Don't forget that Enlarge Person is a full round cast. This is the surprise round wherein you only get a standard action. You can begin to cast the spell but it will still require your standard action next round to complete. Your size will not increase until you have used the next round's standard action.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Grinning devilishly as the stinky little greenskins file past under him, Abitan's little shark eyes glint as he spots the Spider and goblin leader scuttle into view.

Springing off the earthbank the butcher seeks to land on the spider behind the goblin leader (and bury his blade into the head gobber in the process);

Pointing to where the trees end at the edge of the clearing, Hakon says, 'Psst! They're over there coming from the treeline, not from out of the cave.'

Teaches me for watching the ice-hockey and trying to post... memo to self read things properly!

Okay Retconning actions: Abi's initiative stands, scrap everything else!

Abitan will attempt to melt back into the treeline and circle round behind the goblins:

Stealth:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

With a twang Hangman lets loose his arrow at the giant spider mount, a difficult shot as the spider is at the rear of the goblin group, and the arrow bites deep into the body of the spider, spilling ichor onto the fire scarred ground of the clearing and causing the great insect to emit a disturbing squeal of pain. The little murderer Abitan grins in delight to himself at the thought of the carnage to come, but is about 6 feet up and 50 feet away from the closest goblin. Like a half sized shadow the halfling ghosts towards the treeline, avoiding the notice of the goblins and melding into the tree cast shadows.

With a growl Krathok hurls a javelin at the closest goblin but it misses wide, coming nowhere near his intended target, before he readies his boar spear. Hakons bullet hits the goblin rider but does nothing more than add a small dent to the goblins scale armour.

The sharpened bolt that Talbot sends towards the same goblin that Krathok hurled his javelin at misses the goblin, burying itself in the dirt at its feet. Having started his spell casting Bear continues the incantation. Scanning the surprised goblins Declan sees that none of them have any of the markings of a magic user. All of them are dressed in armour and wield spears, including the spider mounted rider.

Red River Running laughs aloud at the thrill of battle coursing through him, a harsh discordant sound with little humour in it.

"Witness my deeds Gorum!" yells Red River skyward as he starts to stride towards the goblins.

The goblins have recovered from their shock and start to react to the sudden attack.

Goblin warriors initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Marking the String. Good work crimson Queens!

With none of the visible goblins looking like spellcasters, Declan spent a few seconds casting a protective spell on himself and then readies his crossbow for opportunistic targets. With no spellcaster, his immediate usefulness was reduced, though he kept a watch out for any goblins that strayed too close together. As he set the bolt into his crossbow and set it to his shoulder, he wondered whether or not his initial assessment of the time it would take to bring this group down.

Cast Mage Armor, AC is now 15, waiting for any goblins to group up so that he can cast Sleep

Small retcon, since my last post was too many actions for the suprise round. Please ignore the move action to reload my crossbow portion of my last post. Instead Talbot will reload this turn.

Yea Get Some, Get Some... Talbot exclaims as his tiny hands quickly reload his crossbow.

Talbot reloads his crossbow and fires at the nearest approaching goblin.

The Hangmans second shot of the battle misses the giant spider completely, it's flight taking it past the spider and into the woods behind it. Flitting from shadow to shadow Abitan works his way into a position to assault the goblins. He is now positioned thirty feet to the right of the battle line the goblin warriors are forming in response to the Crimson Kings attack. None of the goblins pay him any attention at all.

With a grunt of effort the goblin boss flings a javelin at the charging Krathok.
Attack=1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Damage=1d6 ⇒ 3

The half-orc rangers charge at the still forming goblin battle line misses his intended target, the point of Krathoks boar spear missing the agile goblin completely.

The giant spider obeys its rider and simply move back slightly, giving it a clear run back to the tree line if things go badly for the goblins.

In a not particularly well co-ordinated effort the goblin warriors form a very loose battle line made up of two ranks of four goblins. The goblin targetted by Krathok lunges at the ranger with its spear, a mixture of fear and anger on its little goblin face.
Attack=1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Damage=1d8 ⇒ 2

The other goblins are still to busy trying to sort themselves out to attack the half-orc.

With a sickening crack Hakons sling bullet connects with the goblin boss's forehead, snapping it back with force and causing the goblins body to tumble backwards off the spider. Talbots bolt misses the goblin he was aiming at, flying off into the trees.

Finishing his incantation Bear grows in size. The giant shaman then shambles towards the goblin battle line. With the mystical armour of his spell protecting him Declan examines the goblins and realises that they are bunched up and his sleep spell would have a good chance of affecting them all.

Corporal Red River Running keeps walking towards the goblin battle line at a steady pace. He is singing a song in his native tongue, some tribal dialect from Sarkosia, as he walks punctuating the verse by thrusting his weapon into the air.

