I think I just realized I made a mistake. Other than the like cash items these should be "worth" half their purchase price right? I calculated at list price?
I ask that because I assume to purchase things out of the pool we would need to pay what we are getting for them but otherwise would be taking like value in cash.
So it should be that we are only getting 4,000 for the +2 ring OR someone could snag it for that value of the loot right?
If that IS the case then treasure distro would look like this:
Amir: 12434 gp 87 sp 5 cp
Varkata: 12278 gp 87 sp 5 cp
Karethas: 6258 gp 87 sp 5 cp
Kzrira: 9259 gp 87 sp 5 cp
I won't lie, part of the reason I am asking is because I would need to borrow something like 3000 gp if the above were true (if anyone had it available) versus the something like 13,000 gp if we are doing all our math at purchase price if I wanted to snag that scimitar.
I dunno...I suddenly realize that WBL is odd and I might be confusing myself...

I'm not sure what you're asking? Selling goods other than gems and art net half price otherwise, everything is valued at full.

Right that is what I suddenly realized, wasthat my prices and dsitro were full price, not half. so the distro in my latest note above is true except
Krethas gets: 3258 87sp 5 cp and IOU from Amir for 3k
Amir gets: +2 Flaming burst scimitar

Right, well, assuming Varkata's suddenly handed a pile of coin as described, she'd be on the market for a new breastplate and shield.
Ideally, a +2 Mithral Breastplate (8,450) and a +2 heavy shield (4,170) - selling the normal shield and the +1 breastplate to make up the shortage. (regaining 760gp) -- all told, net expense of 11,860 -- leaving her up 418gp (and change).
Net result is a +3 boost to AC, and ups her footspeed to 50.
If the mithral breastplate, she'd be fine with +2 elven chain -- and if that doesn't work out, then she'd probably start shopping for a +2 breastplate and then a few pearls of power instead.
Varkata Steeleye
I would assume so -- especially since we can't stay at Jerikal's. ;)
Varkata Steeleye
Just a warning -- I'll be out of town for 9 days -- leaving Sunday the 14th, and back the 23rd (a Tuesday, I believe). I won't have internet access during that time (though, hopefully, I'll have a lot of sun and a nice beach).
Free free to bot Varkata, as needed. I'm imagining she'll just want to spend some time enjoying ale (and restocking her aleskins) before heading out. ;)

Not really sure what I need.
Looking at the following:
Upgrade my +1 Bow - Limning, Bane (Outsider Evil or Fire) or Frost (6000)
--> two increase damage, Limning is sort of cool in that it negates invisibility, which can always be useful if Kzrira can manage to hit the bad guy
Increase the Cloak of Resistance to +2 (3000)
If anyone has any other ideas, I am open to thoughts. Wouldn't mind something with fire resistance, but not sure what would be good.
Amir Awad Hajjir
I could just hand you the gem...
I am wondering if Kzrira should be in the market for magical mobility...slippers of spider climb, flying carpet (thats probably to exensive) but just being able to maintain archerly distances...
Kzrira Maiwith
Was looking at Celestial Armor or Celestial Plate, but they are a little costly. Her current armor is +3 Mithral Chainmail worth 14k. If she can upgrade, the Celestial Plate is 25k and Celestial Armor is 22.4k.
If Varkata took Kzrira's armor and shield, it would be the same AC as the breastplate +2 and shield +2, and Kzrira would only need about 2500 to get the Celestial Plate. The Celestial Plate would let her fly 1x/day. Not great, but decent and would increase her AC when using her bow.
Kzrira Maiwith
No problem. Kzrira's biggest problem is that her high dex does not work well with heavy armor. That is why the Celestial armor, or something similar, with high dex is nice.
Varkata Steeleye
Problem with putting a ranger in heavy armour is they lose their bonus combat feats...
The benefits of the ranger's chosen style feats apply only when he wears light, medium, or no armor.
So, of course, the side-step is to use mithral (which then counts as medium) -- Mithral Full Plate runs 10,150.
Varkata would happily take the +3 elven chain as a hand-me-down instead of buying her own +2 -- if I give Kzrira what I would have spent on the +2 breastplate (9,200) -- she can afford +2 or +3 -- or, maybe even +2 and something that lets her fly (cloak, boots, something.)
+3 Mithral Plate would have a max dex of 4 -- so It's AC 17 on its own.
Kzrira Maiwith
After some discussions with Karethas, Kzrira realizes that there are some items that might be useful, and that she should be able to use.
Change in purchases.
1) Wand of Fly (CL5) (partial, 25 charges) - 5,625
2) Amulet of Elemental Strife - 4000
Seems like 2 items that could be most useful. Let me know if these will work.

