"Once we get in there try not to bunch up so I can hit them with a spell or two and try to take a few out of the fight. I'd suggest we don't wait long though, they obviously know we're here."

Grimkell son of Ogmundr |

Grimkell watches from the door step of the small stable as the horse triggers the trap. His focus is on the cabin though, no time for pity, he knows that he needs to force the bandits out.
Fools. They would let go of their horses so easily he thinks, still waiting for them to make a move.
Hearing the others whisper some kind of plan from behind the stable, the ulfen decides to take a few steps outside the stable, one last plan to smoke out the bandits is on his mind.
There, between the cabin and the stable, he stands up straight and speaks out in a loud and confident voice.
"You there. We, who have faced the draugr you left on the road, and the frozen monsters of the river, have your faith in our hands. Your horses are under our control. With ease we can slay them or take them away, leaving you stranded in this freezing place. Worst, we know some of you are sick, so said your comrades whom you left to guard the road to the cabin. Oh, and by the way, they won't be coming to your aid. Now, without your horses, you can say goodbye to any medications, any supplies you might hope to gather from the surrounding country side. So, please let your chief out so we may discuss an arrangement which does not leave you are dead."
What a lame roll, I guess we will only be left with the attack option...

Zisel Nordstrom |

Zisel cringes at Grimkell's proclamations intended to draw the ruffians out. She'll have to have a talk with him later about letting her do all the talking.
Zisel unsheathes her dagger, not that it has ever done much good, and readies herself on the off chance anything comes out that door.
"So, if they don't come out, we're actually going in there?" she asks, concerned about her own skin more than anything else at this exact moment. She takes a deep breath, now was no time for wimping out!

'Mother' Theora Rowe |

In the awkward silence that follows, Theora clears her throat.
"So, after you then?"

As Sootfeather makes a disgruntled noise and shifts on her shoulder, Theora takes a cautious step forward, arrow drawn, waiting for the unseen people to get closer.

Walking out of the stable, the ulfen digs his feet int the snow, and lifts up his javelin wielding arm, readying himself for when the bandits show up.
Taking a single step forward, Grimkell gives himself some momentum to thrust his javelin toward the approaching bandit. Unlike Theora, he aims at the chest.

"Well, I tried," Theora sighs, shaking her head. Taking a few steps forward, she focuses fire on the same bandit Grimkell and Mirri are attacking, putting the new longbow to the test. When the arrow buries itself in the bandit's chest, she decides it was a good idea to take it.

Zisel watches Mirri and Theora shoot, being rather impressed by their aim at the bandits. She moved forward, positioning herself beside Grimkell. Combat was not her expertise... What to do...
Without too much though, Zisel conjured two gallons of water above the Blue Bandit, dumping it on top of him.
"I think everyone needs to just... cool off," she added with a snicker at her own wit. It wasn't a very damaging tactic, but maybe he'd get cold enough to retreat back inside.

Such a waste of superb rolls. Can't shoot the other one due to line of sight and needing to reload the crossbow, one of the many reasons I dislike the darn things. Oh well, guess I need to make a usable longbow a priority.
If blue is still alive I'll target him instead, otherwise see the following.
With her target down for the count Mirri moved to help support Yeva as she dealt with her attackers. Crossbow in hand she reloaded it and prepared to fire if she needed to at the next opportunity.

Seeing that the threat from this side of the building has been neutralized, Zisel moved swiftly towards Yeva. The rather strong woman seemed to be contending with a few more bandits on the other side of the lodge.

Didn't Mirri take Theora's old longbow when we found the composite one? If not, I'll suggest the swap in-character once this combat's over.
Seeing the standing bandit succumb to the cold, Theora grips her bow and hurries back around the side of the building.
Double-move.

DM Twilight |

Mirri, I do recall Theora talking about a swap when that occurred, I assumed you took the bow.
Grimkell, you can't run on difficult terrain. The snow is considered difficult terrain. Even if you could, I think you forgot that each square cost 2 to move, 3 if diagonal.

Mirri Willowthir |

K, guess I just forgot about recording it then. Wouldn't surprise me any. I'll get it added after this fight. Gonna let a couple of others post actions before I do in case they kill it too quickly, that, and it's late and I'm tired.

Mirri Willowthir |

Lining up a shot on the remaining raider Mirri fired her crossbow once again. Sadly the fact that her allies were in the way, and the distance caused her bolt to fly far wide of the target.

Are the windows reachable? Could we easily break one and enter?
Grimkell catches up with the others, his expression stern, and not likely to be broken by a smile anytime soon.
"Good, Pym, could you scout around, look through the windows and tell us who is where?" he asks, stopping and looking around.

'Mother' Theora Rowe |

Theora retrieves the arrow she fired into the snow, brushing it off on her cloak and tucking it back in her quiver. "Good idea. Would someone like to help me with these two?" she asks, indicating the unconscious men and drawing her rope from her pack.
