that one I forgot out of character, bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16Edit: never mind cole has eliminated any chance of staving him in the back with his guard down "really have you any grasp of subtlety, " goin to use my readied action to use burning disarm reflex save DC 16
DM Repentance
Cole casting magic starts the combat. I did not realise Wade had readied an action but read your post again. "if he makes a threatening move" He has made no threatening move so I will say that your spell can go off on your turn in the round, simulating that you weren't 'ready' for Cole to start combat like that.
"The Cardinal? You're the demon's Allies! Timeon get behind me! Mitra give me strength!" Cole moves into the room and turns out the lights. Kana's quick reactions to seeing him do this before means that she is able to fire off a bolt of acid before she is blinded splashing acid over Balin's armour, some of it seeping through and burning him. 2 dmg He grits his teeth.
Declan also get's to take her turn before the lights go out.
Round 1 (I think everyone can see except Kana)
Init: Declan - Kana - Cole - Sir Balin - Wade - Fletch
Cole Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Declan Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Fletch Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Kana Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Wade Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Sir Balin Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
1d20 ⇒ 14 1d3 ⇒ 2
Fletch Two-Fang
My first action will be to Change Shape and then move to the northeast corner of the room. I do not wish to provoke any attacks of opportunity so I wont move if Balin is too close that I would provoke. If for some reason Balin gets within melee distance of me I will 5 ft step away.
Declan
Sighing, Declan did not move as the lights went out, not having any issue with the dark. Instead, she unfolded her arms, and watched Sir Balin. She had left her staff outside the door, not having thought about it, and instead, did not move until the Paladin did, her eyes on him. "Sir Balin, we require your pendant, not your life. A hasty spell aside, you are outnumbered, and I do not wish a fight."

"I am not outnumbered when Mitra fights with me. I see where your blood heralds from. You will all feel Mitras justice!" As the lights go out he moves forward and swings mightily at Cole but the darkness gives him room to dodge the blow and the longsword whistles through the air. Declan barely misses grappling him. Timeon cowers down against the wall and Fletch changes shape. Then Wade's burning spell heats up the longsword, "Argh! You cowards fight in the darkness. You have no honour!" He holds onto the sword, caring not for the blisters forming on his hands. 4 dmg. He opted not to make the save and instead keep his weapon and take the burn.
Round 2
Init: Declan - Kana - Cole - Sir Balin - Wade - Fletch
Kana manages to aim her acid where she thinks Balin now is and just barely is able to hit him. 1 dmg.
1d20 ⇒ 13
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 19

You fool, you speak of honor as if it matters in a fight. We gained the tactical advantage, and now for your insolence you have forfeited the boys life as well. Die, you Mitra worshiping scum.
Burn a Fervor to swift cast divine favor
Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
If he is effectively blinded in the dark his AC should be 2 less and he is flatfooted. Its as if we were invisible.
Wade Willhelm v2
|
Wade frowns at him holding onto the red hot sword, and backs up another five feat casting the spell again 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
remaining 1st level spells 3
DM Repentance
Shouldn't your attack bonus be +10? STR5 + BAB2 + MW1 + WF1 + DF1? And you're damage +6? Divine Favour gives +1 at CL2. Not to worry. A 22 is still a hit. Just on his AC! :D
Cole's blade finds a gap in the heavily armoured Sir Balin and his sword returns to him with blood on it. Balin does not give in to his wound.
Fletch Two-Fang
Finally, this charade can end. Balin, your choice of squires is suspect. He whined the whole way here, was completely useless in a fight, and very nearly set off a trap.
I look at Balin and then let my eyes trail downward...
Do you have a...thing for weak runts like him? Because frankly I cannot think of any other reason you would let him follow you around. Killing you will be a pleasure, killing him will be a service to mankind.
Firebomb: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 19 vs. Touch AC. I have low-light vision so I should be able to see just fine in the current light level. Took Soft Cover into account.
3rd Degree Burns: 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8 Splash damage is 6 Fire, Reflex DC 16
Declan
Knowing better than to speak directly next to the paladin, Declan shakes her head in disgust. "My origin is enough to level judgement against me? How even-handed of a representative of Mitra", she said with scorn in her voice. She took a step back to prevent herself from being threatened by Sir Balin as she moved around him.

