Female Shifter Rogue 9

Karkalla will look around for any clue on how to disable the trap

Perception (+1 for trap sence

1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 1 = 20

Male Human Cleric 5th

Thoven yells out in surprise and backs up out of the range of the fire

GM

Karkalla You do not see anything that might have set it off

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

I didn't get any clues with detect magic? Like I said earlier, I'm basically going to keep it active as we search along...

GM

Ya need to remind me your using it and on what as something ya said earlier in a pbp could be weeks ago and I most likely will not recall it to be honest. But no it would not have helped all that much the smoke was magic, but y'all kinda knew that all ready. No one did a perception check for traps on the entryway. So nope y'all did not see it.

Ardanto, Thoven, Karkalla and Guard back away from the heat into the tunnel they came from while Toxium, Daurros and Finn flee into the new tunnel away from the heat. Inside the room the wall of flame moves forward across the ruined cityscape

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Ooh! It's just like a video game. Are there any platforms to jump on?

GM

maybe

Female Shifter Rogue 9

"........I'm about to try something incredibly stupid so wait here you guys" With that Karkalla begins to follow the moving wall keeping just far enough away to avoid being burnt by it she also trys to keep an eye out for a trigger or a way to turn it off

Perception (+1 for trap sence)

1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 1 = 15

If she dosent find a switch she follows the firewall till the tunnel entrance and then jumps in

Fighter Level 9

Ardanto nudges Guard and says "five gold says she gets burnt again," as he watches Karkella follow the wall.

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"I'll hold that." Guard replies, chuckling. "Cecile's in as well?"

Ardanto makes the skull nod and adds "Yeah, I'll stand up his gold as well,"

He then yells over to Karkella, "five gold says you can't leap through the wall,"

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

"Karkalla, these jokers aside, if you cannot find a way to disable this, I can try to dispel it." Daurros looks through his pack and retrieves his croll of dispel magic, in case it's needed here.

GM

Karkalla trails safely behind the wall as it sweeps across the room, Daurros readies his scroll but in a few moments 2 rounds total it smashes into the far wall extinguishing itself. The heat starts to dissipates as the room in cast in darkness once more without the flames.

Trap seems done, now what?

Female Shifter Rogue 9

Karkalla heads to the tunnel entrance and has one last look for a triger or some other way of turning the trap on/off

Perception (+1 trap sence)

1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 10 + 1 = 25

GM

Karkalla

Spoiler:
You are unable to spot anything that looks like it may set a trap off.

Female Shifter Rogue 9

"Looks clear." Karkalla yells to the others after looking around

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"You owe me 10 gold." Guard comments, turning to Ardanto.

"Still, I think it is better to go one for one over there, and fast. If we have to... What's over there anyway? And what about the way back?" he shouts over to Karkalla.

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

Toxim continues forward until he gets to the opening into the next room. He doesn't enter right away. He scans the room for any danger.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

I really got to work on that perception

GM

Toxim

Spoiler:

The walls of this room are covered with eroded glyphs and hieroglyphic images depicting what appear to be batlike creatures feasting on humanoids. The eastern wall beyond a low archway in the room consists of a strangely out of place sheet of iron.

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Finn also searches for any tricks or traps, and he also scans for magical auras with Detect Magic.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Coming up behind the others, Daurros also peers into the next room.

Female Shifter Rogue 9

"Another tunnel no idea were it leads." Karkalla shouts back

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

Toxim can't see beyond the turns in the tunnel. "Is everyone in yet?"

Fighter Level 9

Aranto pats him self down and shrugs, "no money, I'll pay you when we get back." he gestures towards the disappearing backs of Duarros and Karkella and asks "shall we?"

GM

Sorry guys been busy , updating now.

The party is headed toward the tunnel when the wall appears once more by the stairs. As you move deeper into the tunnel it once more starts it's track across the room, the group moves deeper into the tunnel to avoid the heat and comes across the room Toxim has found.

The walls of this room are covered with eroded glyphs and hieroglyphic images depicting what appear to be bat like creatures feasting on humanoids. The eastern wall beyond a low archway in the room consists of a strangely out of place sheet of iron.

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

Pointing to the different walls, "Stone, stone, stone, steel. Something is out of place here." I'll go look for more traps.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Female Shifter Rogue 9

Karkalla will assist with searching

Perception (+1 for traps)

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

GM

Trapseekers

Spoiler:
You see nothing that would indicate a trap

Fighter Level 9

"Ah, cobblers, will you look at that Cecil, if we had kept her talking for a few moments we would of been 10 gold up instead of 10 gold down." Ardanto comments sulking to the Skull as the wall of fire bursts into flames again.

