If the atomie attempts to kill Lander outside the terms of the duel:
Edward will intercede by attacking the atomie if it attempts to outright kill Lander.

If any other parties interfere with the duel:
If anyone other than Lander, the atomie, or Edward's party interferes with the duel he will interrupt the duel to prevent further harm to Lander. He really only has one method to do so, by stabbing things, so he'll probably do that.

After a quick discussion, Lander and Wee Willie agree that they will fight to knock out or yield.

GM:

Lander: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Wee Willie: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Wee Willie leads off by turning invisible. "Hey!" yells Lander, "That's cheating!"

"No it isn't..." says a disembodied voice, "We didn't agree to no special abilities!" The atomie laughs at his joke.

Lander moves to where the atomie is laughing, and swings to the best of his ability. While Lander figures out where the fey creature is, he misses badly.

Lander looks heartbroken that he cannot finish the fight, but the atomie has flown off faster than he can follow. He quietly goes around and picks up his daggers, and looks at his now very small, cloth sword, and wonders what he is going to do about it. "Anya, undo this foul magic!" he orders.

In the nests, you find two eggs, which you know to be very valuable. However, you also find, in a pile of bird-poo, what appears to be some gems, probably of equal value.

In other words, I am rewarding you for being humane

Lander exclaims, "Why, that was quite the exhilarating fight! We should find another fight like this before we get home! Who is with me? We should take the eggs, I hear these creatures make for excellent mounts!"

"You are a child. Had you been in front by yourself, they would have mauled you to death before we could have saved you.

You continue down this path and you will meet an early death. I do not want to see this. Shelyn would weep for your light being snuffed out before your chance to truly shine.

The parents are not dead. They will continue to a fulfilling existence. It should not be for us to deprive them of that. Let us leave them be, not enslave them."

Anya is beginning to think for the good of Brevoy this child just might "need" to die.

Also, Anya is having a hard time reconciling just why she is listening to the Shelynite paladin. Oh that's right; she is a Pathfinder and not in line to the White Throne.

Sigh. "Yes, it is important to understand that not all subjects believe as you and I do, in that sometimes it is better to allow the illusion of free will while we crush it with the heel of our boots. Come now, Leander! You have much to learn!"

Diplomacy assist!: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Lander looks sheepishly at Lya and Kirin, after being confused by Anya. "Yes, you are probably right. We'll leave the eggs alone. Plus, I think you are probably correct that we've had enough 'adventuring' for now. Let's just get home. I hope my sword recovers soon..."

The group quickly gathers up the gemstones and heads back to town, a line of captives in tow. They make it to Silverhall without any more incidents, much to the relief of the Pathfinders.

The bandits are turned over to the constables, with evidence for their trial. The Pathfinders and Lander then head to his home, and are greeted by a very appreciative Dame Sarrona Lebeda. "Oh, Lander! I am so happy to see you home safely! Thank you, Pathfinders, for a job well done!"

She looks over her son, seeing him to be in good health, and her grin widens. "How did things go? Where did you find him?" she asks.

"You could say we found him boxed in, after being..." Sgt. Blue rolls his eyes, "...overwhelmed. Captive as much by his youthful pride and inexperience, as his foes' superiority. No matter their size."

"We spoke with Marek, and learned young Lander here went off into the wilderness. We came across 3 bandits who we learned had beaten him and taken him prisoner.

After finding the Bandit camp, and sadly requiring a violent negotiation, we found Lander captive. It seems the leader of the bandits have a re pore with Marek and wanted to learn from him who Lander's family was to ransom him for money.

After a misadventure with an Atomie, we arrived back at town safe and sound, bandits handed over to the town guards, as well as the evidence of Marek's involvement."