OOC:

Get yourself together private! C'mon now third times a charm! Cursing himself for the previous two misses, Talbot reloads his crossbow with lightning speed and lifts it into his sightline. He immediately targets an opponent not currently engaged in close combat with an ally, the last thing we need are injuries from friendly fire.

Talbot will reload and fire his weapon, at the nearest goblin not in melee with a Crimson King.

Move Action: Reload light crossbow with sharpened bolt

Standard Action: Attack Roll (light crossbow) - 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 (+1 within 30')

Damage: Sharpened bolt - 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 (+1 within 30')

9 Sharpened bolts remaining

'Well, not like it is going to get any better than that', Declan thought with a mental shrug, dropping the crossbow to hang from its shoulder strap and beginning the gestures and words for the magic that would put some of them to sleep. It was imperative that he do it now, rather than when the goblins are engaged, since he would rather not have to answer for rendering some of his squadmates unconscious.

"Clear!", he yelled, to give the rest of the Crimson Kings warning that something was starting, and centered the spell in the middle of the formation. If it worked, it would leave those on the ends exposed. Well, if it worked perfectly. Still, it ought to break the line enough to make things a bit easier.

With his mental image of a pillow exploding in the middle of the formation (don't ask, it was one of the more inane things that he would never admit to), he completed the spell and anticipated the results with an analytical eye.

Casting Sleep into the middle of the goblin formation, DC14 Will negates

Drawing his falchion Hangman charges towards the giant spider but finds that the goblin battle line is in his way and so decides to carve his way through them. His blow smashes through the goblins spear, armour and flesh spilling its life blood onto the clearings floor. With the goblins mostly focused on the threats coming towards the front of their line, none see Abitan ghosting towards their flanks.

Again Krathok thrusts at his goblin opponent and again he misses, his boar spear failing to find goblin flesh.

The giant spider makes a weird noise that rises and falls before it skuttles towards Corporal Red River Running. With a lunge the creature attempts to take a bite out of the singing Corporal.
Attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 for 1d6 ⇒ 1

Seeing the way in which Malnivar has brutally killed one of their compatriots the goblins consider him the greater threat and three of them thrust at him with their spears.

Attack against Krathok:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 for 1d6 ⇒ 2
Attack against Krathok:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 for 1d6 ⇒ 1

The remaining two goblins seem to be more interested in the treeline behind them than move forward to attack.

Seeing that the giant spider is now a lot closer Hakon runs towards it, giggling as he does so. The giant spider sense the halfling and takes a bite at him with it's poisonous fangs when he gets close, Attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 for 1d6 ⇒ 6 before Hakon grabs hold of the reins and attempts to mount the scuttling beast. He can't seem to find the best place to jump on and so cannot mount but does reatin hold of the reins.

Talbot's bolt misses the goblin he's targetted. With a thunderous bellow Bear charges the giant spider and brings his enlarged shillelagh down atop of the creatures head, killing it and splattering Hakon, Corporal Red River Running and himself in spider ichor.

Then Declans sleep spell hits the goblins, targetted on the two goblins holding back it causes them to slump into slumber while two of the goblins facing Hangman and Krathok also slump into slumber.

Corporal Red River Running looks at the ichor splattered across his body and then looks to Bear.

"Now that is how you squash a bug!"

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Screaming epithets too vile to translate in Orcish, Krathok stabs out with his boar spear towards a goblin still standing.

2H Boar Spear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 for 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

A smile creases his face as his spear finally tastes goblinflesh.

'That concludes this fight', thought Declan. There was little chance of the goblins waking, and even if they did, they would not get far. He looked over the engagement withthe same critical eye that assessed the execution of his spell, then looked around the clearing for any details that he might have missed. The goblins were dead. He was curious about how they had managed to tame a spider though.

His more pressing concern was what had happened to the rest of his bolts. Despite having thought that he purchased a case before he left Druma. Perhaps he had lost them inadvertently?

Seeing the others dispatch the goblins, Abitan's shoulders slump in frustration as he emerges from the shadows...

He wanders over, fingers flexing, black eyes darting...

Then seeing Hakon, Corp Running and Bear covered in sticky spider ichor his mouth creeps up into a crooked smile.

As he steps over the first of the sleeping goblins that held back Abi stoops and delivers a coup-de-grace with his cleaver Chopper:

Hand Axe Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Critical Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Critical Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Sneak Attack Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Total Damage: 15. I know coup-de-grace is a full round action but figured we'd be taking our time...

Hangman snarls and swings at the goblin attacking to him.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Declan only dropped 2 with sleep. There were 8. Krathok killed one but Hangman probably missed his, I believe there is 4 or 5 left.

