Coeran Medvyed |
Brenn whistles at the pile of coins. The shake down game seems quite lucrative indeed! They couldn't have had time to intercept too many others this early in the morning huh?
Once they push away, Coeran takes up a pole and helps put some distance between us and the sinking craft. At Brenn's comment, Coeran says "Heh. Yeah, I found that out a while ago. In recent months, when I've been short on coin, I'd have a few drinks and wander down a dark alley. When some thugs would jump me, I'd surprise them with some competence. Heh, good money and good times."

Brenn |
With everyone back aboard the Tatzlwyrm, Brenn chopped the rope and pushed the faith barge away with a shove. Well, this wasn't a darkened alley, and I don't think you have been drinking, but I bet they sure were surprised! Brenn replied with a smirk. Between the lady's handy trick and our Gorumitte's impressive "song", I don't think they knew what hit them. Brenn added a bow to Genevieva and a salute to Morven and the others. Damn fine work. I'll try and contribute more next time!
To Cadoc he remarked, Easy come, easy go. They should have quit while they were ahead.
He slipped his throwing ax back into his belt, and watched impassively as the faith barge took on water, before turning his back and asking the captain. As before I suppose?
Morven Greigor |
Morven gave only the barest of acknowledgements to Brenn's praise, but a faint nod of his tusked head made it clear that it was appreciated.
What a pitiful band of robbers. Barely worth unsheathing my sword for. I doubt their spoils were a single day's take.
The warrior resumed his vigil, keeping an eye on the waters ahead.

The surviving thugs come too in time to see the Tatzlwyrm pull away, and send a couple of well phrased curses to follow it. But despite the bravado, it's pretty obvious the men consider themselves fortunate to be alive, and show much more interest in self preservation rather than pursuit or revenge.
"I'm fine, lass. Whatever spell he hurled at me, it's worn off again. We'll keep going until the lights fade, then draw close to shore and drop anchor. The river is too risky to navigate by night. I expect constant watch throughout the night, so you might as well get a watch rotation sorted. Kale says.
