It is most assuredly a trap. Tolvan says as he stands and casts a mage armor spell on himself. As he picks up his staff he adds But Anna, if we do not "fall" for this trick then it will be some other, likely less able group that does. I would not feed the good people of this realm to these monsters. Let us put them down and sleep more soundly than we otherwise would. And if we go, we will need your keen eye and steady hand to avoid the pitfalls and worse that likely await us.

Oathar dismounts from the carriage and stands with Tolvan awaiting the response from the others. I must agree with Tolvan here and not shirk from my duties to protect the innocent.

Anna sighs and plucks at the crossbow's string absently. All right, then. She chews her lip a moment, then remembers. I've got three doses of antitoxin. It's not enough for all of us, but it might be good to prepare. Tolvan, she fishes one vial out and hands it to him. Kimberly, she hands another to the oracle.
She appraises Danica and Oathar, then looks at the last vial. Maybe I should take this one myself.
Drinking it will give a +5 bonus on saves vs. poison for one hour.

Tolvan cringes slightly when Othar talks of duty. Leaning close to the man Tolvan chides That is NOT the way to get Anna to come along and be helpful.
I have two of my own Anna. Please drink one yourself and I shall drink one of my own. And please lead the way. I trust no one like I trust you when it comes to detecting traps and ambush.
Kilnerly should have her own too as they were part of the alchemical packs Tolvan assembled for everyone after our time in the alchemical factory.

There is a glimmer of satisfaction when the decision to move forward is made.
Danica removes a vial from her Haversack, the same antitoxin the others are drinking. She takes a dose then moves over to the paladin. "You wish to partake?"
"May I suggest then that Anna and I take point? She can look for traps while I have her back. They may attack when they see females. They may think us....weaker and easy kills."

Oathar accepts the vial from Danica and drinks it. My thanks Danica. I think they will find that they have errored in their ways if they think you two weak in any way.
He whispers back to Tolvan, I am certain Anna has her own motivations for doing things, but duty is something I cannot shirk.

Anna gulps down her antitoxin and collects the other vials she had offered. Blech, she winces, though her sour face may have more behind it than just the taste. She nods to Danica and drops down to the ground, then starts slowly making her way toward the trees and the presumed trap. She stays on high alert, watching for webs glinting in the filtered daylight.

Anna spots several web traps in her movement through the trees but none of the spider folk. She also sees a shoe on the ground, then a belt a bit after that. In a few hundred feet the trees give way to a overgrown clearing, in which stands a ruined stone tower.
As Anna draws close to the edge of the clearing, a rippling crystal clear melody sounds across the glade.
DC18 will save anna - Depending on how close people are behind her, ie less than 50 feet behind her, can also make saves of their own

despite the warnings from the party, and not really paying mind to the idea of traps, Kimberly seems to really enjoy the melody that she is hearing.
She continues to advance, twirling and dancing slightly to the music, pressing forward (unless physically restrained)

Danica just posted her Will Save in Discussion. Fortunately only one of us missed it. Have no idea what is going on with Kimberly, but Oathar would not willingly let a child walk into danger and he would grab her hand to try and prevent it. I don't like reading spoilers that are not meant for me.

My apologies for posting in Discussion thread. Posting and working with multiple screens is making me cocked-eyed. lol
Now with Kimberly, I think Ana and I are ahead of everyone scouting the area. If Kimberly comes close to us then one of us would definitely not allow her to proceed any further past our position. Maybe it is a dual roll, once for perception to hear her coming from behind us and a reaction roll to grab and hold her.

Tolvan will be letting folks know as soon has he is aware of her "unauthorized" movement. :) And her short little move 20 legs are not likely to get too far ahead of us. Plus Tolvan can dimensionally step as needed to grab her too.

Oathar has no issue grabbing the girl but she seems distracted.
Anna sneaks past a few web snares into the clearing which is about 200 feet wide, and is different by reason of having a crumbling watch tower in the middle of it.
The tune which to some ears may be melodic and soothing has an unnatural even perverse air to Anna's. The tower is marked by fine strands of webbing across the soil and pine needles of the clearing, radiating out from a single crumbled hole in the side of the building.
It will grow increasingly difficult to avoid them all.
You can't really disable these devices per se -]Taking a DC20 reflex save to avoid touching one of them 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 But Anna focuses on avoiding them which she does nimbly - this will bring Anna to within 30 feet at this point where we will pause for the others...

What the servant of Sarenrae sees? Is four ettercaps hiding in the foliage to your right about 50 feet away from the group to the left. Dancia doesn't have the right knowledge skill to make the call and in any case making it unseen would be a very tough call. Tolvan is also at a loss.
For Anna the music stops as she looks in.
Long, taut strands of shimmering silk fill the ruined tower’s interior, forming an intricate pattern running from floor to ceiling. Half a dozen large cocoonlike shapes hang from the ceiling, suspended above the tower’s hard-packed dirt floor. In the far corner, between two larger chunks of rubble, a wide burrow opens into the ground.

Seems the only token I cannot control in Roll20 is mine! I made a rectangle where I moved and fired a shot at the end Ettercap once I was informed of their location by Danica in Initiative 5.

I moved Danica and had her shoot the end Ettercap. (It is in the Roll20 Site) I think an 11 will miss. She will softly alert the three of us as to the position of the Ettercaps.
