I'm trying to figure it out - apparently there's a way to use brackets so you can reuse an alias name that's been used. But the stuff in the brackets isn't supposed to show up. I need to figure it out before I do 10 posts.

I had a proper name planned out, of which Bo was part, then thought it would work to have her read Bo on part of her equipment or something, and decide that's her name. Maybe something that's partially erased/damaged, etc?
I was already planning on doing that anyway so if you want to put tell me the full name so I can name drop it in a plot relevant place later?
Ctarbo Lightstep is what I'd originally thought of. Or I'm happy to have anything else that has "Bo" be part of it.

I think I won't go with other animals at the moment, but I plan on having her collect animals as she goes. :) So for now, just cougar and hawk. But that toad looks very friendly....

I've never actually used an owlbear before.
And I've never fought one before.
Can I use wild empathy on it? Or is it classified as a monster instead of an animal? She's going to try anyway, but for future reference it would be good to know.
Using Knowledge checks is the way to figure that out in character.

No complaints at all, this is fun! That sand dude was super creepy. I'm enjoying having no memory - it's cool to explore with no context. Eager to see what happens next. :) How about for you?
I always worry. Always takes time for a game to 'click' for me, before I become comfortable with it.
And this looks potentially nasty for Bo...I've never killed a PC by accident before, but there is always a first time!

Why does Pearl draw an AoO? Can she not move around them, and move in to flank when she's in position? She should have enough move to get around them without being in a threatened square until she actually engages.
I'll move to F6 to cast the spell - hope it doesn't have a crazy amount of reach. The spell doesn't stay centered on me, right? I can move out of it?
Hmm, good point. I think I was thinking in typical dungeon fashion where there are walls. Obviously that is absurd. We are outside.
And yes, I read it that the fogbank stays static.

Thanks - you too! I have 2 small kids, so Christmas is fun and chaotic around here.
Just to be clear about this fortress - does it look like it's on a frozen lake? Or on the ground? Or impossible to tell? Is it cold enough for a lake to be frozen over and snowed upon?
Also, did this look like the same forest where she fell asleep? Were there still leaves on the trees, or were they bare? Trying to figure out if she's moved/transported somewhere else, was asleep a long time, or if it's just the weather that's weird.
I'm probably going to change shape to look around - been looking forward to doing that for the first time!

You are not frozen to the ground. Right now the water is just above your ankles, but rising fast.
I am glad you are enjoying it. Fear and uneasy are some of the hardest emotions to bring across in PBP.
I do want to be clear about something.
I don't often create problems with solutions in mind. There usually isn't a right' answer. I just create situations I think are likely based on previous actions and NPCs.
So don't think there is a 'right answer' in this things. Just use your skills, spells and common sense creatively and I'll handle the rest.

That makes sense, I just wanted to make sure that I (player) wasn't forgetting or missing something that Bo (character) had already noticed.
Considering I (the GM) forget stuff that the universe (the game) shouldn't forget, I think we are on even footing.
Ice thing make sense? The idea is to add a puzzle aspect to the combat.
