Hmmm...those ogres must be really hungry, he he.

SR, question: Could Ushari use a Knowledge, Local roll to determine if her Dazing Touch SA will affect the ogre next to her, as there is a HD limit to the effect.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Hmmm... Giants usually require a K:Nature roll. However an ogre is a humanoid and not a 'true giant' so... yeah, I'll allow it.

Roger that...

Knowledge, Local 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

STONE-FACED KILLA

Also, is the unicorn a common figure in the general mythos or knowledge of your world? Basically, what would Jayse know (if anything) of unicorns based on his general knowledge-base?

Would he know it's a powerful, intelligent creature that could help us in the fight? or would he just see it as some freaky, glorified horse that is about to become lunch?

FYI, Ushari is waiting for the results of Jayse's attacks before she posts as she plans to channel this round.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Not a problem, I figured you were waiting on me. I think I've answered all your questions in the game thread... in retrospect, looking at that wall of blue text, maybe I should put it all here and delete it from there:

Jayse - I was being pithy by describing the unicorn as a horse with a horn. You guys definitely know the typical mythology about unicorns i.e. intelligent and elusive creatures of good, sometimes allowed to be ridden by chaste women who are pure of heart, valuable and hunted for their horn, etc.

Jayse (with Skitter Spoiler):

Ben, right now Skitter is a bit of rules breaker in terms of flanking. He is so small that he has to be perceived as a threat before he is allowed as a valid flank - i.e. he has to successfully attack a target before he can serve as a flanking buddy. That will change as he 'evolves' as a Destiny Item.

Ushari - while a roll of 12 isn't good enough to ID ogre weaknesses, since all you are trying to find out is their rough HD, I think that roll will squeak you by. You are free to use Dazing Touch and know it could effect the ogre.

I did a little mis-calc on that hit on Fin. She takes 5 more points of damage.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Keen may have been the best decision Jayse ever made. :)

STONE-FACED KILLA

So the giant has an AC of 13, right? RIGHT?!

Stupid possibly wasted ki point! YOU GO SQUISH NOW!

Just an FYI skill checks are not auto fail, even Concentration checks, he he.

HERE is a post detailing this. Scroll down to the Skills section.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

I think the fact that it isn't a skill is what is causing me some confusion.

Auto-Success/Auto-Fail is specifically linked to Attacks and Saves. But they aren't applied to skills. Concentration was a skill but now it is 'something else'... so which rule applies?

I guess, by the strictest interpretation, since it isn't an Attack or Save, it isn't subject to Auto-Fail. That works out great for Straehan, I never need to roll for 1st level spells!

SR,

Here is the specific rule in question:

Skills
1. ...
2. Auto-success on a 20 and Auto Fail on a 1 are not universal to all rolls. They apply only when called out. Typical examples are attack rolls and saving throws. The following are not subject to auto-success/failure: Skill checks, caster level checks, concentration checks.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Grazie! I must have skipped down too far on the link you sent.

STONE-FACED KILLA

And I don't know if that bit with Jax (or the other guy?) was just flavor, but by RAW, you can't gain any mechanical benefit (ie. added damage) by using a light weapon two-handed.

: shrugs :

STONE-FACED KILLA

TEst... test... awesome!

STONE-FACED KILLA

grumble grumble bad rolls grumble suck it dice grumble grumble

I didn't know that. Sheesh. I'm learning all sorts of rules today. Thanks!

STONE-FACED KILLA

That was part o the point of this game, right? I know I've learned a few things along the way.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Well, that was epic! Nice!

SR, could you confirm Jayse's HP total? I think there is a typo in there. By my calculation, he should be at -3 hp.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

I've been tracking it through MapTool and I don't believe I've missed any entries... but I'll re-check the numbers when I have time. Work is a little pressing today.

At a guess, since the difference is 10 points, I suspect you missed the post where Jayse healed himself for 10.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Yep, and he just did it again for 4 points. :)

I guess technically it's more akin to damage reduction, but the overall effect is the same.

Ahh Ok I see it now. Good to know I am not tracking loot anymore right? he he.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

XP 11,150 of 15,000 (5th)

STONE-FACED KILLA

I forgot to mention it in-game, but I'd suggest the Strength potion go to Jayse. He's got pretty solid saves already, with the ability to boost them by 4 as an immediate reaction if he needs it. Someone who can use a non-srength-based boost to attack and damage (Ushari) might get more use out of Heroism.

Where as a straight +2 to attack and damage is right up Jayse's alley.

Agreed, Jayse should get both potions....

EDIT: oh wait, let me reread the post, OK Ushari can claim the Heroism potion, he he

STONE-FACED KILLA

I was actually suggesting Jayse take the Strength and you or Straehan take the Heroism.

So what I'm hearing is:

Ushari - Ring of Protection, Potion of Heroism
Jayse - Potion of Bull's Strength

Correct?

Correct.

Updated Loot tracker with changes.

Can Ushari update her spells memorized?

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Yes, your deity does indeed provide even when you do not ask. Feel free to update your spells as you wish.

OK updated spells memorized.

HP: 51/79 | | Anatomist (+1 to confirm Crits) | | Fav. Enemy +4 = Humans, Half-Humans, Undead

20 + 2d10 + 8 + 4 ⇒ 20 + (5, 8) + 8 + 4 = 45 <--- hp (+4 for Favored Class Bonus)

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Welcome to the game. FYI - that '5' you rolled defaults to a '6' so that should be 46 HP. :)

STONE-FACED KILLA

Hey, welcome aboard, Jofram. Can we call you Jof?

Excited to see you thrown into the mix.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Also, Jofram, was looking over your character sheet... your Will save is 1 too low.. it should be +7.

Welcome aboard Jofram!

Now be a sweetie and rescuse the maiden faire....he he.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Straehan usually doesn't need saving..

oh wait, you were talking about Ushari. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!1

Naaahhh...Ushari will have this pirate eating out of the palm of her ha...

SPPLLOORTCH!!

"Medic..."

HEY! I think I'm going to mis-estimate the Area of Effect on my next several fire spells, Jayse. I'll just apologize now for when you explode in flames.

If you like. Thanks for the heads up on HP and Will - updated on my bio.

STONE-FACED KILLA

All of a sudden I'm excited about running across a half-orc named iron Bar.

: cracks knuckles :

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

:) I'll see what I can do about making that happen for ya.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Knew I could count on ya, Stormy!

Actually I would say that experience is...ummm...VASTLY overrated.

Wait, wait, wait! This isn't the tunnel to Candyland?!?!

Jofram's Companion

HP ---> 8 + 1d8 + 2 ⇒ 8 + (6) + 2 = 16

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Hey guys, I am out of town right now but I will try to keep things moving this weekend as I can.

STONE-FACED KILLA

Enjoy being out of town. I'm definitely going to have a hard time posting through the holiday weekend.

HP: 51/79 | | Anatomist (+1 to confirm Crits) | | Fav. Enemy +4 = Humans, Half-Humans, Undead

I just realized that I miscalculated my perception - It's +13, not +15.

Sorry bout that.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Dude, you are so fired. :) Don't worry about the miscalc and thanks for correcting it.
