Also, is the unicorn a common figure in the general mythos or knowledge of your world? Basically, what would Jayse know (if anything) of unicorns based on his general knowledge-base?
Would he know it's a powerful, intelligent creature that could help us in the fight? or would he just see it as some freaky, glorified horse that is about to become lunch?

Not a problem, I figured you were waiting on me. I think I've answered all your questions in the game thread... in retrospect, looking at that wall of blue text, maybe I should put it all here and delete it from there:
Jayse - I was being pithy by describing the unicorn as a horse with a horn. You guys definitely know the typical mythology about unicorns i.e. intelligent and elusive creatures of good, sometimes allowed to be ridden by chaste women who are pure of heart, valuable and hunted for their horn, etc.
Ben, right now Skitter is a bit of rules breaker in terms of flanking. He is so small that he has to be perceived as a threat before he is allowed as a valid flank - i.e. he has to successfully attack a target before he can serve as a flanking buddy. That will change as he 'evolves' as a Destiny Item.
Ushari - while a roll of 12 isn't good enough to ID ogre weaknesses, since all you are trying to find out is their rough HD, I think that roll will squeak you by. You are free to use Dazing Touch and know it could effect the ogre.
I did a little mis-calc on that hit on Fin. She takes 5 more points of damage.

Just an FYI skill checks are not auto fail, even Concentration checks, he he.
HERE is a post detailing this. Scroll down to the Skills section.

I think the fact that it isn't a skill is what is causing me some confusion.
Auto-Success/Auto-Fail is specifically linked to Attacks and Saves. But they aren't applied to skills. Concentration was a skill but now it is 'something else'... so which rule applies?
I guess, by the strictest interpretation, since it isn't an Attack or Save, it isn't subject to Auto-Fail. That works out great for Straehan, I never need to roll for 1st level spells!

            SR,
Here is the specific rule in question:
Skills
1. ...
2. Auto-success on a 20 and Auto Fail on a 1 are not universal to all rolls. They apply only when called out. Typical examples are attack rolls and saving throws. The following are not subject to auto-success/failure: Skill checks, caster level checks, concentration checks.

And I don't know if that bit with Jax (or the other guy?) was just flavor, but by RAW, you can't gain any mechanical benefit (ie. added damage) by using a light weapon two-handed.
: shrugs :
I didn't know that. Sheesh. I'm learning all sorts of rules today. Thanks!

I've been tracking it through MapTool and I don't believe I've missed any entries... but I'll re-check the numbers when I have time. Work is a little pressing today.
At a guess, since the difference is 10 points, I suspect you missed the post where Jayse healed himself for 10.

I forgot to mention it in-game, but I'd suggest the Strength potion go to Jayse. He's got pretty solid saves already, with the ability to boost them by 4 as an immediate reaction if he needs it. Someone who can use a non-srength-based boost to attack and damage (Ushari) might get more use out of Heroism.
Where as a straight +2 to attack and damage is right up Jayse's alley.

            20 + 2d10 + 8 + 4 ⇒ 20 + (5, 8) + 8 + 4 = 45 <--- hp (+4 for Favored Class Bonus)

Excited to see you thrown into the mix.
If you like. Thanks for the heads up on HP and Will - updated on my bio.

Sorry bout that.
