| Vigny Einarsdottir |
Vigny leaves the brunch or lunch feeling and embarrassed and very cross with Helgarval. She doesn't put the helmet back on outside, instead carrying him in the crook of her arm. As they walk, Vigny slows down a little to get enough distance between herself and everyone else to bicker with him.
"Why are you so rude all the time?"
Vigny hasn't forgotten that Helgarval has also been fairly randomly she thinks quite short with her before.
"There was no reason at all to treat Spivey like that."
The knock gets a very bleary-eyed Vigny out of bed. She takes the time to get decently dressed since at that hour she's expecting there is some sort of trouble, which is instantly reinforced when she lays eyes on the young man at her door thrusting a scroll at her.
Upon reading reading the scroll, Vigny's first impulse is to laugh. She'd been expecting a court summons or something of the like due to the trouble in the street the day before.
The laugh only is short, just enough time to release her tension. Then she panics because of the actual contents of the scroll.
Lunch! Lunch is too soon! How am I supposed to be ready for lunch in time?!
Rapidly dressing completely, Vigny is out the door on a mission within a very few minutes. First Vigny tackles her hair. She gets a light trim to take care of split-ends and a double crown braid updo. Moving on to clothes, Vigny finds a dress which she likes and also fits perfectly without needing any alterations. There is no time for alterations. She doesn't love that it's mostly black, but the front panel is a lovely deep red with swirls of vines with leaves and flowers embroidered all over it, unfortunately also done in black. She buys it since it's her best best option in a pinch.
Finally, Vigny procures a basic set of cosmetics before rushing back to her room. Getting into the dress doesn't take much time. It doesn't have a true corset, Vigny isn't sure she could survive several hours in one of those. But, the dress does have laces to draw in the torso on the front as well as the back. This means she can tie the back, slip the dress on and tie the front without having to go find someone to help her.
It's the cosmetics that take up all her time. Vigny isn't very familiar with their use or application, so it takes three face washings before she can get a result that doesn't make her look like a clown.
Vigny is at the Black Gull just before noon, very nervous again by then because she isn't sure whether she's overdressed or not for lunch and she's mentally cycling through all the various ways she will surely humiliate herself at a fancy place like the Black Gull. She should never have asked for this...
But, once she's inside, where she realizes the restaurant is empty of other diners, Vigny calms down considerably. By the time she has walked across to her table with Sandru, Vigny is thoroughly enchanted. She gets seated with only a little effort effort spent wrangling her voluminous skirt.
Vigny glances around at the room, then out the window, then at Sandru. She feels her face warming and hopes she isn't going too red. Sandru looks really good...
Ignoring the dwarves, she asks him "where is everyone else?" while leaning in across the table conspiratorially. "I'd figured the room would be packed with people?"
She quickly and a bit awkwardly adds "I like your shirt. You looks really nice."
Vigny has been some degree of distracted for most all the journey so far, lots of things on her mind.
After her first assault on the ninja fails due to what she thinks is some sort of magical misdirection, Vigny finds some focus and tries to take her down again after adding a quick spell casting to bring luck.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 3 + 3 = 14
Miss Chance (done right?): 1d3 ⇒ 3
