Silly question time (or not silly question, I know not!): is there a way to create an alias with a pre-gen (like Quig) so that I can use that in this game?

Here is my grand plan.

I aim to convert the Starfinder Pregen Statblocks into something that can be used for PBP, creating google docs that we all can use so that you can copypasta it into your characters!

What I suggest for most pregens is that you create an alias for your Pregens, and then just alter it with the information that you want to use in case you play another game with a pregen again! Your Pregen could be named 'Pregen Eric' or something.

Alternatively, if you know the name of the Starfinder character to which you wish to apply this adventure, you can (when they allow us to make Starfinder characters) make a character with that name and just indicate in the header which pregen you're playing. This may be more confusing, however.

At the moment, there have not been releases of Starfinder art for our aliases yet. I am hopeful that this will be coming soon.

Okay, took me a while to find where to make the Alias (I have only created PFS characters here).

So, here is my attempt... as Eric Collins - France making an Alias for Quig the 4th level iconic mechanic.

The only concern that I have with naming the Pregen "Quig" is that after ten posts on the boards you won't be able to edit it. It will become a dedicated alias to a character that you may only play once. If you don't mind that (there are no limits to the numbers of aliases you might have) then I'm cool with it.

This is a generic Pregen whose image and stats I shift to whenever pregen I'm currently playing.

EDIT: took "SFS PreGen #1 - Eric C." to have an Alias for PFS and one for SFS, and numbers in case I ever run more than 1 at the same time.

It's a nice book. Will be great to see it on paper since it has lots of big images that cover pages...

The creation system is nice: race, theme, class... It is not complex at all, but the theme part multiplies the number of possibilities without having to go into archetypes per class).
Android-Mechanic will be different if Scholar theme, or Pilot etc..

I wish i had the spare money to subscribe for that early access PDF. I'll just have to wait until 17th for my first look.

Since I am not actually playing my character but a higher level pregen, and will not get credit for this scenario until a while, when I read level 4, is that correct?
I mean, ie. I can play say my -701 at level 1 in some games, and get XP etc., while playing the pregen here, and then credit my -701 at the end of this game (the credit will only go to the -701 character when it reaches level 4).
Or do I need to create another character, -702 for example, and then wait till we finish this, to start playing it at level 1?

Actually, the only people who have gotten the Starfinder CRB are Starfinder GenCon GMs (I am one) and the subscribers, which includes all VCs.

So... About your question. John Compton ruled once that a character could only be in one PBP Game at time. So technically you would have to apply this to another character. That said, this is a pregen scenario. Hmmm.... How about if I don't ask for your SFS numbers until the very end, and we'll see if your -701 is free then. Sound good?

I'll tell you what. I am still waiting on the SFS guide, which is supposed to drop tomorrow. If the SFS guide will allow a seven person table, I will let you stay on as Navasi the Envoy. But you'll have to keep an eye on this gameplay, and be responsive once Play-by-Post Gameday starts. Do you think you can do that?

My big concern with a seven person table is Ship Combat. I don't want it to bog down with a seven person table, so you'll have to be really on top of things.

Lupus, I understand. Part of the reason that I hadn't announced when I was doing the drawing was that I kept expecting Paizo to run a blog that they had requested I write about Play-by-Post! I figured that I would run the drawing right after the blog came out...

I like the format for your pregen alias Eric, I hope you don't mind if I steal it ;)

Your character ideas sound like a lot of fun. I really like the ancestor idea for a first character, but my favourite character is a gnome so I don't think I could do that myself. I think my first character is likely to be an android who staunchly believes that if they collect enough data, they would be able to predict all possible pasts and futures, and thus, determine what happened during the gap.

@HMM: I just thought I should mention that my dissertation is due at the beginning of September, so I may be a bit distracted for the first week of this game. After that, though, I'll have so much time on my hands I won't know what to do with myself other than post here :)

I'm going to get my pregen alias done this weekend and start thinking about my roleplaying approach to Obo :)

It's getting super close now and i'm getting excited to see Starfinder for myself.

Our local lodge are running a weekend SFS event on the release weekend from the gaming shop we always play at (Fanboy3, Manchester, England). It should be be a really fun weekend.

I'll be sorting out an SFS pregen alias very soon. I wish i could see a Starfinder statblock so i know what i'll need to put on it - that's another thing to look forward to seeing! :)

I am really hoping that they release the Pregens SOON so that I can get them printed prior to GenCon.

My -701 is Charli Poshkettle, the gnomish decendent of one of my favorite PFS characters, Cup! I had her planned from ever since PaizoCon, when a Starfinder panel announced that the Pathfinder Legacy races would be part of the setting from the beginning. What they did not say is that gnomes would lie behind an RSP boon wall!*

The one place I cannot earn my own boon is the Regional Support Program.... The store that I help organize is not included in the RSP, and neither is the other store at which I regularly volunteer. But I want Charli to be part of things from the very start. So Charli will get the benefit of my GenCon GM chronicles, and then will have to wait until I can somehow trade for one.

@Hmm if i get my hands on a legacy race boon from running at my FLGS you will be the first person i come to.

I think my first character will be a Kasatha who is some kind of spellcaster. Maybe a Technomancer... i won't decide until i see the classes and see what fits the idea in my head.

So, in the States, you not only have to run public games for Regional Support, you have to run them in specific locations (affiliated shops?).
I'll see what they have for SFS, but in France (and "our" region) you 'only' need to run public games (not in private homes, and open for walk-ins etc.).

I'll keep an eye out for one for you then (cannot remember what the Boon blog said, but, if they do different races in different areas I can look to 2 neighbors of ours: Germany/Switzerland and Holland, who are both part of 2 different Regions than us, and get other races than we do in their PFS RSP).

FYI: this year we are getting Skinwalker and last year was Ratfolk... so I actually have an Ysoki ancestor!

re. Rafolk: I got the double boon (where you can give the race-boon to another) so gave it to a gaming companion, and we've only played them together (as brother and sister) which is so fun with the Swarming trait. 2 Ratfolk can be in the same square, so we always move around to end up in the same square, to clean our respective fur etc. ; and if you are like that, your are considered to be flanking... so we made a duo of Rogues [well, I am Arcane Trickster, he pure UC Rogue]. So we squirm around together in a little pile, and then dice people up w. Sneak Attacks w. Claws and Bite...

Hello all!

Started updating Quig's stats here... stopped for now, and will see how it goes, since there are mistakes in the PreGen Mechanic 4 w/o having read or checked it all.

For example: F +3 | R +1 | W +3 | when I count F +5 | R +6 | W +2 |

I guess Quig took some dope that makes him real slow, less resistant, but buffed his willpower a bit.

On another note, since the SFS Guide requires we declare characters that will get pregen XP when we start:
SFS #101218-706 is the character that will get XP for this game

Does this adventure have a boon that need for starting first or for the wayfinders?
