"Maybe one of us should go check up on Vrealk" Celena suggests
"Patience. We should give him more time. Vrealk's skill is the best I've ever seen and I have faith that he will return unharmed in due time."
"Markhet believes this is the case, but she hopes he returns soon so she can kill some gnolls. They are cruel and evil things and they need to be destroyed."
GM
Ok guys am back up to posting, not much of an update however :) Did N'Djamena go with vrelk? If not he is not really close enough to help
Vrealk studies the door, it seems to be on hinges, and unlocked and with no traps he can see. The dust and dirt around the door seems to point to it having been used some time recently. He listens at the door, but with the noise from the wheel he does not hear much of anything.
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
Welcome back. Glad to see some of your troubles are over Keeper DM.

Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote: Did N'Djamena go with vrelk? If not he is not really close enough to help It wasn't clear to me that Vrealk had moved somewhat far away. So in that case N'Djamena will just stand with his weapon at the ready in case anything leaps out and attacks.
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
Vrealk will try and open the door slightly in order to peek inside.

Ayish jumps a little when Vrealk's appearance startles her. But she nods in agreement with his suggestion.
Male Human Cleric 5
"Agreed, that's what I suggested earlier."
N'Djamena opens the door, morningstar in hand.
GM
No one seems to notice the group as they make their way across the bridge and to the door of the mill. N'Djamena opens the creaky door and light spills into the mill. The building is mostly pools of shadows and light.
A few rafters still cling to the roof, but parts of those have fallen to the floor, piles of junk litter the building. Old bags, stone , rotting wood and cast offs from when the mill had seen better days.
Even though the stone lays unmoving in the center of the room, the sound of the wheel still moving outside makes hearing a bit harder. Drag marks can be seen past the door as can the smell of carrion and blood be detected as well.
Your map. The long lines are the roof beams, the short ones are the broken parts on the floor.

Ayish wrinkles her nose at the smell...
"Come, let us search quickly and quietly," She whispers.

He saves Markhet for last. ;-)

Vrealk begins a more detailed search of the interior, trying to see what the drag marks could be and where the smell may be coming from.

Markhet has guidance :P
Markhet quickly casts guidance on Larrs and herself and loads her sling.
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
Ayish steps into the room, but advances no more than to stand beside the door frame. One hand upon her whip, though the weapon is still coiled about her waist.
The equivalent of taking a "Five foot step" forwards.
GM
As N'Djamerna casts a spell upon the group and Markhet casts one on herself and Larrs Ayish steps into the building out of the street. Her shadows fall long across the cluttered floor. Something moves along the rafters and Ayish sees it and yells a warning.
Gliding though the air to land upon a rafter you can see the beast in the shadowy light. From a wolf-like body the forelegs of a powerful stag issue
with sharpened hooves. Powerful black wings, and the taloned haunches of a gigantic bird of prey along with a head that combines the features of deer and wolf. A set of sharp horns arching over bloodstained jaws as it glares down at you from the shadows.

Ayish stares at the creature, trying to match its glare, as she takes a five foot step to her right and unlimbers here whip.
"It seems we have found the thing that roosts here." She nods towards the thing perched in the rafters, "One hopes it likes eating Gnolls as wel as people, then we can be happy there are less Gnolls about." She adds philosophically.
Ayish is also thinking through the spells she knows, looking for one that will help but not be 'over kill'...:P
With a spell on his lips Kelden steps into the room and moves confidently towards the winged monster.

Ayish tries to help the others out by pointing out the "bird" as Celena runs across the floor toward the broken wheel shaft.Vrealk nails it with his arrow. Markhet and Larrs ride into the room and the Gnome sends a stone sailing toward the thing. N'Djamena casts bless upon the group.

see map. she is at the shaft, which is 30' away. With her movement and the rubble there I really do not see how. Ranged maybe, but that is about it.

Well she could just throw the hammer with a natural 20 that would probably still be a hit (although most likely not a critical)
