COAT OF ARMS
Sir Jaymin's coat-of-arms consists of the Thrushberry silver upon a field of green with the silhouette of a thrush in purple upon the silver. Unlike his father's coat-of-arms, Sir Jaymin's thrush clutches two javelins in its feet. His livery colours are green and purple with thread of silver embroidery.

BACKGROUND
Sir Jaymin, the fifth son of Baron Layton Thrushberry, has lived a life of hand-me-downs: clothes, toys, tutors, and now horse and armaments. With little to no hope of gaining any power or titles from his own Lord father, or of really gaining his father's notice above and beyond that of his elder brothers, Sir Jaymin turned inwards to what he could control: himself and his own abilities. While many younger sons of nobility turn to the life of a knight to gain the notoriety and respect they couldn't get at home, Sir Jaymin turned to it to embrace it for what it was: a lifestyle of nobility, chivalry, and jousting tournaments.
In the beginning, he turned to pray to Kurgess out of a desire to steady his arm or strengthen his knees to stay in the saddle, but gradually came to learn that many of the god's tenets beyond simple competition were noble and good: fairness and justice in competition were more important than winning, and to cheat at a sport dishonours the sport and invalidates any victory. Wanting to learn more, Sir Jaymin sought out clergy of Kurgess at a local tournament, asking for training. It was soon discovered that Sir Jaymin did not have the proper mental faculties for such study, never being particularly bright, but his horsemanship was excellent and his arm and will were strong. Sir Jaymin trained as a Shining Knight, not just of chivalry and nobility, but a Knight of Kurgess sworn to train himself hard for competition, never to refuse a fair challenge, never to accept an unfair one, and above all, to demonstrate the principles of fair play and honour at all times. The use of poisons or dirty tricks in combat are abhorrent, and never to be tolerated.
Much of Sir Jaymin's experience is in the jousting and melee arenas of tournaments. He has never actually engaged in real combat, and never expects to - while he trains himself hard, his equipment is all for show. He owns no barding for his gelding, Patrans, and his sword is never sharp.
Sir Jaymin traveled about Taldor from tournament to tournament, pausing in the courts of various country nobles to pass the time and meet new people. It was during such a stop at Baron Otto's home where Sir Jaymin first laid eyes on the Lady Rebecca, then 14 and himself 17. He was infatuated at first sight, though she likely has never noticed him in that manner. Sir Jaymin offered his service and allegiance to Baron Otto, performing at tournaments in his name. He has yet to work up the courage to ask Lady Rebecca for her favour to wear in jousting.
