With Kuuma looking for better routes you find the entrance at the same moment the moon appears on the horizont.
The dense forest opens to a wide clearing at the base of a sheer cliff. Thick vines cover the surface of the cliff stretching 30 feet overhead. Here! The cave entrance is behind those vines, Janira says with a broad smile as she walks to the cliff’s face. Then, she pulls back several layers of vegetation to reveal a narrow crack in the cliff’s surface. This is where I saw the gillmen enter.
As she motions toward the aperture, the surrounding woods come alive with the sound of small animals fleeing some unseen danger and a large creature crashing through the undergrowth. The halfling worriedly remarks, Quick, take cover before whatever it is spots us! As if she’d summoned the creature with her words, a massive horned monstrosity emerges from the trees. Standing eight feet tall on a pair of cloven hooves and wielding a tremendous axe, the bull-headed creature roars with unbridled anger when it spots the group.
Wisely assessing that a minotaur is beyond yours capabilities, Janira screams, A minotaur! There’s little chance we can stand against it. Take this bag, she continues, pulling off her backpack, and head deeper into the caves. Finish your mission. I’ll lead it away from the caves, lose it in the forest, and join you as soon as I can. Now go! GO! She heaves her backpack into the cave, casts a spell, and darts off toward the minotaur before turning to lure it away.
New map. If you want to fight, you can put yourself in the map near the cave entrance. If you want to go inside the cave just say it.
Obviously torn about the situation, but trusting that Janira knows what she is doing and will be safer not worrying about the group, Senketsu leads Yurei through the gap in the vines with a nod towards Pepper as they go through. Yurei growls at entering such a small spacebut gently Senketsu dismounts and leads the Albino wolf into the crack.
"Let's go Kira, this fight might be too much for us," with a nod toward the rest of the group, most of which is already in the cave "Thanks for coverin' us Janira"
Kira pouts off looking at the minotaur and Janira "yeah. . .it'd probably just kill us anyways" and with that she'll start sniffling and crying but walking toward the cave, none the less.
At the bovine beast roars through the trees, a grin erupts on Kyllian's face as he begins to call fire to his hands. But the smile evaporates as he sees the rest of his testees pull back towards the cave entrance as Janira continues on. With a growl, he lets the energy disperse and follows them.
"So, seven on one and we leave our guide outgunned?" He hisses as the group gathers within the cave mouth. "I can only imagine why outsiders find it so difficult to take the Society seriously as a useful force."

Explore, Report, Cooperate. If we follow Janira's orders, we're doing all three. If we disobey orders we might fail our Confirmation, and get in Janira's way. Seems like she knows what she's doing, right?
Senketsu nods at Nerfwin and Pepper, "Yes, our guide is brave, i think we just get in the way. Hope to see her later. Now, our task is to map these caves and explore Gillmen yes?". The Wayang then begins leading his wolf companion deeper into the cave.
The group follows Janira´s orders, even if not all think it’s the right decission.
Janira´s backpack, tell me who pick it:
potion of barkskin, potions of cure light wounds (2), potion of feather step, potion of vanish, wand of burning hands (CL 3rd, 4 charges), wand of cure light wounds (CL 3rd, 8 charges), acid, alchemist’s fire (2), holy water, smokestick, tanglefoot bags (2), thunderstone.
DC 15 Survival:
You find several footprints in the soil left by a web-toed humanoid who travelled this way only hours before.
As you go deeper into the cave you can see caves’ walls are patterned with blue-green luminescent fungi that provide dim light. Also, there are petroglyphs depicting marine mammals, more frequent as you walk, which appears to glow slightly brighter than its surrondings due to the fungi accumilated in them.
If someone want to bring better light, let me know
The narrow tunnel twists and turns for several hundred feet before slowly opening to a wider passage. A large hole spans the cave’s width and stretches ten feet down the path. At the bottom of the pit lies a small bundle of cloth.

