LostSoul, you there? Sorry to sound bugging, but possible to get the character up soon? :S People are waiting and sooner we can get things going we can get up to game :)

Ronin here, I've yet to make contact with Soul and once again, in the way of sounding like a d!@#, am deciding to move on without Soul. Elijah will be placed in his spot (providing Elijah still wants in) and Soul will take a spot on the waiting list. I realize that Soul was part of the original group. However, he informed us that it would take him two days to finish up his character and it has been nearly four days. I understand more than anyone that life may get in the way. However, five minutes from a busy schedule to inform the group that you'll be a bit late could have easily been accomplished. If I am able to make a moment or two in order to post, I expect others to do so as well.

This goes for everyone I game with. I don't find it fair to others and this is the ultimate reason behind my decision.

As of now, Soul, you're on the waiting list. Elijah, if you're still wanting in, you're in. If not, we'll roll with five people. If anyone has a problem with this, feel free to drop out. For those of you who choose to stay, here's the thread:

Not exactly what I meant and I understand why some of you may he feeling impatient. We started a game out good only to put it on hold over a few faux pases. Luke I said, its not a big deal. Life gets in the way and takes precedence and I understand that. However, other people should be taken into account as well in the sake of keeping it fair. Reason I made my decision the way I did was for the sake of fairness. Elijah has a character ready and has for a day of so, so I'm giving him priority since he took a bit of time out of his life to give a little to the game. Soul is still welcome here, but will have to deal with a waiting list. I have no doubt there are other games to occupy himself with as well.

Will have some trouble posting tomorrow until evening, so expect to hear me again after 16-20h. Not wishing to hold the game, as people wait for my "copy & paste"

I think we'll survive.

Sure, what are the characters currently? I know there is a cleric but what else and are there any limitations on races? I have the players handbook and the advanced players guide and I don't have a problem with strictly using those I just would like to know my options since I don't have any other material for pathfinder. Also I am sure its listed somewhere but I cant seem to find it, is this a good or evil campaign?

If you skim back through the thread here a bit, you'll notice some House Rules, a list of Arisan Deities, and various other tidbits.

As for the build of your character, the campaign is mostly neutral I'd say (with Arwin being the only evil-aligned party member @ LE). You're allowed to use the Core Rulebook and APG both in addition to choosing either the Aasimar or Tiefling races from the Bestiary. Wealth limit is 25,000 GP and there are few other limitations.

Also, the Leadership feat is out-of-play.

If you have any questions whatsoever, get with the group or me and we'll answer all prevalent questions you may have to the best of our ability. Full character creation rules can be found at the beginning of this thread.

Also, to all, ix-nay the Simplecraft, Fencing, and Reputation rules I mentioned from Nobis (though I'm positive it doesn't matter as no one bothered with them anyways).

Mac can take my spot if he wants in. As much as I hate to give it up and despite my adamant interest in this campaign, my workload both at home and at work just doubled practically overnight. Boss is drilling me to get some last minute paperwork done and my fiance is going on a business trip to Chicago, so I'm left to take care of everything at home. (Two full-grown labs are hell by the way.)

Anyways, I'll keep following the thread and, providing I get a break, I'll hang out on the waiting list in case someone else drops out. With the way your dropout rate is looking now, though, I may end up getting lucky. Besides, like Severed Ronin said, there's plenty of other games up here that I can track down and join maybe. Just hoping my own group here at home doesn't get ix-nayed either since the DM is heading to California on vacation in a month or two.

Mac, congratulations on joining the party! Just let me know what sort of character you're looking to play, flesh me out a concept, and we'll go from there. You can ask the others - I'm pretty laidback when it comes to things.

I have never played in a play by post game before, but have been looking for one to get involved with. I am so into the campaign setting and think that the work you all have done so far even though you had to do a reboot. I would love to throw my hat in the ring to be considered. I know you are running a waiting list so I would love to be put on it.

It would probably take me a minute to learn the forums and the tech parts, but getting the character and the concept done wouldn't take much time at all.

I am initially drawn to making an Aasimar Life Oracle. I am imagining someone who had the experience of being burned because his house was destroyed when he was a child due to his mother being a celestial sorcerer.during one of the magic cleansing raids. He would have the celestial bloodline that developed further in him and resulted in him being born Aasimar. While the fire was killing his family he found himself shielded from the flames after taking substantial burn damage that would eventually lead to sever scaring on his leg leaving him with the lame oracle curse and with a strong internal drive to protect life by whatever means necessary. He would be timid, quiet, shy, and nervous. Constantly afraid he will be the target of another of the cleansing attacks. He finds himself allied with characters who don't share his good disposition, but he is convinced that by working with them he will be able to accomplish more good than he ever could no his own in these dark times. He understands himself as the quiet moral compass of the party.

I imagine him playing a primarily healer/buffing role.

I also have an interest in playing a flame oracle, a witch, or a druid.

With the witch I would be curious if the unique campaign setting afforded the opportunity to take other types of familiars of the dm's creation. If I went druid I would go without an animal companion taking the domain instead. I think it would fit the game better at this point.

Magus and Inquisitors are..essentially two sides of the same coin.

Magus is an Arcane Caster/Fighter
Inquisitor is a Divine Caster/(Ranger?)/Fighter

So neither of us are dedicated casters or fighters.

Mac, character is looking good so far. Toughness, though, should give you +9 to HP though if I'm correct. Will check it more closely later.

Well my character is just about finished, only thing left is the gear so let me know what you think and if I need to make any changes.

Thanks Ronin. I will follow the game, because it look super exciting and interesting so if something opens up I will not take too long to get caught up. In the next few days I might go ahead and roll up the character so that if the time comes there isn't a major character creation delay.

Not sure about yahoo or skype. Its really up to Ronin, he was talking about using a map; I like whatever reduces confusion the most.

*edit* You know I just realized something, I have no idea where my character is from geologically and I didn't really find any mention of dwarfs in your description of Aris. Do they have a specific region they are mainly found or is it basically just all over the place?

A few places in particular but nothing of particular import. Most of the Core Races are found everywhere.

By the way it appears the image you have on your site (The shadows of Aris) is broken, specifically the link at the bottom of "The World of Aris", its suppose to be a map of the world I would assume from the title (The Cartographer's Piece: A World Map to Aris).

Just figured you might want to know, and I guess if anyone asks I can just pick a place on the map, any places specifically that have a lot of mountains? I guess it really doesn't matter that much unless it comes up in the game, but missing that one little piece is bugging me =/

So, uh, I didn't really read everything here apart from the introductory post, which sounds really interesting.

Just wondering if you're still looking for players. If so, I'm also curious whether you'd accept the most recent test-version of the Magus. I looked at it earlier today and found that I really like the class conceptually.

Edit: Aw, just noticed that you already have one. Hmm. Well, if you guys ARE going evil, how 'bout that Anti-Paladin? *cough* Probably not that good an idea for ambivalence, though ... hm. I'll have to think about what I'd play some more, if a slot is still open.

I believe at this point we are putting folks on a waiting list in the event that someone has to leave the game for whatever reason. If you're interested in that, just say so and I'm sure Severed will gladly put you on.
