Staggering levels seems like a lot of extra book keeping. :/
It seems like a way to mitigate one of the perceived problems with level based games (the issue you described). I prefer level based as it gives a handy (if inaccurate) method of describing 'power'. This is opposed to the non-leveled systems I have seen such as White Wolf and Cyberpunk (if any of you are old enough to remember R.Talsorian's version ;) )

Never played either of those. I've heard of them, just never came across anyone actually running or playing a game lol. But anyways, I'm gonna try the stagger in another game, I may have a Jade Reagent game starting up at home here soon, and I'll try that to see how it goes. Okay, so Ameiko's Sense Motive is close, and I mean close. Which means I need to know if I have to pull a penalty on your end with your response Triel. How red are her eyes? Are they entirely red, are the irises red with a white or black ball... Basically what I'm trying to figure out is if this is going to be unlikely or can still count as believable cause she caught a good glimpse underneath the visor considering she beat your disguise by more than 5. Like I said, the die itself was higher than you total check. Not trying to be an ass here or anything, but considering you being a drow can have some major story setbacks when it comes to the townsfolk, calls like this kinda have to be looked at a little closer, you know what I mean?
Her eyes are red on the outside, turning to orange for pupils in the centre.
So in other words, that response could very well count as unlikely?

So I went with the unlikely scenario, but as the result was pretty close, I kept it within a reasonable response for her current situation which will obviously be revealed here soon. And once again, I need everyone to look at the map and make sure that's where you want to be (I've kinda been moving people around the best it makes sense to me).

Some good news and some bad news.
Good: I am getting ready to Retire from the US Army after 20 years! This means I am definitely moving - don't know where yet, maybe Maryland, maybe Qatar (wuh!?). My access will be shaky for a while (we are piggybacking a neighbor's WLAN right now) but I look forward to getting back to the US where internet speeds are way above my current pain of 2.7mb/s...

I apologize for the slow weekend, today is Arathorn's birthday, but we spent the weekend dedicated to her. So naturally we were kinda away from the computers lol.

Well considering nobody is really seeing what you're doing, and they know you can cast spells, I don't really see how this exposes you as a drow. At least in my head anyways...

I'd have to say Cian. We know that Vanya is going to be intermittent the next few months, and we haven't heard back from Ithylia. I've got no problem GMPC'ing Vanya and Ithylia, but I can't have just this combat be Triel and Arathorn posting because me GMPC'ing 3 characters is just gonna end up with me running combat scenarios with two people. If Cian can keep up with the posting, then this should be okay, but I really do not want this to end up being just a 2 person game with 3 GMPC's. It's really not fair to you and Arathorn if that's what's going to be happening. I've sent word to Ithylia stating what's going on and that she's always got a spot here, but I've wound up being forced to make the decision that until she can actually post and keep up more a lot more frequently than once every month or so, I'm going to have to have her character just stick in Sandpoint and get dropped. And I'm about getting to the point with Cian as well. But I need this battle to happen first so I can wrap that end up and get things going because if it's just you and Arathorn posting this fight, it's not going to end well for the two of you and that's not fair for anyone. I know I'm not the most qualified person to talk about posting rates with what I've had happen in the last year, but with how slow this game has been going despite trying to get it to pick up (considering I ran a room a day so that you guys could have options if you wanted to stick to a room for something), it's beginning to make me wonder if it's even worth it to keep this game going at all. I really don't want to end this and just call it inactive, but I've tried everything I can just shy of running your characters myself to get this going, but the only 3 people I can really expect to post is yourself, Vanya and Arathorn because I consistently remind her to post when she either needs to post or should post. And it's because of that that I'm starting to have thoughts that I should probably just call this inactive and attempt to find a different group to start new. I'm not trying to be an ass here and make the issue that it's either post or you're done, but after trying to get this going again to see that nothing really happened is putting me off of keeping it going, and those are just my thoughts.
I am here :) If it would help, I would even be willing to run a second PC to replace any holes the party has.

I'll admit I'm not too experienced with wordcasters. But I think I can make Cian work.
From what I had read about them, it's really not much different from your typical caster. The main difference is that you have to be a little more selective of your spell choices since you're combining different spells together to create new ones. But that's at higher levels which we aren't at yet.

Gotcha. Well if you want to take that on, that's fine. I know Arathorn will be behind slightly, as she's helping her friend with a fresh litter of great dane puppies that were born the other night. 7 puppies with only one stillborn. She didn't sleep for about 24 hours almost lmao.