Bypassing the hole
The tunnel here is 10 feet wide and 10 feet tall with a ceiling mostly devoid of stalactites.
DC 10 K. dungeoneering or Survival:
This is not a natural hole, but one digged in the cave´s ground
DC 15 K. dungeoneering or Survival:
seeing how much fungi is in the hole walls, you can assure it has been digged at least one year ago.
To bypass the hole you can jump, with a DC 12 check. You can try to climb its walls to go down and up with a DC 15 check, or suggest your own method to cross it

The small halfling gracefully hops across the hole.
Zyx quickly enters the cave knowing she is no match for a minotaur and stays near the entrance until the others enter since it is rather dark inside. "It seems Janira left us her pack. Lemme go see what is inside and see if there is anything we can use to light our way." and Zyx recovers the pack.
"So who is going first and who is gonna carry this around? Too heavy for lil ole me."
Senketsu can see perfectly well in the dark and seems unfazed by cave's dull glow. Taking the proffered back pack from Zyx, Senketsu politely gives a smile, slightly odd coming from a gray skinned gnomish creature, but meant well. "I can carry, I strong." Senketsu then places the bag down on the floor and begins to sift through it, offering potions, scrolls and wands to those who could use them the best. They keep one of the potions of cure light wounds.
Feel free to take what you want from the pack.
"Could someone use scroll of Mage Armour?" Senketsu asks the group, "For Yurei, unless someone else need it?"[b]
Once people are ready to cross the pit, Senketsu will point out the bundle of cloth at the bottom. [b]"Can any climb down and grab cloth?".

"I can use that scroll on your wolf," Kuuma will walk over to Senketsu and take the scroll, preparing it for casting, "Do you want it cast now, it'll last about an hour?"
Here. Kyllian shakes his arm and a flame appears crackling in the air just above his palm. He calls out to Pepper across the pit, the ball of fire continuing to hover above him. Just thank me by giving a warning before shooting off that thing again. I'd rather make it out of here both alive and still able to hear.
Kyllian's basic pyrokinesis will work just like light, only it actually produces heat if that matters
With the cave better illuminated, the man approaches the edge and peers down at what Senketsu is pointing at. Huh. Well, if anyone's got any rope, that'd probably do the trick.
"I don't mind givin' that wand of burnin' love a try." Pepper points to the wand of burning hands. "Might be comin' in handy."She is trained in UMD, but only at +5.
Nerfwin looks apprehensively at the gunslinger. Um, you have great skill with that Alkenstar weapon, but are you skilled in the arcane arts? Magic is not to be wielded recklessly...
Is it ok if I take the wand? I can use it with no UMD roll needed, and my only other weapon is a crossbow. :-)
Senketsu gives Kuuma a thankful smile, "Thankyou friend, we shall cast later then? In case it takes time getting over pit?" The Wayang also makes sure to keep the potion of feather step seperate from the backpack. Once everyone is ready to move on and the gear has been distributed, Senketsu shoulders the pack and re mounts Yurei.
"Senketsu has rope, when over I climb down?"
Giving a command to his wolf companion and stroking its fur, Yurei spurs across the cave floor before leaping over the pit.
Yurei Acrobatics, take 10:10 + 6 = 16
Once over Senketsu takes out his length of knotted rope before holding it out.
"Can any brace for Senketsu before climb? Or Senketsu brace for them?"
Kyllian calls out over the pit. "Why not have...hold on"
Realizing he doesn't have to yell, the man hops over himself, then continues speaking to Senketsu in much quiter terms on the other side.
Kyllian Acrobatics take 10:10 + 6 = 16
"Can't your friend here," he nods to the wolf, "anchor it? I'd try myself, but physical labor is something a man of my talents is not quite built for." Kyllian shrugs, his shirt sliding slightly down his arms to reveal underdeveloped muscles.
Senketsu gives Kylian an appraising glance before the Wayang nods their head, another glance to the rest of the party leading Senketsu to believe that Yurei is the best course of action. Taking the rope and hopping of their Companion, Senketsu takes great care in tying the rope around Yurei's shoulders and underneath.
"This not take long, however breastplate is pain"
With that, Senketsu takes off their armour and bids Yurei to stand in place at the top of the pit. Slowly he climbs down the knotted rope.
Climb:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Getting down safely, and picking up the cloth bundle, Senketsu makes to climb back up.
Climb:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
With their climb complete, Senketsu sets to buckling his armour back into place, leaving others to inspect the prize.
Everybody but Sneksu jump to the other side easily. The wayang, for his part, decide to take off his/her armour revealing clothes enough to hide her/his gender whatever it is and climbs down to pick the cloth. Once up again he let´s others to inspect the cloth as Pepper helps him/her back into their armor.
The cloth it´s a turquoise cape decorated with waves, it´s a little wore away but perfectly usable

Once the group finish to inspect the cape they continue through the tunnels, walking deeper beneath the Kortos Mounts until they eventually open into a large cavern. What must have once been beautifully carved reliefs and inscriptions have since weathered heavily, their features dulled and softened to the point that it is hard to distinguish what each once depicted. A wide tunnel exits the cavern on its far side, and blue-burning torches line the passageway’s walls.

