Oh yes, I found that.

I still think I might like to take 'Lone Wolf' as a Varisia Feat instead of a Varisia Trait.
It came from the old Rise of the Rune Lords Player Guide

Oh, I see, sorry. Well, that will make things more clear for Wivvy too, at least.

As usual, a tough choice for the DM. Lots of good stuff to choose from.

@Julen ~ I'm getting pretty stoked about this Skald, and the other brother is saying he'd like to wait and see what submissions Wivvy picks and try to fill the gap.

Okay sorry guys, I haven't been able to post much for the last couple of days, and won't be for the rest of the week. I have, however, looked of a lot of the characters and I'm loving what I see. Recruitment should be closed sometime next week, but I'll give everyone at least a three day notice.
@sunshadow21~ Yes, a VERY tough choice :)

How much downtime is there in Rise of the Runelords? If I made a dwarven magus who crafts his own weapons and armor, would I have a chance to do that?

Downtime shouldn't be a problem. I will make sure all the PC's will have plenty of time to do what they need to do.

GM if you can you should provide us all with a critique of our characters... Its gives us a figure on you and us a figure on you.

Been there, done that, ended up running two groups because I couldn't narrow it down any further than that.

magus blade scarf dancer, will change fluff and update numbers to fit this game.

OK, but I think I've changed my mind on what character to submit. Detskiye kind of inspired this character, so it seems appropriate to use him for a game you're GM'ing. Presenting Kugrim, the hobgoblin sorceror:

Background:
Kugrim didn't fit in among his people. His features betrayed exactly what sort of slave she had been for the orc to whom General Dogla had sold her; she suffered the double stigma of having been sold as a pleasure slave and then being returned, indicating she was a failure. This stigma passed to Kugrim by extension, and it only got worse when he failed to stand out during his mandatory military training. The last straw was when he started manifesting arcane powers; General Dogla exiled him. He made his way towards the town the humans called Sandpoint, knowing that there was a population of his goblin cousins nearby. He'd hoped they would shelter him (and maybe adopt him as a leader, eventually), but they would have nothing to do with him either. He then attempted to disguise himself as a half-orc (which--technically--he was, though not the human-orc variety that most people associate with that term) and entered into Sandpoint. He spends most of his time either at the Hagfish drinking (when he has the coin) or up on a cliff overlooking Junker's Edge plotting his kin's demise for rejecting him (when he's broke).

Unfit
Hobgoblins who failed to secure a position in the military hold the lowest status in hobgoblin society, and quickly learn the value of currying favor with their betters. Hobgoblins with this racial trait gain proficiency in a single martial weapon and +1 racial bonus on Bluff and Diplomacy checks. This racial trait replaces sneaky.

Actually that's not a bad idea. I don't know, I'll think about it.

Like I said, this week is pretty busy for me, so I won't be able to go through and critique characters until Friday at the absolute earliest. I'm trying to answer all the questions I can, but I'll be much more frequent after this week.

Finally finished my backstory, brain was having technical difficulties on the creative side.

It was a bit more work to be certain, but showed how flexible the AP was for allowing for party variance.

RotR is very flexible, I had an Inquisitor, Rogue, Barbarian, and twin wizards for my short run of it.

It always is.

I just want to point out that the character is going to be a fighter/rogue multiclass when he hits second level. After that he will be advancing in a "balanced" progression (alternating which class he takes his next level in) eventually maxing out as a fighter/10-rogue/10.

Forgot my application : sylph planar oracle :)

Sovereign Court

Hey, I actually wanted to float the idea of potentially crossing backstories in small ways,
I need to decide between two characters still.

One is Julen.
He's from Taldor. So I thought it might be interesting if he and Martina knew each other in some capacity. Either as competitors or friends.
(Maybe Martina has met Julen's former wife)

Number two would be a "Goblin Watcher" so maybe he has been best frie ds with our other Goblin Watcher? (Might have been one of our dwarf applicants...)

I'm a Goblin Watcher.

I would like to submit Desiona Veleshi for consideration.

She is a druid, menhir savant. Currently, I have her posted as a candidate for a Serpent's Skull game. However, since I am not sure she is going to be accepted there, I would like to submit her here as well, if that is acceptable.

Her backstory would fit the Rise of the Runelords well. Her parents met and coupled at the Swallowtail festival, and she grew up wandering the trade routes of Varisia with her mother. Her reason for returning to the festival is that it is a significant event in her family's history, so they regularly return to the town this time of year.

Further, at this point in her life, she is looking for an opportunity for adventure and glory, so she would jump to defend the town of Sandpoint.

I would have to make some adjustments, but I should be able to do them easily and quickly if Desiona is selected. I hope you find the character interesting and that you would consider her for this game. (^_^)

Wivvy is pretty cool with dual campaigns it seems... so it looks promising that the spots just went to six :D

Ah yes, the Slayer! That's right.

I'm sorry for mixing that up.

