Would people like me to setup a google docs spread sheet for loot? And if so DM do you mind putting link somewhere handy (like the campaign tab)?
My philosophy with loot is things that characters want to use get bought off the party at the price they could sell it for to merchants (normally, 50% of cost). The reason I do this is that is characters that happen to get nothing useful will get cash to buy what they want but there is a discount to encourage characters to use what they find. It is easy to use a different % when setting up the spread sheet if people want (I had group that compromised on 75% and it worked fine).

Spread sheet looks great, would be nice if included each character's share minus what they have been bought from the party. Additional I couldn't use the link from the campaign page, but that might be my iPad being silly. I had assumed we would get a silver raven each, I am happy to sell them but the seemed iconic.
Let me know if this continues to be an issue.
I gave each of you a silver raven, per your request.I'm not sure I understand what you're meaning with the character's share. The top row above each name shows the total of what you've claimed out of the found items.
I'll adjust it as you guys like, just let me know what you're wanting.

Working know thanks.
What I meant with character share was: eg we have got 15,000gp worth of loot so each player's share is 2,500.
Either that listed somewhere or that value minus what each character has spent. I can add it in easily if you would like.

If you guys are interested, I started up a map on Roll 20. I'm very new to using roll 20, but I'm willing to give it a shot if you guys are.

I'm fine with that. I can't access it on my phone but I've used it on the computer before and it works well.

I've used Roll20 a little. Our monthly group uses d20pro. What is your game name for Roll20? When I click on your link above, I get "Not Authorized". Perhaps you need our Roll20 user name.

I have the some problem. My account for roll20 is wooti726@gmail.com.
Not sure why but we haven't heard from a couple of players for a week.

This LINK should work for letting you join. You can also PM me your email and I can invite you that way.
I did notice the others absence and will be PMing them today to check in on them.

DM Just wanted to say thank you. Enjoying the game and the pace you are setting. Also enjoying the other characters and looking forward to getting to know them better.

I already talked about the with our DM but I figured I'd get you guys in on this as well.
My absence has been part busy RL, part not being very happy with my character and how it fits within the group mechanically. Basically I felt superfluous as all Melia could do other could do as well or could even do better. As a result I felt rather useless, which I personally don't enjoy.
As such I'll be redesigning Melia. She'll become a Hunter instead of a Fighter, taking the Courtly Hunter archetype to better fit both the character and the campaign. This should also help the group with some divine magic access even if it's the Hunter list.
Only thing I'm not set on yet is my animal companion. I'd be looking at either a wolf (flavor wise a massive dog with some hell hound ancestor far, far away in his lineage) or a Yolubilis Heron. The former is an easy and straightforward fit while the latter is a little stranger but fits the setting.
Another, more exotic, option would be the velociraptor. The main draw here is the fact that with his 14 Cha this companion is quite a charmer and would be fun to use in an intimidate setup. Melia could have gotten it via family connections in Sargava.

I'm happy to here that you're just re-tooling Melia instead of dropping out of the campaign? Admittedly, I feared I was about to be reading the latter message when I started reading your post.
If you're looking for party input on your options, I'm going to cast my vote for the raptor. Why? 'Cause it's a DINOSAUR!! Everybody knows that dinosaurs are like...the bee's knees, the bomb-dot-com, and the shiz-nit all rolled into one ball of awesome.
Also, DM_Kumo, I'm sorry to hear that your wife's dad was ill! I hope that he's feeling better now.

Sounds great to me. I had noticed that a number of us were fairly similar. I was glad Xeno had a splattering of magic to make her more different from all the other dex based fighters in the group.
if you want to build the companion into what we have already done there was a alpha male dog at the stables (that might have had some hell hound ancestry).

I like the mechanics for the second identity and renown in Vigilante, I might get one level of it at some point or the masked avenger archetype for swashbuckler. I kind of figure since I don't have mechanics supporting my second identity that it is something that NPCs can discover if they try hard enough (ie she will be in trouble when she make powerful enemies.)

Melia Henderthane |

If I go with the wolf it would be one of Melia's own dogs. I'd basically say she had the archetype's 2nd level ability all along as that allow me to shapeshift my companion into a specific, similar, harmless looking, tiny animal.

I'm happy to stay in if Melia is. Her abilities have changed but she has always been with us (and really we haven't worked out each other's abilities yet any way.

Melia Henderthane |

I think that strictly speaking Melia isn't even there yet so I guess it's good to have her not partake in this combat. She's stuck in in character explanation for the drastic change she's going through.
I'll make sure she's done by the time the combat is over so she can join then.

Melia Henderthane |

Melia has been updated, just need to decide on the companion.
It won't be the dinosaur simply because it doesn't really fit. That and I can't help but think about a sketch by Eddie Izzard when I think about intelligent raptors.
So it's down to either the Heron, disguised as a pied kingfisher, or Wolf/Dog, disguised as one of Melia's Taldan(French) bulldogs. The latter option would actially also free up some gold as I wouldn't have to buy the dog any more.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Melia's companion is now also done.
Belhave is a female Zi Han Mastiff (Tibetan Mastiff) of unusual size and generally friendly demeanour. The only one she's more protective of than Melia is her companion Jandor, a Taldan Bulldog about a year younger than she is.
Belhave's line is was imported from far away Tian Xia as part of a prestige project by some Chelish nobles who desired to show how far their connections and power reached. The breed was created to function as guards for the monasteries of Zi Ha, protect the Samsaran residents from the wild things that roam the mountain passes. They are supposed to be deeply spiritual animals.
So yes, I did design a bit of a background for her companion
Any design on when Melia can jump in again?

Melia Henderthane |

Apparently she is.
I must say I never even heard of that dog until I googled it just now. I never read the Dresden Files books. Belhave simply came to be because I like both the french bulldog (I have one) and the tibetan mastiff (don't have room for one). Most of the time Belhave walks around shapeshifted into a Taldan bulldog in order to avoid attention as her actual breed is very rare in the Inner Sea region.

Melia Henderthane |

Would it be ok if I have Melia enter the inn itself? She won't be joining the battle yet, just making small talk with Laria and temporarily stashing her things. Oh, and handing her non-companion dog over to Laria before joining the others downstairs.

I will be leaving on vacation tomorrow. I should have internet connection most of the time. But, for the days I'm not connected, Raven will do her typical Perception, Disable Devise, and remain in the back and shoot arrows for battles.

Sorry the next month or so at work is the busiest of the year in addition to having a 10 week old might mean that my posts are a little slow and short. It'll get better again in July.