Hmmm Kyllian says as he moves towards the walls to get a look at the faint carvings. The years could have been kinder to this place. I wonder who left these here?. It can't have been the gillmen; if they've been here as long as that Janira couldn't possibly have been the first to notice.
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Those however, he nods towards the blue torchlight emmanating from the tunnel ahead. Those I could imagine might belong to the halfling's little friend.
Kyllian sidles over to Senketsu. May I fish around in that pack for a second, 'in case of emergency' and all that?
If no one objects, Kyllian will grab the other potion of cure light wounds, the smokestick, and the potion of vanish
Senketsu thanks Pepper and Zyx for their help profusely, quickly back into their armour. At Kyllians request, Senketsu takes the pack off their back and opens it for Kyllian to get easy access to its contents. The Wayang smiles and nods beforenpolitely speaking.
"Yes friend, take what you need"
Staring at the carvings with a look of amazement and wonder, Senketsu tries their best to examine them, wishing they had listened to master Shane's lectures more intently, instead relying on their natural intelligence and eye for detail.
Appraise:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
"This one is sorry, I cannot decipher meaning, shall take rubbings anyway."
They take charcoal and paper from their pack and try to take rubbings of the carvings, hoping someone else may know more at the society.

It's my opinion that Fort and Will saves are the most important to make. I think that Pepper and Senketsu have the lowest Will saves, at +0 and –1, respectively. It seems self-serving to suggest Pepper should take it, so I am going to recommend that Senketsu wear it.
Kuuma and Kira will walk over to examine the reliefs and ponder what they could reveal about the residents of this cave and their current investigation.

"I'm not really seeing anything too special about them, sorry,"
Everybody but Zyxtyvia fails to realize what are the carved reliefs. She can identify the four better
inscriptions, which results to be from the History and Future of Humanity , the principle holy text of Aroden. The images depicted are:
-The Craftsman is depicted creating shoes, pots, jewelry, and other moveable goods, referencing Aroden’s delight at seeing his people express their ingenuity in creating new products from raw materials.
-The Shepherd is depicted herding animals out of a crowded city to the pastures beyond, just as Aroden blessed leaders with the foresight to direct people to the tasks and places that best suit them.
-The Soldier is depicted bearing a lantern through the streets of a city, following the dead god’s prophecy that the vigilant shall carry light to the darkest corners of the world to banish the shadows.
-The Tailor is depicted sewing together a long cloth of featuring many patterns that wraps around a city like a moat, referencing Aroden’s proclamation that when the fate of all peoples is woven together, it shall be humanity’s greatest strength.
But the images of the holy text depicted are slightly different than those that appear in the known version of the History and Future of Humanity, suggesting that these might represent an earlier version of the work.
Having done as much as you can in this cave, you follow the only tunnel besides the one you entered by. The soft light of the surrounding fungus mixes with the flickering glow of the nearby torches to reveal a grand chamber. A large pool of water along the chamber’s southern edge reflects the blue and green radiance to illuminate the massive stalactites that cling to the ceiling overhead. Two other tunnels branch off from this area, leading to the east and west.
Rising up from the pool is a column of rock with steeply sloped sides and a flat top, as if someone had sawn off the top of a massive stalagmite. A miniature city carved from this same stone occupies nearly the entire surface. Tiny trinkets such as ancient coins, polished semiprecious stones, and ornately braided loops of string are scattered throughout the diorama, and pale cave frogs clamber atop it. The smooth cavern floor is covered in gravel and pebbles along the edge of the pool, and several foot-long centipedes prowl among the gravel in their search for prey.
And, inside the large pool, there´s a man standing in a praying position. It looks he doesn´t know about you, as you´re at his back and he continues in the same position after your entrance in the chamber.
I´ll don´t put the map unless you decide to fight him or someone asks for it
"Well done Zyx-san, I am sure this will come in handy for our report." Senketsu says with a smile before urging Yurei on past the glowing blue torches. Seeing the man praying by the water, Senketsu takes a moment to admire the miniature city carved into the stonework. Stepping off their mount and moving slowly over to the edge of the water, the Wayang speaks politely to the man.
"Hello, this one is called Senketsu, do you know what this city represents?"

