Bugsby:
As you focus on the magical aura's, other effects begin to appear beneath the illusion. Necromancy, Abjuration, and Enchantment are discernible. The collage of auras moves into the room with Avora.

The dark aura again pulses with evil intent, causing the broken bones from Lachna's strike on the zombie to begin mending before the dwarves eyes. "One block the door, the others: kill the living." comes a command from the middle of the room. Then, the door in front of Avora closes, a click of the lock heard through the chaos of combat. The Zombies lurch forward, slamming into Lachna and Bugsby. They manage to avoid many of the strikes, but the one that came from near Avora barrels into the gnome, nearly crushing him with a two fisted smash.

Near Kalt, again the icy chill from the Skeletons worms its way into his bones and freezing him from the inside. A flurry of claws decend of the ranger, but his nimble moves and skillful swordsmanship deflect all the blows before they could touch flesh.

Above the fray, the lone archer pries a dagger from his chest and looks down at his undead comrades. "I'm living too, and I'd like to stay that way." he says, tossing down his bow and putting his hands in the air.

Avora:
You feel a presence nearby and lash out with your spear, catching nothing but air. Hot and vile breath on your neck sends chills down your spine far worse than a winter wind "Yes, I think you'll do nicely in my collection." comes the voice on the wind.

Kalt savors the warmth of Sarenrae's healing energy as it flows through him, fighting off the bitter cold he felt when the skeletons first attacked him. Damn, even the sting of that healing feels good compared to that cold. Not used to feeling cold. Better put these guys down.

DM - is the fireplace a mostly vertical structure, or is the brick-looking portion of it on the map flat (i.e., horizontal)? I'm wondering if Kalt could jump up onto it and fight from higher ground - and from a nice toasty place that the skellies might not like so much.

Bugsby takes the slam with ill humor, feeling several ribs crack and seeing stars, stars which occupy his attention for several moments as he admires their brightness, luster and erratic flight pattern. Shaking his head to clear it he surveys the carnage around him, calling out "AVORA! Somethingorsomeonewith Necromancy, Abjuration, and Enchantment aura's justgotpastyouintotheroomsomehow!" and just hopes she heard him. Then the pained gnome tries to figure out how to save his own nearly broken neck.

Glancing behind him at the broken window, he turns and leaps through it, snapping his fingers and dismissing that puddle of grease even as his small and battered body hurdles through the air to land heavily on the ground outside. Picking himself up he moves to the window on the north side of the main doors, getting himself into a position to contribute to the battle in a few seconds.

Withdraw & dismiss grease spell. AC17 HP 1/9. I second the suggestion to channel to harm undead. If you can damage them all from where you are Ankih, all the better. :)

I know, and I see why what I wrote was confusing. Since Kalt took the 6 hp of cold damage last round, Ankih channeled for 4 hp, and Kalt's fey blood made that 6 hp, which brought him back to full. I was just describing that moment - even though it took place in the previous round - but didn't make the timing clear. Sorry for any confusion.

And I'm with you, Sven - I'm about to use my 1/day Ranger's Focus ability on a skeleton, though not an ordinary one at least.

Looks like we posted at the same time. I don't think Kalt is down. In this post you said everyone was at full HP. Three posts later, Kalt took 6 hp from the skeletons. Then, Ankih channeled for 4, which for Kalt was 6. So he was at full HP when the skeletons hit him, leaving him at 1. Jacked up, yes, unconscious, not yet.

Seem right to you?

No, in the round right before this, at the top of the page, I neglected to do my OOC wrap up that had Kalt taking 3 more cold damage (after the channeling round) and Bugsby taking 8. Because of that 3 damage, Kalt is at -2.

I hate to be saying this, but it seemed worth bringing up, in the interest of fairness. My understanding is that clerics have to choose whether they're going to heal the living or harm undead when they channel in a given instance. Per the PRD, "Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric." How have others seen this played?

The half-orc smiles a toothy grin at Sven's perceived offer. "Well then lets clean this place up sugah, and we can start working on that repayment." Whipping out her mace she runs up behind Ankih and then leaps up and over the skeleton. "This is gonna hurt, since they explode." She then brings her mace down, crushing the skeletons skull. Bugsby uses his remaining grease pile as extra protection, and formulates another glob of magical goo, flinging it at the nearest Zombie, rooting it to the floor. The acid slowly begins to dissolve the newly dead flesh.

The remaining skeleton, a new warm body nearby, lashes out at the half-orc, but she nimbly avoids the blows while the aura begins to freeze he blood as well.

Lachna wobbles a little from the hit and her shield arm falls a bit for a moment, but the exploding skeleton brings her back to her senses. At Sven's shout, she picks her shield back up and steps a bit closer in his direction to aid with the blocked door.

On it, Lad, she says as she moves. Torag, keep me standing long 'nough ter help ye.

Judgement change to Healing. HP: 5/10

After her quick step, she swings her hammer at the zombie blocking the door.

hammer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

However, even with both strikes landing, the Zombie still stands, having resisted most of the crushing blow from the Inquisitors hammer.

Bugsby cheers as he sticks the undead with a protoplasm and tries again on the next nearby and unstuck foe, the green glob aimed for its legs.

" Sarenrae, a little help here would be appreciated. Please?"

Kalt's eyes open with an almost audible snap as Ankih sends powerful healing force through him. His body quivers and his heels drum the floor for a moment, then his normal calm returns and he says, "Ankih, I've never been a religious man, but I'll tithe to Sarenrae for certain after this. Thank you."

He then rolls to his feet, scooping up his mace as he does so. Having seen how easily the first skeleton's skull broke before the thing exploded, he foregoes his usual mighty attack to ensure accuracy. He smashes the skeleton across the face with his mace, hitting it quite hard still. He than calls out, "Sven, and you, half-orc, get back!" and attempts to duck behind the corner of the fireplace to dodge the effect of the bursting skeleton.

Light mace attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Light mace damage, 2H: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Reflex save to duck behind fireplace?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Don't know if that will help, but it seemed worth trying.

Status: 6/13 hp

Edit: Looking at the map again, it would have been hard to have more people affected by the exploding skeleton. But maybe it'll take down the zombie!

As Sven rolls to his feet, the skeleton lashes out, nearly undoing the healing Ankih did. He lands felling blow and again the skeleton explodes in a burst of cold causing Kalt to swoon as his consciousness threatens to leave him again. The zombie near the door freezes solid in the burst of cold, and a nudge from Sven sends it toppling to the floor, shattering into dozens of pieces.

Tenpenny steps to the side, pincering a zombie between her and Lachna as it is about the crush the Inquisitor. In a flash, her short sword comes out and lops of an arm of the beast, nearly laying it low in one strike.

The zombies continue to assault Lachna, and still she is up to the task of defending her party, as she deflects two blows that she is sure would have felled her if they connected.

Avora:
The vile assault continues, with you unable to stop it. Suddenly Rokhar's ears perk up, "It would appear your friends were stronger than my undead. Pity, we'd have had such fun." he says as he licks your ear. Pulling out his short sword, he slashes you across the lower belly, and the wound immediately begins to fester and ooze a greenish fluid. "Something to remember me by."