Peering over many shoulders, Ardanto looks at the wall of iron and lets out a low whistle, "Hey Guard, how big an anvil would you need to make a sheet of iron that big?"

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

"Hey, Guard, you got anything that can make a hole in a sheet of iron that big?"

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"Just because of a sheet of iron, I'm the man now? Heh, interesting...
I got a hammer... If you let me have some space, I try that."

Female Shifter Rogue 9

Karkalla looks over the metal sheet

perception

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Trying to assertain if the sheet is a proper wall or more like a dividing door

Fighter Level 9
Guard wrote:

"You were always the main man," Ardanto adds as he moves aside to let Guard pass.

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Not trusting the other two (after being lightly roasted), Finn makes his OWN search for traps!

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37

If that doesn't find a trap, nothing will...

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

After the folks check for traps, assuming none are found or if one is it is disabled, Daurros intones, "Hold, everyone, before we go making holes. A sheet of iron like this, in stone ruins? Something doesn't smell right. And I'm not talking about Ardanto's hygiene."

detect magic throughout the area
Knowledge (arcana) 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
Knowledge (dungeoneering) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

also, I suspect this might be appropriate here
Spellcraft 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

Don't forget K:Architecture

GM

Daurros

Spoiler:
The wall gives off an aura of transmutation. You would guess this is a permanent wall of iron spell

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

"As I suspected. The wall radiates magic; this is most likely the result of a wall of iron spell. Since the iron that's created is just as susceptible to rust as regular iron, I would guess it hasn't been here that long or the humidity would have turned it into powder long ago.

"That also makes me think that someone put it there for a specific reason; to keep interlopers out, perhaps. Or perhaps to seal something in."

Fighter Level 9
Daurros Erdai wrote:

Ardanto pulls a worried face holds Cecil the jaw-less skull up to his armpit and whispers, "take a sniff, I don't pong do I?". After a pause he has Cecil shake his head slowly before turning the skulls socket gaze at Toxim. "yeah, I thought it was him as well," he whispers none to subtly.

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

"Do you suggest we turn back then, Daurros, or do we knock down the wall?"

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Daurros looks at Toxim and breaks a wide grin. "The wise thing, of course, is to turn back and go on our way. But I sure as hell didn't become an adventurer, come all this way, get turned to stone and soaked with basilisk blood, and almost get fried by a burning wall to turn tail and run at an iron wall. Let's break through."

GM

Whats the plan? to beat the wall down? I hope so as thats what I am going with

With the group seeming to want to get though the wall Guard steps up with his hammer. Griping it in both hands he slams into the wall, with little effect. But the warforged keeps up his assault/ 'WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! the sounds booms though the ruins like a great anvil. The hammer slams into the iron and it slowly starts to crack before Guards blows.

It takes Guard three minutes to pound a whole though the Iron wall. A roughly 3 foot wide by four foot tall whole though the 2 inch thick wall. Light drifts inside showing a room beyond the wall. Guard hunches and passes though the hole to peer inside.

The chamber beyond the wall bears a strange resemblance to the previous one, in that the floor is covered by an ancient model of a stone city. However where the previous model was terribly damaged, this chamber seems relatively preserved. The layout and style of the city is also different, with four wide canals converging upon a large lake at the center, from which raises a great stone pyramid. Mighty temples raise from the low angular buildings, while the stone walls depict lifelike depictions of leering bats, lizards and snakes.

To the south a single step seems to lead deeper into the ruin.

The city scale makes most building come to your knees while the pyramid loos near four feet tall.

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

"Well no one ever said that the Millineum Falcons were wise. Brave? Yes. Skilled? Absolutely. Wise? Well... not so much. Speaking of which.." Toxim goes in and looks for traps along the way to the step on the south wall.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Finn makes a careful search as well.

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22

Ranger 2/ Magus 7

I am so very jealous of your perception. I have a half elf in another game like that. I wonder if the other players feel about me like I feel about you? Oh well, they can suck it. I wonder if you feel about me like I feel about them?

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Guard moves away from the opening, letting the others look at it intently. Whispering he starts counting backwards, "10 ... 9 ... 8 ... "

Yes. You are welcome to "suck it". :-) On the other hand, you're also welcome to buy a set of Eyes of the Eagle; they're fairly cheap and effective.

Guard wrote:

Ardanto sidles up to peer through the hole, he stops an listens to Guard slowly counting down, "Hide and go seek?" he whispers questioningly.

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"7 ... 6 Wall of Flames? 4 ..."