"it's just how the self professed good guys function, the look at me and cole here, they see aasimar wielding clearly divine magics, they look no further, let their biases fill in that we're paragons of virtue, they look at you and all your beautiful pale skin, calloused hands, fanged teeth and see a monster, even were you a goodie goodie like them they'd still never fully trust you, on my end it provides no end of amusement, I don't even have to lie to you people, you lap up my every word! After all I'm a scion of light and purity, what use have I for deceit," he grins ferally, showing his pointed teeth.
DM Repentance
You're right Fletch. And this guys touch AC is low as you would expect.
Declan pretends to retreat but runs around behind Balin to flank with Cole making his attack that much easier already resolved. "Mitra Favours me still! You will be punished!" he says as longsword cuts through Cole 15 dmg and Wade both 25 dmg crit. Wade falls to the floor in the midst of his speech. Fletch's bomb lands right on him burning him a good deal. He seems to look rather hurt. Kana splashes him with more acid this time burning away part of his face.
Round 2
Init: Declan - Kana - Cole - Sir Balin - Wade - Fletch
1d20 ⇒ 18
1d100 ⇒ 79
1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
1d20 ⇒ 20
1d20 ⇒ 7
1d100 ⇒ 35
2d8 + 18 ⇒ (3, 4) + 18 = 25
1d20 ⇒ 19
1d20 ⇒ 8
1d100 ⇒ 27
1d3 ⇒ 3
Cole, Warpriest of Asmodeous
Did we both take that crit damage? I believe I'm down either way. Just asking for tracking purposes.
Go. Go Fletch hopefully one more bomb takes him out. Then heal us please :)
Woops never mind if I was crited as well I am dead, took to -11 and with the 3 con damage that kills me as my con is currently 11. So I know cleave is two different roles, so just let me know if I too was crited. Thanks.
DM Repentance
No in round one you never said anything about a 5ft step. Then in round 2 you posted your action to 5ft step seeing that he had advanced towards Cole and you were unfortunately next to him. But in round two he goes first and cleaves. It sucks but that's the order of what happened.
Oh my post just 6 above should say round 3... My fail copy/paste. Cole you need to Fort save to Stabilize
Fletch Two-Fang
My eyes narrow as Sir Balin's cleaving swing eviscerates Wade.
You shouldn't have done that. Villain Point spent to either force a re-roll on Balin (preferred) or to bring Wade to -1 hp and stable.
I attempt to time my next bomb throw so that it hits him in the eyes. I am attempting a Called Shot to the eye as per the Called Shot rules. If we are not using Called Shot rules (they are an optional rules subset) then please add 10 to my attack roll and treat like a normal attack.
You meddlesome Mitran! Wade is an important pawn in my ongoing experiment!
Revenge is a dish best served...Flamebroiled!: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 - 4 - 10 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 1 - 4 - 4 - 10 = 4 vs. Touch AC
About to have a Mitran pot-luck: 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
Splash Damage: 6 Fire (DC 16 Reflex)
EDIT: May I take my 5 ft. step North so that I am throwing through Cole's square? If so then I wouldn't be taking the -4 cover penalty to hit (because he is now prone) and my result is an 8(Called Shot) or 18(normal).
DM Repentance
It takes 2 points to cheat death so I will go with the reroll. Also I am fine with Called Shots being used. Not sure what you would be trying to do with an eye shot since you already have concealment due to the low light(so if you would like to change to normal attack based on that I am fine with it). Other forms don't stack so he is still at 20% miss chance, as well as you and Kana. I forgot but you should have been rolling miss chance also. Low-light Vision doesn't say anything about ignoring concealment from dim light, just that you can see twice as far as a human, in this case Timeon would be visible to you.
Reroll: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Still a hit. Wade takes 12 damage instead of 25 and I believe is still standing.
Round 2 Wade retcon
Thinking he was going to die Wade is relieved to see his wounds not big enough for his insides to fall out. It still hurt like hell. He steps back to cast his Burning Disarm at Balin but is surprised to have Balin follow him.
Wade make a Concentration Check DC 17. If successful Balin takes 4 dmg.
Declan
It was a useful ploy, but Declan was more a fan of watching people get beaten. Unfortunately in this case, it was a distasteful thing to have to do, still it was something that she could do. Turning, she strode over to Timeon, unimpressed by his attempts to hide in the dark. "You should have paid more attention", she said to him, reaching out to grab him.
_______________
Grapple on Timeon: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15
DM Repentance
Yes, because you have to cast Defensively or he get's an AoO and you don't want that.
Wade Cast Defensively DC 17: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Burning Disarm Successful
Sir Balin grunts in pain as he is further burned by Wade. "Agh! You should have died from that strike!" He looks behind him to see Declan grab Timeon as he cries out, "Sir Balin help!" She has him in her grasp. He seems to be worried for the boy.
"Release him or feel the justice of Mitra!" he says as he moves (Wade get's an AoO from this) towards Fletch and swings again, cleaving through Wade then Fletch also, "Just like your friends here."
Wade: 17dmg, Fletch: 27dmg crit.
Kana sends yet another bolt of Acid, starting to panic as she now sees no one in between her and the Armoured Sir Balin. The blob of acid hits his arm but only a little gets through his armour. 1 damage Sir Balin looks to be in a lot of pain from his several wounds. He is barely on his feet. Only his devotion to Mitra keeps him going.
Round 4
Init: Declan - Kana - Cole - Sir Balin - Wade - Fletch
1d20 ⇒ 12
1d100 ⇒ 45
1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
1d20 ⇒ 20