No I'm the Hunter

Okay, so I will be looking through as many submissions as I can tonight starting from the first and working my way down to the latest. I will post feedback on them tonight or in the morning, depending on how long it takes me. Sorry to keep you guys waiting, but it has been a busy week. Thanks for being patient.

@Tavius Taurandir- Also, I wanted to thank you for making that list, I was planning on doing but your boredom just made my Life easier. :)

Sovereign Court

Submitting Julen for feedback, then.
"Fair Ameiko, I am in need of good fare, good ale, and an ear lent to my ails before I am spent."

Currently Outlander(Exile) is his campaign trait. However I'm more than happy to exchange it for another. It's up to you if you want to count it, W-i-v-v-y.

[EDIT: Actually I have him geared for Friends & Enemies(Campaign). The idea was that his mother may have been the stablemaster's crush in his youth.]

Okay, so I have read through a few of the applicants (sorry it took longer than expected, today ended up being kind of busy) and the only mistake I have found is that Knut has a quarterstaff in his EQ, but a warhammer in his offense stats. I'll finish the rest as soon as I can.

Also, I am running two campaigns for two reasons:
1) I want to see how differently they play out.
2) There are so many good applications that I couldn't possibly choose two and still have my sanity. (Who am I kidding, I've never had sanity! But I'm still doing two campaigns.) Anyway, I'll let the two that got in on this campaign know as soon as my other two players and I can reach a decision. As for the other four, recruitment ends on Wednesday, August 6th and the players should know by that Friday. I'll post a link to the gameplay thread here then.

Dark Archive

Submitting this flowing monk for consideration. Build for different AP, but can make adjustments to fit here. Thank you.

Hello,

Though I have played Pathfinder numerous times in the past, this will (hopefully) be my first time playing online.
I am very excited about trying this! I want to play a Soulknife from Ultimate Psionics. Don't worry, he's not really psionic so you wont have to read up more than 5 minutes for him. What he does is conjure a "mindblade" which gets stronger as he advances in levels.

Here is my character. At the bottom you will find boxes for background / personality / appearance. http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=975112

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I'm having an INCREDIBLY hard time coming up with any fluff for this character, save a short explanation of his chaotic good alignment and the fact that he is a performer that is new to town. Anybody have crossover thoughts? I haven't had time to read many of yours for ideas.

-Posted with Wayfinder

Here's the basics on the Sandpoint Theater and Cyrdak Drokkus. It's a good place to start for a performer character.

Can someone explain to me how do I create a character like Kavaki? Im new here..

Click on My Account at the top of the page and go down to messageboard aliases. From there you can create a new alias and profile for that character.

I can Pm you a good stat sheet to use, though you will have to change it up for a psionic, and you can tie that to your Alias page in the About section.

Like this?

YES thank you ;)

What do you mean Tavius? Soulknives are not really psionic, they dont use powers and power points ;)

I've never read soulknives so I wasn't sure what they had.

Yeah, i got that, no problem. I'd be grateful for that stat sheet

It'll be a while its on my home computer, and from what little you said about soulknives reminds me a bit of the Blackblade Magus Archetype.

Honestly they are more like a fighter than a magus. but the concept of conjuring a weapon is pretty similar. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/classes/soulknife

check it out. shouldnt take more than 5 minutes.

Without seeing your PC's crunch it's hard for me to compose any linking fluff.

I assume you are a metal-as-hell skald?

Where you are sharp, Julen is soft. Where you are brutal, Julen is witty. Where you intimidate, Julen charms.
Yngwie is Ozzy Osbourne where Julen is William Shakespeare.
You loathe each other mercilessly, and yet there is a surprising degree of respect.

Julen, who works for the Law, wishes he were free - more chaotic like Yngwie.
Yngwie resents Julen trying to force good behavior upon him.

There have been more than a few "disagreeents" in the Rusty Dragon.
There has been blood on each occasion.
And yet through a spirit of nemesis, a kind of friendship is formed.

That would be the best link I can provide.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

and Tavius is the one placing bets on who draws first blood. Smart enough to not get involved and nowhere near dumb enough not to give them both a cut of the winnings.

As it turns out, my character, Desiona Veleshi, was accepted into the other game. Therefore, I shall bow out of the consideration for the second Runelords table.

Best of luck to everyone still in the running, and may everyone have fun!

Ah, commerce!

I literally saw this tonight, I'm hoping I can get in possibly, although he needs to be rebuilt, although the background is the same. His current stats are from a game that's dead, so I'll tweak those if I'm accepted, because if you're closing tonight, then I won't have time to tweak him in the next few minutes lol.

Just in time Satinder! Anyway, the two lucky applicants who will be in this campaign will know sometime tomorrow. The four equally lucky applicants who will be in my other campaign will know by Friday (hopefully). The gameplay thread for that campaign will be posted in this recruitment thread.

Recruitment is now closed!
