be able to catch up in time

Alexis gives Biter and Elorin a curious look. I suppose I whispered what I said earlier a bit too quietly. Well, at least we are in agreement.

"Regardless of whether or not she is headed back to her lair, that is where we will find and liberate the other members of Quist's village. For now, consider that our intended destination. Quist, any spells you can provide that might allow us to travel more quickly would be beneficial."

Male Elf Wizard (Admixture-Evoker) AC: 15/15/13 w/magic 23/15/20 Init:+9 Perc:+10 F:+7 R:+7 W+8

Naz, is everything ok, it has been a while since you checked in? Just checking to make sure this patient is still alive...

Yeah, it's still alive, but on life support. I kind of went into PBP overload awhile back. Several games have died off, for which I'm grateful, and I've been making a conscious effort to not be on the computer so crazy much. Also, I've become completely diverted/obsessed by Superstar 2011. Let's see if we can't get this going again, though.

Quist looks at Pupa, blinks twice, then turns back to Alexis, scribbling a diagram on the ground. When he speaks again, he sounds very patient.

"Quist can cast fly spells on new friends. Fly spells last 12 minutes. Metal man only fly so fast, so we get here. Hag get this far in same time. Quist could recast, but now Quist too close to hag and is butterfly. No spells. Without metal, we fly much faster and get in front before spells run out. Quist still butterfly, but now Quist friends in front of hag and lay ambush."

Male Human Cleric 3

Glad the thread didn't die. Sounds like I'm gettin' nekked

Worry not Quist. Assuming we have a minute I can get out of this armor. It is likely that we may need you friends to help us in this fight. But if you are capable of speech as a butterfly could you let me know when we near the ambush site so I can bless myself with some protection

If he says we can wait 1 minute Abbas will remove his armor and begin the flight. When Quist lets him know by speech or some other method (landing on his nose?) that we near the ambush site I will cast shield of faith on myself bringing AC up to a whopping 15

"Metal man's friends not able to carry little pieces of metal for him? Oh well, Pupa become invisible and watch for hag. She warn metal man when time for magic is near." Quist starts casting fly spells on people as soon as Abbas has removed his armour. You all have 12 minutes of unsteady (except for Alexis who has a bit of practice) flight. At some point, Quist morphs into a butterfly again and nestles himself against Alexis to be carried (since he can't keep up in that form).

You land along the riverbank. Do you wish to find a spot for an ambush, or hightail it to the hag's hut?

Human Male Investigator (Steel Hound) 2 | HP 17/17 | AC 17 T 13 FF 14 | Fort+2 Ref +5 Will +4 | Initiative +3 | Perception +9 (+10 vs. Traps)| Inspiration 4/4 | Grit 1/1

"Unless we think we've managed to get ahead of the witch, we should get to her hut before she has much time to raise any defenses."

Pete mentally adds flying to the list of things he decides NEVER to do again. Once he has touched the ground again, he plants a kiss on the soil, ignoring the stares of his companions.

"Aye, I dinnae t'ink we gots time fer settin' an ambush....What??"
