I assume you all know the posting conventions. As for exp I will assign it at the end of every session (which can last one or more scenes) following the rules from the DA Vampire manual.

You reached the feast a little late. The Ghouls at entrance of the main tower sent word of your arrival but it took them some time before they could allow you to enter the main hall. As things stand, one of the seneschal attendants allows you to enter court from a side passage. He tells you that your petition has been sent to the seneschal and he will consider when to introduce it to the Baron's attention.

That wasn't a double role the first 3 were for Perception and the other 2 were for politics. We were supposed to add them up right? I just split the Rolls. I'll make sure I combine the dice pool

OK, then, please pool the dice togheter as a posting convention. Unfortunately you got only a single success and it was cancelled by that 1, so you are pretty puzzled by the stubbornes shown by the Sheriff.

You may attempt a roll on a talent even without the talent itself (you just roll the relevant attribute)
You may attempt a roll even without a skill, but difficulty is +1.
You may NEVER attempt a roll involving a knowledge unless you have the relevant knowledge.

You probably already knew, this is just me helping in case it was not clear for everyone.

This is my first World of Darkness game, so I'm not very familiar with everything though I've done a fair bit of reading, so I appreciate all the information.

Can I use Presence while presenting my case or would that be very obvious before a group of cainites and consequently be considered rude or insulting?

No presence in Court especially when presenting a case to Prince/Baron. A breach of Etiquette for sure. DM Elan I assume you agree with that position?

Basically what Bertand said: you can do it but the problem is how many will notice and have the will power to resist and/or greater powers?

If you try to sway the Baron with presence and he resists... what kind of presence score might a Ventrue elder have? Is such a vampire willing to answer in kind?

As said above, you may attempt it. You may even suceed... but is the risk worth the potential consequences?

Any opinions on whether or not I was "over the top" with the gypsy terminology for vampires, embrace, ect?

I was trying to show that Edward knows, but is unaware of the proper lexicon. Thus his need to be educated in the ways.

Well it certainly seemed over the top, maybe next time don't do it in a situation where they are deciding about your execution... ;P

Ppl... I meant this diversion as a way for you to meet each other and present yourselves. If you prefer to roleplay this and getting to know the "who's who" in York, that's fine with me but consider this might not be the best situation for that.

If, on the other hand, you feel this is getting boring I can skip right over it and get you to hear what the Baron has to say (just after he presents Vito to the court).

I have a reason to want to talk to Alberto though.

My next visit is with Edward og York.

I'm not saying I plan to ignore Edouard, but I would like a chance to talk to Alberto before the GM moves the plot along, if at all possible.

Edward may assume (being ignorant of a lot) that this occurs every evening. I know bad assumption on his part... ; )

Try to talk with him, then. But consider each of these characters has his own agenda and personality. I believe you can glean something of Alberto from his answer to Edouard. Certainly things may go differently for an High Blooded cainite, but probably not very much, considering how he seems to be.

I am not sure if I can counter the darkness through chimistry or not, that will be up to the DM of course.......

I'd say you can give the illusion of a brighter room, yet details and the like won't become clearer (unless you "overwrite" them with your illusion, and in that case they would show whatever you want, not necessarily what is there). In other words, you may make the illumination seem brighter but for any useful purposes (like reading, for example) it won't help.

Edit: Vito will get an opportunity to talk with mr Giovanni, after he finishes speaking with edouard.

I'm still confused about how I addressed the wrong person, but that was an interesting faux paus on Edward's part.

Probably it was Lachlan way to give you a way out of a difficult social interaction, so to speak...

Edward posted that he was going to talk to Lady Elizabeth, but walked up to Lachlan and Lady Sian. I think it was just the similarities in their last names and the similarities in Lady Eleanor and Lady Elizabeth's first names.

By the way, just a heads up. I am leaving for California this morning and will not be back until early Tuesday morning. I won't have any access until that time, so I will not be posting until late Tuesday.

What I am seeing in the game thread is that Edward and Lachland (possibly Vito) (who are trying to watch and ward) and following the orders as given.

Are being challenged by Bertrand to gather additional information. Edouard being a scholar concept is all for collecting shreds of evidence and lore so that he can make intuitive connections.

It looks like it could come down to either
1. The higher clans out clout the lowers
OR
2. the high clans allow the two lowers to do something that will not delay/endanger the mission

All in all a great role-play opportunity!

Bertrand believes this is the best way to gather information, he might budge on this but will pout about it..... :-)

I don't mind going to see the Nos, but we have to find a way for it to have it make sense. It's not something the high clans would just do. Additionally, Lachlan is a staunch loyalist of the Baron, so it would be one difficult to convince him to do this, and second, if we do, to keep it from the Baron if required.

But a little information gathering is always a good way to start. Opens our eyes to York a bit. What is really going on, or at least on very tainted opinion from a sewer rat.

No, what we are seeing is Bertrand trying to delay the mission to search for his retainers/herd/allies/etc. and when rebuffed, trying to restate his personal goals in another way to make it sound like he wants to help with the mission. Stating it as an opportunity to gather information in the first place may have convinced Lachlan. Trying to twist it around to make it seem like it's in the interests of the coterie and furthers the mission will never work.

Well, finding the nossy's nest and convincing them to help you could very well be helpful for the coterie, and not just for this quest. Of course the Nosferatu are notoriously difficult to locate and they will probably want something from you in return for their help...

Posting this to all my games:

Tomorrow, Feb 26th, I need followup surgery on my crushed toe, to deal with part of an exposed bone that is likely infected. This will probably cause me to loose about half my big toe, I think.

As I write this, I am about to go to sleep for a few hours, since I do not think I will be able to truly sleep through the night. I am kinda nervous, despite it being a relatively simple procedure.

I am unsure if I will be posting tomorrow after surgery, but I am hoping I'm fine. If I don't post you now know why.

I am sorry to hear this, Monkeygod. I hope that the surgery is a resounding success and that you are able to completely heal. Good luck and don't worry about missing these games. Focus on getting well.

Just a heads up. I'm going to be on vacation from the 6th to the 9th of March. Going paragliding so I'm not sure how great the internet access is over there. I'll try and post daily but if I can't feel free to DMPC me.

It happens to us all. We were just informed that here at work, all websites will be blocked excepting those that we must access for work related functions. I don't know if they will block this site or not. I'll find out April 1st.
