First, I don't want this comment to be seen as aggressive because it really isn't meant that way at all, but I do think it should be addressed. Bold and large text is just meant as a highlight and not meant as rude or shouting. Before you do anything further look at what Pandora was asking BEFORE she was going to d-door.
"I can dimension door 4 of us for up to 800 feet" Pandora looks past the barrier trying to assess if her spell might reach far enough to surpass it "I am sure Braxus can make each of us fly over anyway Fendel" the woman laughs.
[dice=Perception]1d20+11=>15
Pandora keeps inspecting the distance to know if she can teleport part of the team "How many feet do you think that's it people? Less than 800?"
If so, she will cast dimension door on the four that cannot fly, counting herself.
What she was asking, and we somehow missed is the next part
judging by the map, the thing might be about a mile and a half across
So since that was obviously missed, we should either 1) say she just didn't d-door at all and save the spell(since she said she would only cast it if she thought it work to get us across), retconning us trudging through, taking the hours it will take, because at a mile and a half a fly potion might not get us up and over in the short duration(5 min and it takes 15 min to go 1.5 miles if I'm not encumbered, not including going up and down) even if I carry the group, or 2) we just keep going as if she missed read the map, cast the spell and got stuck. She can cast it again if she wants of use some other way out, but flying out is just as bad as anything if it is that thick.

no offense taken. If we were at a table, then I would have repeated the info. But, we're not, and the information is available in the post before, and the action was ratified by everyone as a "good idea". Your level 8+, and taking on a known tough scenario, so I'm gonna be tough on you about this. No recon here, so you'll have to handle it however you choose to.
Braxus Ironheart
|
That is fine. I just wanted to make sure everything was read. From here on out, the team needs to be more careful is all. Flying would take at least 15 minutes and that would mean 3 potions just for me to get over. We will just trudge from here. I think Pandora will likely burn her last spell of that level and port back out, but that is her call. Is it going to be worse to just trudge from where they are or is it something they wouldn't be able to tell?

Well, unless my math is off, which is possible, Fly grants movement of 60' a round, so double move is 120' per round. 5280'/120'= 44 rounds (5 minutes=50 rounds). It would be pretty close, with those 36 seconds giving us an additional 720 feet. So, if we hustle, we might be able to make it across. I have two potions, and can Alchemical Alocation for a third. Lore has one and Braxus has at least one. Do we have one more?
I just figure that it will not be a one time save against the STR draining thorns. Again, I could be totally wrong, but this is looking to be a tough scenario, and weakening characters is a great way to make it challenging at the end. The less time spent in the woods, the better.

Lore winces as she is poked by thorns, but manages to pull out her fly potions.... just in case. "We can fly ourselves out if needed with these..."
| GM_Starson |
In the interest of moving things forward, I'm going to assume that everyone drinks their potion and flies up. When the central team flies up, they'll see Braxus incoming. Remembering that you just shaved off 800 feet, I'm gonna rule that you guys make it across with no further incident. Since you're flying, you make great time, not even wasting another hour getting to the other side.
After flying across the rest of the briar, the team arrives at what was once the settlement of Kethalia, now a vinechoked ruin. Shattered white marble structures now stained with sap and filth still reflect what little light filters in. Rubble from collapsed levels obscures much of the ground, and, like ghouls from a grave, trees have tenaciously clawed their way through the debris, their roots expanding in all directions to buckle paving stones and crack mortar. However, despite this destruction, the stones have still held back the worst of the thorns and worse, meaning that the team doesn't have to step lively to continue forward. As the team continues on the direction led by the map, they arrive at a crumbling temple to Findeladlara, the elven goddess of art, architecture, and twilight.
Inside they find a bedroll sized for a Small creature, several unfinished potions, and a portable alchemist’s lab. There are also stale bread crumbs in a nearby gallery. A trail leads from these buildings to a partially collapsed meeting hall.

With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).
...Increase its speed by 30 feet.
...Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
...Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
...Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
...Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.

One second please.
Does this hit? And dailung has a few more parries (5)
Hm... so, this is gonna require a bit of rules weirdness, so bare with me.
This does hit, negating his first attack, so you deal the damage back and ignore that damage. He gets 8 tentacle attacks, and I would assume you would use your combat reflexes to attempt to parry and riposte 5 more. Since you have to declare it before attacks, we can assume you would have declared them in succession. However, you only have 4 Panache to do so with, so you can only block 4 attacks total (Baring any confirmed crits in this action), and you would only be able to respond to the first 3 attacks with damage. So, Dailung will still be grappled, but you can reduce the damage by 9 and you will be completely out of panache and all that means for swashbucklers. The creature is also not intimidated, so it still crits.
Dailung whirls and slashes, and arrows fly at the creature, filling it like a pincushion. But the creature doesn't let up, it's tentacles tightening on the poor girl before it, twisting and binding her arms tight and forcing her to the ground.
CMB: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30
As it holds down on Dailung, a filthy long tongue like appendage reaches out from the things horrid mouth, and forces it's way into her mouth, and she feels it pushing down her throat! A lump slides through the tendril in her mouth, and something is forced down her throat, choking her.
fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
She's unable to force... whatever it is that just crawled down her throat back up, and feels something terrible in the pit of her stomach. The beast holds her to the ground, it's tentacles winding it's way around her.
The Bababu laughs loudly and swings it's longspear at lore.

Dailung has a reroll on that Fort save.
Inspire courage is no longer active. Also Pandora cannot Arcane Strike this round
As soon as she can react, Pandora follows with a new volley of arrows at the strange beast "For all gods die!"
