Honestly, I keep looking at Pathfinder Society so I can play a bit more, and with new people. Then I make the mistake of reading some of the threads on here about them and get too scared...
Plus there just doesn't seem to be as much of presence in the UK.
If anyone is thinking of running a pbp pirate adventure anytime within the future, I would love to play as I have a pirate character that is both awesome and hilarious
I am pondering running a homebrew campaign I've had lurking in my skull now that the Reign of Winter game I was in seems to have gone belly up (poor Azana) but that's more of a cut down Kingmaker, building up a single city back to glory and trying to hold it against slavers, pirates, mercenaries and other assorted nefarious people. Although it does take place on a coast and will probably involve ship travel now and then...
I'm one of those strange people who loves to make things work, so I'm happy with odd races, third party stuff (after I've read it) and 3.5 stuff (after I've read it twice). So yeah, probably.
That sounds interesting. I once played a game where my guy was given an island off a city to do with what he wanted. Only managed to build a dock and small house before the game died. I had so many unfinished plans. :'(
If people like the sound of it I'll start writing stuff up and make some maps (it's easier for me to keep track of crap, and for you guys too I find, if you can see you've just built a new mega brothel/casino/drug den next to the church). It'll probably take me a few days, thanks to my semi-regular insomnia kicking my ass, but I'll make sure to give you folk first run at it.
Out of curiosity, what character creation system do you guys prefer? I've sorta fallen in love with the Focus and Foible system from Way of the Wicked, where you have one stat at 18, one at at 8 and roll 1d10+7 for the other 4 numbers. It means you always get one stat at 18 (or, let's be fair, 20 - who isn't going to stick there racial bonus on top?) and usually a bunch of semi-decent middle scores, and one naff one.
Focus and Fobile is good, but like all rolled stats, can turn into really good or really bad. With point buy, its all guaranteed
I do like this idea and would like to stat up a character for it. May go crazy gobbo cook or might even do something like a dwarven stonecutter, or a half orc lumberjack
To be honest depends on the rolls as I tend to optimize to some degree. Bad rolls I would opt for point buy while good rolls I would take and run with. What can I say, I do not trust the dice at all. ;)
I would be interested in a more detailed explanation about the city building aspect and such and our roles in it. Would we even know each other or just be pillars of the community that will become aware of each other as we rise thru the ranks so to speak.
I would be interested in playing it. Even if Tierce is playing a goblin. :P
I much prefer straight out point buys. That way it is more even and fair for everyone because someone always makes awesome rolls with multiple 18s and some poor guy couldn't even roll above a 14.
Depending on how open it is Lex can save money to buy her own ship. Granted getting and keeping a crew of pirates wont be easy, then their is the whole "law" of said city you have to consider. LG city is really bad for a would be pirate. ;P
Yeah I am thinking a small sized smooth talking tattooed sorcerer, no worries Tierce he is nothing like Soris. Not the one from your game or the one from mine. >;)
Well maybe the one from mine if the fighting gets dirty. In war their are no rules. x3
But I am going more for a businessman with a bit of a scoundrel topped with a dash of gold heartedness type. I think it would make a good character. ;P
Well finish doing the crunch for my guy and sent to Jon. I think he will be very interesting if approved. Wonder if he would get along with a certain tiefling wizardress. Doubtful. x3

Well, as you may remember my comment about giving PbP GMing a try, I've been doing some serious work on it, again. I just wanted to bounce this off of you guys and see what you think. Read if you want.
The Old Gods:
After the Battle of the Catagara Plains, strange events began to happen to the Fabric of Magic. A few months after the battle, Tali, the Goddess of Magic fell silent. Her priests exhausted all attempts to communicate with her. Three months of silence past when the first star fell, which signaled the beginning of The Withering, as the priests of Caldrana were informed and passed it on to the masses. The next year saw the fall of six more stars and the gods fell silent and magic failed to function. However, even though the Gods disappeared, their temples remained, and their followers stayed faithful. Three hundred years passed, then out of nowhere, the first signs of The Rising began to show. Magic was returning to the world, but the Gods were still silent. Over the next hundred years, the Fabric of Magic grew stronger and stronger. Now at full strength, all magic users have full access to the Fabric, be it naturally or through study, it is restricted to no one.
The first thought that comes to mind is, no healing. At least no high level healing, bards still got some. While druids would be a maybe depending on if nature magic being tied to gods or not.

The Fabric is at full strength. I was planning on the campaign being a decade or two after it is back at full strength. So full access would be granted.
