I can hand out six more 'bits of luck' rerolls, and I can try to get in its way with copycats, causing it to waste attacks. I've got one more channel, but nothing else unless stabilise hurts it (I guess the undead opposite is 'bleed', so no). I've got a potion of cure, so if you two hold down that shadow, I can pour it down its throat ;-)

So yeah, fancy that. Two clerics and a paladin, but only the bard has a cure light ready.

Clerics can spontaneous convert to cures.

Spontaneous Casting:

A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that she did not prepare ahead of time. The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower (a cure spell is any spell with “cure” in its name).

Yeah, I can channel twice, and have two cures ready, but my to-hit will be terrible in a few rounds (already taking a -2 due to smoky room, and packing some STR damage). I honestly think we're unable to fight this thing at this point. Fighting it now will only result in us turning to shadows as well, or fleeing with even more STR damage.

People seem divided over this, let's have a vote. Fight or flee? In-character I want to fight it, but wisdom says I should run.

Then fight it. Omorose already told Venja to stfu, so keeping up the assault seems valid now.

We need to get about 5 CLWs in to kill it. Wolf pack tactics for flanking and spreading damage (people with cures active engage, people without retreat.). Don't ever provoke.

Okay, that settles it, then. We have 5 CLWs among the three of us, and a wand. Then there's channels and maybe the dagger. It's doable, but it's not going to be pretty.

the smoke does make it awful attacking here (-2 perception, attack ) for living creatures.

yes the dagger radiates magic. Before I move on to the Shadow's action, does Cyrixs want to do something this round?

yeah rowanne, sorry, i moved you up thinking smite would help at first. the smite does increase your AC vs. the shadow, and if you use a wand of clw on it, you'll still get smite bonus to damage. ::shrug:: if you'd rather flee, you can.

Also, Omorose, your Disrupt Undead will be practically impossible to hit. -2 from the room, -1 from DEX, and a -4 if you're shooting into melee. That's a lot of penalties.

Rowanne takes the dagger from Vanovar, ready to stab the shadow in its non-existent kidneys.

What kind of action is it to take the dagger? I am going to assume I have enough actions left to move and attack the shadow

I had a stag party and I will probably be hung over for three weeks, so here is my math, feel free to correct me if wrong. Math hard: To hit, normall +3 with a melee weapon, now +1 from the smoke. +3 from smite evil (charisma 16). Damage, dagger is 1d4, +3 from strength, I have no strenght damage yet, +2 from smite as its an undead?

I see you're tracking damage. The thing also took 2 damage from a channel from earlier.

Vanovar five-foot steps back, then casts a CLW, holding the charge.

Don't want to risk losing the spell by casting defensively, so I guess we're going to do this the slow way. Attack next round, cast a new one the next, and so on. If Rowanne attacks and five-foot steps back again, maybe she'll lead the shadow out of my reach, so I can cast and attack in the same turn.

Smite evil is +3 to hit (charisma) and +1 damage (paladin level) (It's +2/paladin level on the first succesful hit against Undead, Dragons, Evil Outsiders only), but that's probably still a miss. The good news is: the others might have gotten its attention! ;-) Oh, and you seem to forget your BAB (+1) and normal strength bonus (+2)

>> horn level 1 << -- Way of the Wicked

Rowanne and Vanovar both miss, but begin to arrange themselves to flank the shadow. casts a cure and steps up to attack it, and though the shadow flickers, it still menaces you all.
you're missing the -2 for the smoke? or is that already factored into your +2 to hit, +2 from flank? you're also inspired for +1 attack/"damage". math is hard. so i think its 13 +2 +2 +1 -2 = 16 touch , (1) +1 +1 damage = 3 damage, will save DC 15

will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Omorose tries disrupting it again, as cyrixs steps into rowanne's flank,
attacking with a 21 for (2)+1 +1 = 4 damage DC 13

will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
it saves, but takes 2 damage, which causes it to dissipate

the shadow fades, its smoky body dispersing to the smoke in the room as the glowing eyes rise up and wink out of existence.

the smoke still clogs the air, and coughing, you back out of the room with the key and dagger to breathe in the outer room, shutting the door to stop the smoke from filling up the room there, some of it having already wafted out into the rest of the other room, but not as thickly.

Don't you need supplies for long-term care? I don't know what they consist of, but I don't have anything with me. From the Heal skill: You need a few items and supplies (bandages, salves, and so on) that are easy to come by in settled lands.
