A wildly dressed halfling enters the briefing room late alongside a lightly armored lion. He waits in the shadows until after Amenopheus finished speaking ...

"Well met my friends. Name's Roscoe ... It seems that King George and I have been tapped to help with this assignment.
Any outfitting recommendations before we go? My last venture was a completely different climate, so any help would be appreciated."

Would Roscoe be able to enchant his masterwork, whipped, halfling sling staff to +1 (2,000 gp)?

You are in a trae city big enough to support it, so sure

"You are headed back into the desert, cool clothing is available in the souks on the streets, and camels with plentiful water are always a wise investment. Should you be magically inclined, there are scrolls for sale to aid you enduring the elements, perhaps good for the heat of the day? A compass may help."

Wow - that's some crazy stuff! Does this mean this scenario is that much more deadly? And yes, Henrick's urgrosh is cold iron. I was going to just get a new magic one instead of paying the upcharge, but then I read that I only have to pay the extra 2000gp once - not each time I add magic, right? So yes, it is an awfully expensive way to gain just +1 damage... but it is sort of his signature thing, so figure might as well suck it up.

Wow ... didn't expect that. Not sure I completely understand it all though. To clarify ... does Roscoe get the mythic template with 3 tiers and a choice of Path or is he restricted to what is on the handout? It seems like the later, but want to make sure.

Never mind ... I think I understand now. The Sage Blessed Template is what he gets and it is a simple version of Mythic. Roscoe will take Dodge and Warrior

@henrick - makes sense. I looked at your sheet to see if the Urgosh was CI after I thought about it...! You pay the additional 2k once. Yes its +1 to damage, but then again it also counts as magical - really handy when incorporeal show up. Yes this scenario is a bit funky, so you get to be Super Pathfinders for it - but you dont get a cape and underpants as part of the deal.

@Roscoe, yeah you get the express version 'Simple Mythic'.

@Agraic yeah, its a bit extensive.

I can only think this scenario would have been hard in the time compressed environment of a con, where they'd hand you your sheet and you only have a short time to process.

VC - Sydney, Australia

There being no further questions from the party, the meeting concludes.

"Once you are prepared to leave Eto, I shall teleport you and your beasts to the northern edge of the Pillars of the Sun."

Diplomacy (gather information) or Knowledge (local)

10+:

Witnesses report seeing a rather tipsy Nefti playing the flute in various taverns throughout Eto over the past several weeks. He hasn’t been seen for three days.

15+:

A man matching Kafar’s description recently visited a local herbalist and apothecary.

20+:

Several caravan guards in the city overheard Kafar and Nefti complaining to one another about the Aspis Consortium.

25+:

Nefti tried to sell information about the Aspis Consortium to a foreigner, but the deal fell through

30+:

The foreigner was actually a covert Pathfinder operative who suspects Kafar and Nefti may not only be aiming to go rogue, but are also looking for a new patron.

Knowledge (Geography)

10+:

The Pillars of the Sun are an isolated range of mountains named for their tall, wind-weathered spires.

[spoiler=15+]
The mountains begin 15 miles south of Eto, and an experienced rider might reach them in half a day. Because of its location and elevation, the region is extremely dry and hot during the day, with temperatures dropping drastically at night due to strong winds.

20+:

In past eras, attempts to settle in the region
were frustrated by the mountains’ harsh conditions
and aggressive fauna. To this day, many ruins stand as
reminders of these ill-fated enterprises.

25+:

The Pillars of the Sun have long been an isolated place, and interspecies competition has honed the abilities of its monstrous inhabitants. Even creatures that are typically harmless in other ecosystems can be deadly here, and some are said to have truly extraordinary power.

30+:

Many ancient structures within the Pillars of the
Sun take advantage of the terrain and are actually carved
inside the rock. Adventurers looking for ruins are more likely to find hidden trap doors and secret passages
than crumbled temples covered in sand. Some of these
subterranean vaults extend for miles beneath the surface,
and a clever explorer can use them to cross from one
valley to another to circumvent the most difficult of the
mountainous terrain.

All good to proceed?

The group arrives at the northern edge of the Pillars of the Sun and you are able to find the correct path...

Temperatures continue to rise all through the morning, and after four hours of travel, the group reaches a place where the winding path through the spires splits. Frustratingly, it appears Kafar and Nefti split up here and travel in separate directions.

Without knowing which of the two agents has the sage jewels or whether they too have been split up, Amenopheus decides that the best
choice is to split up. He assures you he will remain in contact.

The path leads you through a series of switchbacks that ascend the steep side of a gorge, and approximately one hour after Amenopheus’s departure, you reach an immense cliff where the tracks simply end.

Whoa! I'm using Legendary Spellcasting to cast Endure Elements. DM Shifty--it says in the d20PFSRD "Mythic Endure Elements" under the Endure Elements entry. Does that work for me since I'm Mythic? If it does my Endure Elements will work on up to 5 creatures and give other benefits. If so, I'll use it on myself, Lagertha, Rogelio, Henrick, and Kel (sorry Agraic, but since you already rolled I figured that was the most fair--but I do provide a bonus from my survival roll, and it looks like you made the fort saves anyway).

Just a reminder - characters are L3-7, and looks like you are all within the 3-5 range, so we are low tier

You decide to check out the trap door.

After descending down a roughly hewn tunnel, you reach a long underground gallery.

Enigmatic hieroglyphs cover just about every surface of this chamber excavated into the mountain. Bas-relief engravings stretch along the walls all the way from the lofty, tapered ceiling down to floor level, their eerie pictography suggesting an unnerving story. Toppled columns, crumbling shreds of cloth, and potsherds scattered throughout the chamber attest to the place’s abandonment and antiquity. Small holes in the vaulted ceiling let in thin beams of sunlight but do little to illuminate the chamber.

diceoff:

6d20 ⇒ (14, 16, 7, 18, 11, 13) = 79

You can hear two creatures trying to quietly shuffle into position...clearly staking an ambush.

Any writing in Ancient Osiriani?

Agraic will pull out his breastplate (having been carefully stowed away to not conduct the heat of the arid lands) and glance to the party for help putting it on, so it goes more quickly.

If someone helps, Agraic could have it on in 2 minutes/20 rounds. If it's slapped on hastily he can have it on in 30 seconds/5 rounds with help. While we've got a lot of folks, I'm not confident in his chances to fight without his armor given how luck falls?

Quite a bit! however your attention is mostly drawn to the feeling of imminent attack. You guys have the feeling that the coming attack is probably moments away, and the enemy is simply readying/positioning as a prelude

The Exchange

Dwarf Hunter (Divine Hunter) 4
stats:
HP: (35/35) AC 18 (FF 16, Touch 12) (+2 AC vs crit confirmation) FS +7, RS +7, WS +5 (+2 vs poison, +4 vs spells/SLA), Initiative: +2 Perception: +10/+12 (stonework) (Darkvision)

Magrim casts a spell, anticipating an attack.

Lead Blades

Sorry Agraic, looks like we won't have time to help you get in your armor.

DM Shifty--Rogelio is only level 1. Does he need to use a Level 4 pregen?

Agraic starts putting on his breastplate hastily. Better poorly affixed armor than no armor. Round One of Ten