My interpretation of what DM Pentor updated:
8 gobbos to start: 1 killed by Hangman, 3 attacked Hangman, 2 attacked Krathok, 2 hung back by the treeline = leaving 7
4 were dropped by the sleep: 2 by treeline, and 2 who were attacking Hangman / Krathok = leaving 3

Cool-cool. guys what's the state of play regards flanking and Stealth - I mean is Abitan wasting his time sneaking up on them, or if it means gaining his Sneak Attack he'll Stealth then attack... Know I could just move into a flanking position as well. If do-able I'll retcon the above action and get hands on with a live target...

Okay retconning things a little for Abitan...

Abitan hustles towards the remaining goblins in a flanking maneuver;

Will attempt to flank attack one of the goblins in combat with either Krathok or Hangman (whichever is nearer) - moves 40 ft with hustle.

Wearing a crooked grin the little butcher hacks at a still standing goblin with his shortsword/uber carving knife:

Shortsword Flanking Attack:1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 = 26

Carver Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

Shortsword Critical Threat:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Carver Critical Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

Total Damage: 17, methinks only 2 left now ;)

Hakon, covered in spider ichor, slowly blinks. Looking at the blue blood, he giggles maniacally before haring off towards one of the unconscious goblins. Leaking blood from his wound Hangman swings his blade at one of the standing goblins but the blade fails to find its target. Having hustled into a flanking position Abitan's sudden attack is devastating on the unaware goblin facing Malnivar. His blades plunge into the centre of the goblins back and meet in the heart if the goblinoid, spraying the grinning halfling in arterial blood.

With a grunt of effort Krathok thrusts his boar spear through his still standing goblin opponents body. Its point bursts from the back of the goblin and the little humanoid slumps forward in death on the spear that impales it.

The only standing goblin, which stands facing Malnivar, throws down it's spear with a scream of terror and attempts to flee for the treeline provoking attacks from Hangman and Abitan at it's exposed back.

Hakons blow to the skull of one of the slumbering goblins caves it in sending it into eternal slumber. From his prone position Talbot lets fly his bolt at the fleeing goblin, which sinks deep into the back of the gobbo causing it to arc its body in pain.

It is then that Bears enraged charge intersects the fleeing goblin, the druids shillelagh coming down on the goblins shoulder crushing the shoulder and chest bones of the little humanoid. It dies where it stands with blood pouring from its mouth.

The only people still standing are the members of the Crimson Kings, while three goblins still lie slumbering under the effects of Declans spell. With a disappointed look on his face Corporal Red River Running walks over to one of the slumbering goblins and hacks off it's head.

"Right let's kill the rest of these gobbos and then we get down to looting!" says the Corporal loud enough for all of the squad to hear.

OOC:
Ok only two more goblins lie slumbering everything else is dead. What are you folks doing now?

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok lays the goblin down on the ground and kicks it off the end of his spear. After waiting a few moments to make sure someone is taking care of the remaining sleeping foes, he stalks off to the cave entrance.

Dropping on his haunches, Krathok sniffs the ground trying to figure out if any more goblins await inside.

Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

His intent is to head into the cave and take a wee look around.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Scenting the air around the cave entrance, while ignoring the smell of the two dead goblin bodies lying inside, Krathok picks up many different goblin scents. Over a dozen different goblins have passed through the entrance area in the last day or so.

Pressing further into the cave the half-orc finds that it continues onwards, angling slightly deeper into the earth, before there is a sharp bend in the tunnel. Scenting carefully as he moves forward, Krathok reaches the bend and peers cautiously around the corner.

The tunnel continues further onward for about twenty feet before ending in set of stairs leading deeper into the earth. There is no visible light sources in the tunnel leaving it dark and lightless.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Emerging back into the open air, Krathok reports back to squad.

"Boots are South, more goblin in cave."

Breathing hard, Hangman nods at Abitan and grunts.
He steps over to a sleeping Gobo and deliveres a coup de grace with his Cestus wrapped fist.

Power attack damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Critical Damage 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Malnivars powerful driven blow crushes the throat of his chosen target, leaving a solitary goblin slumbering away. Corporal Red River Running grins in appreciation at the Hangmans blow, before turning to Krathok and nodding his understanding.

"Track the boots Krathok, the gobbos can wait till after we finish the mission," replies the Corporal before he returns to looting the bodies of the goblins.

Hangman shakes his hand after killing the goblin and gives Corporal Red River Running a lopsided grin. He pulls his bow placing and arrow to the string and moves over to assist Krathok.

Survival (Tracking): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 = +2 to Krathok's tracking
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