Kzrira only has 1 level of ranger, so no feats at this point anyway.

sure. no worries with those. the Amulet is pretty interesting- goofy name, but cool item.
Karethas ibn Faradin
That is nice! It should be pretty awesome for the next part. Any suggestion for spells that I have missed would be welcomed.
Speaking of which, Voodoo instead of Enervation I want try to get Ice Storm.
Kzrira Maiwith
Kzrira also needs to copy spells from Karethas' spellbook. Kzrira does not have a spellbook, but can get spells like witches - consuming scrolls. Up to Voodoo on how to do that.
Varkata Steeleye
That does sound like a nifty item. And would totally be helpful against the Efreet, if nothing else.
Kzrira Maiwith
I just realized something. The amulet is only effective against outsider(elemental) types. Efreeti and Shaitan and similar outsiders are not of the elemental subtype. Thus, unless Voodoo allows it to work against the genies, it is likely mostly useless in this campaign.

still very useful against elementals, but I don't mind including genies in that group.
Alright, let me gather my thoughts for a little montage action.

Oh, I'd misread that -- I thought it was an elemental subtype, so that the fire/air/earth/water subtypes worked. That's much less snazzy.
Kzrira Maiwith
I think that really other than warning us when a genie is near, the amulet does not do that much against the genies because few, if any, have DR and most don't have regular elemental attacks. The biggest benefit is probably the Resist 5 if a relevant elemental is near, sort of like in the volcano in the last part of the campaign.
Anyway, I am going to take it because it is a cool item and thematically appropriate.
Amir Awad Hajjir
Ya know, in another life/campaign, these guys at the college are basically just turning Karethas into a super villain. I mean honestly. We are lucky he doesn't decide to dedicate his life to like burning that place down ro something, lol.
Fools! Misjudge my genius!?!? I will destroy you all!!!
Karethas ibn Faradin
I would focus on copying the spells to my spell book while in town and create the scrolls on the road. Copying the spell only takes an hour each, plus a spellcraft roll. DC 15+level +2 if Conjuration.
Black Tentacles 4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Dimensional Anchor 4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Dimension Door 4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Ice Storm 4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Wall of Ice 4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Arcane Eye 4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Greater Invisibility 3 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Fireball 3 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Detect Undead 1 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34(8 rank, +3 class skill, +5 Int)[/dice]
Couldn't fail the Dimension Door because it is Conjuration.

a reminder that our cleric is out until Tues. I don't really want to penalize Karethas, but I don't really feel the road is conducive to scroll scribing- maybe an L1-2 , but i believe L3 and higher requires 8 hours which you wont get while traveling.
It's four days journey to the Cursed Oasis. The Abadarians will provide mounts if needed once again.
Karethas ibn Faradin
If we travel for 4 days can I create a scroll each night? If so, 2 Detect Undead, 1 Spider Climb, & 1 Detect Thoughts.
Kzrira Maiwith
Remember, if you create level 1 scrolls, Kzrira can learn them, although the scroll gets destroyed in the process since Spooky is like a witch familiar. At least that is what I think. Up to Voodoo, perhaps Spooky can learn the spells while Kzrira is shooting at scorpions or something.
Kzrira Maiwith
Actually, Kzrira can also scribe scrolls, although her Spellcraft is pretty low, and the feat does not fit that well with her character.
Spooky will learn Endure Elements and Feather Fall, if he can.
Varkata Steeleye
Right. One cleric. Slightly suburnt. Off to check the gameplay thread.
Varkata Steeleye
Can we have bought/made Holy Water?
Also, trying to figure out the ideal spell loadout -- I'd made a list of anti-vamp spells, but it seems I accidentally wiped it when I gained a level -- so I'm quite willing to take suggestions.
Varkata Steeleye
More than a little. Not sure what the party's financial position is exactly.
Varkata Steeleye
I'll grab 5 myself.
And then transcribe my spells.
Varkata Steeleye
Right, so:

Level 1: (DC 15)Bless, Divine Favour (x2), Enlarge Person*, Protection from Evil, Shield of Faith.

Level 4: (DC 18) Death Ward, Movement, Spell Immunity*, Spiritual Ally.