Pepper is very trusting, and she is happy to assume that everyone she meets wants to be her friend. I know that isn't the case, so if you want me to play her more cautiously, I will do so.
"Subtle Pepper, very subtle." Kyllain mutters to himself. He sidles over closer to Zyx. "I'm glad I'm at least not the only one with more caution than a thimble."
Hearing the conversations of his allies, Senketsu looks at them sheepishly and takes a step or so back, but does not mount Yurei. The Wayang turns to Zyx and Kyllian, an embarrassed look on their face and whispers.
"This one is sorry, one man in cave did not look like foe, how do you tell?"

Ok, I have 10 peolpe wanting to play, so we can make 2 tables of 5. I´ll let this thread so people can discuss how to create the groups so they are more o less balanced and we will start after that.
We have:
Senketsu - Cavalier
Illuthion Cinderrain - Occultist
Qwerty - sorc/huntr/rogue
Kirian or Sumac - Paladin or Oracle
Mr. Copperpot - Sorcerer
Kuuma and Kira - Spiritualist/Phantom
Richelle - Kineticist
Pepper Berrythwaite - Gunslinger
Stonegrin Strongale - Bloodrager (might rebuild)
Kyllian - Kineticist
Sethran here, I've built Senketsu and put him online and have an alias for the animal companion. He is a Wayang Cavalier, Gendarme with lance and shield, happy to play a tank like role.
I can happily post a few times a day barring the odd Saturday and happy to start whenever ^^.
Male human (Kellid) medium 1 hp 11 AC 19, T 13, FF 16 Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +2; +1 trait bonus against enchantment spells and spell-like abilities MOFF map
As Nerisiel is a core character and I don't see enough core my gnome paladin of Abadar would like to start his adventuring career will update profile to match Gilbert Swiftscale later today
qwerty1971 here
I will defer to the GM to assign the best groups for balance. for his ease I will play my lvl 1 rogue since there is no other skill monkey and some melee, arcane, divine available. I can post as often as needed since this is my escape during my time in Kabul.
Kuuma and Kira are fully built and ready to play in an online game. If we get to ask for where we'd like to be placed I only ask to be in a group with The Fox(Pepper Berrythaite), if possible. Otherwise I get along great and am excited and hopeful!
As far as general purpose goes, Kuuma and Kira we are both front line fighters that also focus on debuffing the enemy to a certain extent. However this will be my first time actually playing them so theory vs practice might change how they play.
Hi, just checking in. I just need to finish gear purchases and I'm good to go, but I'm waiting on a rules question (can arcanists copy spells from scrolls instead of other wizard/arcanist's spellbooks). I am going to buy a wand of infernal healing so I can heal in that way.
GROUP 2
Kirian or Sumac - Paladin or Oracle
Mr. Copperpot - Sorcerer
Kuuma and Kira - Spiritualist/Phantom
Richelle - Kineticist
Stonegrin Strongale - Bloodrager (might rebuild)

There is both my self (a ranged paladin) and Nerfwin (an arcanist) who have been added since the initial ten so we are looking at two parties of six now
If Nerfwin is offering infernal healing I don't want to be in their party ;-p if 1 has healing covered put Nerfwin in 1 and me in group 2 .
Edited to swap as per Kuuma s post

If I'm reading the posts above right both Kumac and myself can activate a clw wand and Kumac might even bring their own. As brand newbie Gilbert can't sadly
Mr copperpot and Stonegrim could use an infernal healing wand ( unless Stonegrim opts for a non arcane class I/o bloodrager
@eleazzar, not necesarily but, if your previous GM can say you how many PP and gold you earnt you can use it. It´s not a problem if the chronicle sheet last a little more

I have problems posting in the discussion thread. Can someone dot or writen anything? The introduction should we as follows:
The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it ll began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.”
The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign f a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table. “Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!” With that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls, nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder Society was born.
“But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,” he says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here will be going with you on your Confirmation. She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore during her own Confirmation.”
Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, “Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave. I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.”
Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while humming to himself.
Feel free to introduce yourselves and ask whatever you want to Janira