Round 2 Wade retcon
Thinking he was going to die Wade is relieved to see his wounds not big enough for his insides to fall out. It still hurt like hell. He steps back to cast his Burning Disarm at Balin but is surprised to have Balin follow him.
Yes you 5ft stepped back but he followed you using the Step Up feat. You still have an AoO to take before falling though from his movement towards Fletch in Round 3 because he couldn't just take another 5ft step Because of the Step Up feat not allowing him to 5ft step in the round following his use of Step Up. If you do enough damage you could take him down before he takes you down.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 wade strikes out trying to hit him in his moment of distraction but misses and then dies to the cleaving strike
Declan
Declan restrains Timeon with little effort, but did let him turn enough to see her fangs so he had a sense of what might happen to him. "Shut up", she ordered the struggling Squire. "Cease your fighting, disarm yourself, and return to this room, else your squire will die."

Restraining Timeon: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 + 5 = 25
DM Repentance
Seeing Timeon firmly in the grasp of the pit fiend Sir Balin tried to think. The poor boy had little training and had no chance of escaping. Sir Balin runs to Kana, also grappling her. She attempts to fight back bur her attack is unsuccessful and she is grappled. "How about you release my squire or you will both die down here."
Round 5
Declan - Kana - Sir Balin
Kana concentrates and again acid slides between Sir Balin's armour. 1 dmg
1d20 ⇒ 17
1d20 ⇒ 20
1d20 ⇒ 9
1d3 ⇒ 1
Declan
Declan was never one to gloat, especially in situations that were already unfavorable, and Sir Balin was a competent champion, that was certain. Sighing, she lowered her head to Timeon's ear, speaking softly to him. "Note I made no mention of killing him despite all that he's done, yet he threatens me anyway. Also notice that instead of stopping, he seems to care little for your life. Perhaps you've chosen to serve the wrong person.. I'd have let you live." She took a couple of steps forward, still calm, moving Timeon with her towards the hallway entrance
"Don't you mean 'Three will die'?", Declan corrected him. "You clearly are not in the best shape. Sir Balin. Here, you need more light to see the results of your actions clearly."
_____________________________
Moving Timeon: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 + 5 = 22, 15ft closer to the hallway entrance
Declan
Holding Timeon, she moved him further into the light from the lone lantern, stepping over Wade's body, and stopping just before Balin and Kana. Her face was impassive as she looked over Kana to calmly regard him. She did not know what was going through his mind, but seeing his squire hurt due to his choices was probably not something he was willing to endure. "Last chance. Disarm. Give us the pendant. You and your squire can keep company in that room. Else, I will drain your squire in front of you, and his death will be on your head."

(still)Moving Timeon: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 + 5 = 29
Cole, Warpriest of Asmodeous
This all depends on DM ruling.
Cole's eyes suddenly awaken as he hears the threats exchanging between Declan and Balin. He calls for his dark energy to Heal his wounds.
swift action CLW 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
He then picks up his blade laying on the ground and lets it loose from his hands flying toward the knight.
Pick up blade(move action)
Use Magic domain to throw blade(standard)
Blade Throw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Fingers crossed, He dropped his shield and Grappled condition is -4 to Dex so lets hope for a hit
Declan
"Thank you. Perhaps there is something to be said about the honor of Mitra yet." Declan released Timeon, pushing him towards Sir Balin. "I am sorry Timeon. You made yourself a convenient tool, nothing more. For your sake-- and his-- become stronger and smarter." Declan raised an eyebrow at Sir Balin. "If you would release your hostage as well?"
Taking a step back, she waited for Kana to be released and Sir Balin to take a step back as well before she started to examine the three still forms on the ground.
